The North West Italy / Piedmont/Lake Maggiore region
The property is in Monferrato, a sub region on the south of the Piemonte region and close to the liguria region. Monferrato used to be an indipendent dukedom under the Gonzaga family of Mantua until the eighteenth century when it became part of the Piemonte kingdom which unified Italy in the nineteenth century. Monferrato is full of beautiful villages with art and history and plenty of cultural events and festivals (music, ballet and teather) in the summer. The climate is mitigated mediterranean.
