Welcome to our restored cascina situated in a small, quiet village with undisturbed views over the Asti and Monferrato region.

It offers private and spacious accomodation for 6 people and is elegantly and tastefully decorated to a high standard.

Our 300 year old farmhouse has been recently restored and offers spacious living accommodation for 6 people. We have a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, espresso maker and dining table to sit 10. We have 3 bedrooms with balconies, 3 bathrooms, a wine cantina, 2 livingrooms with dvd, hi-fi, playstation 2, and projector. Plus a variety of english books, childrens' toys, dvd's and music cd's. We also have 3 wood burning fires.

You have access to a private courtyard, and shaded terrace where you dine alfresco with undisturbed views over fields and vineyards. We have a large garden with fruit trees; cherry, plum, fig...which we are happy to share with you!

You'll be warmly greeted by our wonderful friendly Italian neighbours Rita and Pasquale, who live directly behind our home and are always available if you have any problems. Unfortunately we wont be there to greet you in person as we live in Switzerland, however we will be contactable by telephone 24/7 to help with any questions or queries you may have. Its always a pleasure to hear from our guests and how they are getting on.

Rita has an 'orto' and can supply you with seasonal fresh vegetables, as well as her pure homemade (no headache) red wine. Plus she breeds her own rabbits and chickens!

There is also a daily bread delivery service which can easily be organised.

A car is essential as our local shop is a 5min drive away.

Bigger supermarkets can be found close-by in Murisengo and Cocconato.

There are two restaurants in short walking distance.

There is plenty of place to park in our courtyard.

The North West Italy region

Throughout the year there are many festivals in our area.

From September there are wine festivals, the most famous being the Douja D'Or in Asti, and local to us in Cocconato. We are close to other major wine towns such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Gavi and Dogliano for its Dolcetto.

We can organise wine tasting for you at some of our local cantinas.

October is the month for the truffle festivals in nearby Montiglio, Murisengo and Montechiaro. Throughout the summer every village has their own festa where you can eat, drink, dance and mix with the locals.

In April there is usually a music festival 'Castello di Musica" in Montiglio, that welcomes musicians from around the world.

There is a public swimming pool, 10mins drive away in Montiglio, Lago di Codana.

Horseriding is at La Ciocca, Tonco, 20 mins by car.

Turin and Milan are lovely day trips.

Lake Maggiore is only 1.5hours away by car.

We live in the heart of Piemonte bordering on 3 provinces Torino, Asti and Casale Monferrato. The area is completely unspoilt and is the rustic Italy that you can only dream about, what with the wonderful views, the friendliness of the people and the overall charm that is unique to this area.

It's a gastronomic gem, surrounded by restaurants and agriturismos specialising in Piemonte specialities. Hordes of cars drive from Turin on a Sunday to eat at our local restaurants and also the local agriturismo, Celestin del Nonno, where you can enjoy a 10 course meal consisting of cured meats, cheeses, homemade pastas, meat courses farmed by them, and their home made wine at an incredible low price!

Every day there are markets in the surrounding villages where you can buy local produce, fish, etc.

For cyclists and walkers, we are surrounded by rolling hills, picturesque villages with pitstops where you can enjoy an aperitivo!

"Worst holiday weve ever had"

The worst holiday weve ever had. We had 10 days booked here recently but left on day 4. Many things not really as described in the write-up but we overlooked them as you sometimes do, but rel… More

We are really sorry that you have written this but the problem could have been solved if we had been informed about it before your sudden departure.

Yes , in high summer in Piemonte there are wasps, but between guests arriving and departing we treat the house with repellent.

Guests who stayed either week, before and after had no wasp issues.

The TV is not advertised since it only works with DVDs as satellite signal reception is poor.

Mobile phone reception is not a problem in our area.
