Home description
Our penthouse garden is ideally situated, just 5km from the centre of Athens and at 3km distance from the coast. On the 6th floor of a wonderful stone white new building, this luminous apartment opens out onto the surrounding landscape offering a magnificent view of Hymettus hill and the seaside. The large windows result in an abundance of sunlight indoors and thus, the interior is complemented with bright colours that emit busts of energy. The layout of the penthouse has been calculated down to the last detail to make the most of the available space without sacrificing floor space and functionality. It is equipped with everything needed for carrying out household activities. Various artists merged their skills in order to create the roof garden into a relaxation retreat. Indeed, both interior and exterior space convey a sense of tranquility and comfort. The design of the garden complements the modern and functional character of the residence and creates a contemplative haven. The play of textures and colours establishes different planes suggesting the independence of each individual area.

The Attica region
Pireus Port (8km away) is even closer and by catching the ferry, many beautiful islands could be visited for either daily excursion or longer.(Hydra, Aegina, Spetses, Myconos, Santorini etc.)
All around the Acropolis, which offers a unique view of the city, the ancient city co-exists with parts of Byzantine and neoclasical Athens. Monuments such as the temple of Hephaestus, the best-preserved ancient temple in the whole of Athens; the Ancient Agora, the great open square which served as the civic centre and marketplace; the Ancient Odeion of Herod Atticus; the theatre of Dionysos, the birthplace of drama in the fifth century BC; the Olympeion, the temple dedicated to Olympian Zeus; the Hill of Ares, the supreme ancient court, all mingle with Byzantine churches that are 800-1,000 years old, as well as nineteenth-century neoclassical houses.
Plaka, better known as 'the old town', separates the antiquities from the hustle and bustle of the modern city. Plaka lies under the Acropolis and stretches all around the Acropolis hill. One of the most colourful and romantic corners of Athens, Plaka has charming little houses with tiled roofs set amidst flower-filled courtyards and narrow streets. A walk through Plaka is a walk through layers of history:anywhere your eyes rest you meet numerous sanctuaries, marble monuments, Sacred Gates leading to the Acropolis, remains of the ancient walls of Athens, unique buildings from over 2,000 year of Athens' history, and churches decorated with early reliefs of animals and plants. Adding to the picturesque quality of Plaka are colourful tavernas where you shall taste traditional greek recipies and thus, have the chance to listen to greek folk music played by high spirited musicians.
Athens / Nea Smurni area
Within 5km (or just 10 minutes if you take the underground) you find yourself in the historical centre of Athens. From the Acropolis Metro Station you reach the Acropolis, a natural outcrop 156 meters high that provides a natural defensive position.
Acropolis was the religious centre of Athens and its monuments symbolize the glory of the Athenian Democracy throughout the centuries. On the Acropolis stands Athens' most precious jewel: the Parthenon, the greatest of all Greek temples in artistry and execution. The temple dates to 447-432 BC and it was under the supervision of the Athenian leader Pericles that the architects Iktinos and Kallicrates together with the sculptor Pheidias delivered an everlasting masterpiece of achitectural engineering and divine beauty. Under the holly rock of the Acropolis you will feel its vibrations; an eternal energy sent to all nations.
There is an open market 5min walk away, with fresh fruit and vegetables in low prices twice a week which is definitely worth a visit.
All the local amenities are within a walking distance (bus, metro, tram, market, bars, cafes etc.)
A good choice is Syntagma (centre of Athens excellent for shopping) or Akropoli station (where you could have a lovely stroll at the Plaka-Monastiraki-Thissio).
