About the home

Downtown Athens, luxury 3 bedroom 2 bath penthouse with full American style kitchen featuring full size appliances, full size clothes washer and dryer, free WiFi and international long distance phone service. Private veranda and Acropolis view terrace.
This contemporary homes features imported Sealy Posturepedic beds in each of its three bedrooms. Two triple rooms each sleep 3 guests in one Queen bed and one twin bed, while the third bedroom sleeps 2 guests in a double bed. Two additional guests can be accommodated on a super comfy sofa sleeper.
In addition to our fabulous full size fridge, stove, and oven, the kitchen is loaded with extras including a coffee maker, blender, sandwich/waffle grill, complete sets of cookware and table service, making this not only a great home in the city for a quick breakfast, but also a terrific retreat when you've visited one of our neighborhoods three outdoor farmers' markets and want to try your hand at a Greek feast (we even provide some English language Greek cookbooks to get you started!
Our guests repeatedly tell us that our homes exceeded all expectations. This is because we, too, are vacation rental travelers, and as expats in Athens we know what it is like to want to come home to a comfortable, familiar apartment where friends and family can spread out and relax after a day exploring the historical center of Athens, the beaches along the souther coast, or climbing the ruins around Nafplion or Delphi.

These days we're all obligated to travel lighter and lighter, and that makes our homes even more attractive. Not only will you find our beds fitted with super silky high thread count bed linens, you'll find the closets stocked with fluffy soft bath sheets and towels - we've even provided wash clothes and hand towels as well as thick cotton bath robes. And our guests who are venturing off to the beach for the day will find beach towels provided specifically for this purpose.
As you might imagine, families love our places, and we're glad, because we love kids. To welcome you home to Athens, we provide a crib and high chair for the littlest travelers in your family and a nice selection of games and movies for kids of all ages.

And at the end of the day, there is nothing quite like our spacious verandas to relax with a glass of wine or our terrace for stunning Acropolis views.

Although there's no need for a car to explore central Athens, many of our guests wisely choose to base themselves in Athens while exploring the greater Attica area (Sounion, Vravona and Marathon) or the Argoloid Peninsula (Nemea, Mycenae, Corinth). Fortunately for them we've got indoor parking (extra fee) just adjacent to the apartment. For those who want a rental car only for the day, there are several agencies we work with who will be pleased to pick you up so that you can sneak off the back way to the highway, avoiding the maze of streets within the Syntagma Square and historic center areas.

Minimum stay 3 consecutive nights, although occasionally we may find ourselves with a "hole" in our calendar, so feel free to ask about 2 night stays, but please, don't be upset if we just can't offer it.
We do require that the primary renter of our property be 25 years or older, and valid ID and major credit card are required.
A 500 euro reservation deposit holds your dates with the balance due 60 days prior to arrival.
We accept payment by most major credit cards as well as bank wires and, from our US guests, personal checks on US bank accounts when booked more than 60 days in advance of arrival.

Conditions

Please note that this property is strictly non smoking inside. Guests are permitted to smoke on the vernadas & terrace.

Explore Attica, Delphi, the Peloponnese, and the islands all from your comfortable home base in Athens. Why both packing and unpacking when you can venture out to the port of Pireaus and catch a flying dolphin to Hydra or Aegina and be back in your own comfortable bed that night?

Delphi is a great day trip, visit the lovely mountain village of Arahova en route - we can even arrange a driver for your trip, or help you reserve a car and do it on your own with our provided maps! The Argoloid peninsula is the perfect day trip for everyone: Archeology, beaches, wineries and great food, make this a day to please everyone, while getting you back to your comfortable Sealy bed that night.

The Athens / Plaka, Athens area

Historical and modern Athens at your feet! While the historical centre is just a 10 - 15 minute walk from the penthouse, en route you will pass the Old Olympic Stadium, Hadrien's Arch and the Temple of Zeus, Syntagma Square and the changing of the guard in from of the Parliment. You can also visit the President and Prime Minister's homes en route to Syntagma, and join the Evzones as they march to their positions in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier!!

Trendy and chic Kolonaki is located just a 10 minute walk from the penthouse, and en route you might want to visit the National Art Gallery, the Byzantine Museum, the War Museum (great for airplane enthusiasts!), the Benaki Museum and the Museum of Cycladic Art.

At your feet is the vibrant Imittou shopping district. A double wide, boulevard type street, with one side pedestrian, is lined with trees and cafes and is the place for an afternoon "volta" with the locals. Two indoor movie houses and two outdoor movie theaters, for summer films under the stars. Cafes and restaurans, great shopping and even three farmer's markets each week make this the perfect home away from home in the centre of Athens.

We're located in downtown Athens, about 30 minutes by car from the Athens International Airport, 15 minutes by car from the port. While most of our guests opt to let us take care of their transfers, you can reach us by metro, we're a short walk from the Evangelismos metro station - a direct line from the airport.

For guests who want to explore outer Attica or Delphi, we can recommend several nearby car rental companies that will bring your car to you or we can connect you with a fabulous driver which leaves you free to enjoy the sites.

“Great apartment, fun neighborhood, great vacation” The Acropolis view apartment (We stayed in Beta) was very nicely laid out, nicely furnished, with every amenity thought of. We arrived on Christmas eve with our small son and the owner Carole even helped arrange for extra groceries to be stocked so we wouldn't have a screaming toddler on our hands.
