Sleeping four people in comfort, there is also ample room to include a childs cot (or single bed) in either bedroom. (The Apartment could easily sleep many more, but space is one of the luxuries we offer you). Clothes washing facilities are available. There is television for use with UK Satellite (free to view channels) and also a DVD player with a comprehensive DVD library for you to order and borrow from. We also have WiFi capability if you wish to bring a laptop. If it is chilly, there is a wood burning stove and other heaters to keep you warm and cosy! LaMoulere is a very gracious "Master" House converted into apartments 30 years ago. It benefits from being set back off the road in the middle of a beautiful garden with specimen, full sized trees. There is an above ground pool, available 6 months of the year. Included is use of the barbeque. Soueich is a charming village set in the middle of some of France's most gorgeous countryside, with the High Pyrenees a short drive away. There are a host of activities available in the area (Cycling, Walking, Canoeing, Tennis, White Water Rafting, Parapente (Parascending), Fishing, Bird Watching and Golfing). Alternatively, just use this wonderful area to thoroughly relax in! There are shops close by to purchase all that you will need. Cafes and Restaurants are also very convenient in nearby Aspet, St.Gaudens, Encausse and Sauveterre. LaMoulere is "one of a kind" and provides stylish and well furnished accommodation that will please all discerning visitors with a very warm welcome. The Midi-Pyrenees / Haute-Garonne region
The Haute Garonne, particularly this area has a very agreeable climate. Summer is usually very hot with a lot of sunshine, a bit of rain (to cool everyone off and to keep this area lush and green). It is only now being discovered by the British, for the outstanding area that it is, with fabulous scenery, ranging from awesome mountain views, valleys covered in mainly decideous trees and a great number of large rivers which sparkle in the sun. The rivers include the Garonne, Gers and Job, amongst many other smaller tributaries. Autumn is quite beautiful ... usually a bright blue sky forms a backdrop to the most stunning array of colours! Spring to early summer (May, June) is a joy and the air is fragrant because of the blossoming of the vast number of trees in the area. This area (known as the Comminges) has many historical sites, the closest being St.Bertrand de Comminges (a magnificent medieval cathedral town with roman ruins). Other notable "sites of interest" include Lourdes, Foix, Luchon, St.Lizier, Carcassone, etc., all easy to reach. Spain is close by, offering many tourists with the opportunity to purchase cheap goods, whilst in the middle of stunning "Spanish" Pyrennean scenery. The roads are all in good condition and are not busy. It is an ideal location to drive, to "lose" yourselves and enjoy the calming tranquility of the "Pays de Comminges".
Aspet / Soueich area
Soueich itself is a charming village with delightful, friendly people. It has it's own little shop and the local bar is usually open for you to quench your thirst after a walk around the village. The river Gers runs through the village and there is a very attractive church nestling on it's banks. The surrounding views are stunning.
Only 3 km away is the mountain town of Aspet, with many more shops. There are also cafes and restaurants. It is very attractive indeed and is the starting point for many wonderful trips into the High Pyrenees and beyond. Local activities include Walking, Fishing, Cycling, Horse Riding, Parapente (Paragliding), Golfing (about 3 mins drive away), Tennis, Canoeing, etc... (we have a key to the local tennis court)
How to get there
BY AIR: Toulouse is our closest Airport (1 hour and 20 minutes away at most), but Pau is also close and probably would not take much longer. THE FOLLOWING AIRLINES FLY TO TOULOUSE: - BRITISH AIRWAYS - www.britishairways.com - EASYJET - www.easyjet.com - AIR FRANCE - www.airfrance.co.uk
THE FOLLOWING AIRLINE FLIES TO PAU: - RYANAIR - www.ryanair.com
I know of other operators, but most of these will not fly directly and you will have to make at least one stopover. To find the cheapest fares, I suggest utilising the Internet .
BIARITTZ and CARCASSONNE AIRPORTS are also good options to choose from at the moment!
CAR RENTALS: - Car rentals are easy to arrange from all airports. - Internet sites of interest are: www.france-car-hire-rental.com, www.car-rental-hire.co.uk, www.europcar.co.uk, www.easyjet.com
Again, there are many others but these named sites can at least provide a benchmark of likely costs.
Both Airports are close to the main Autoroute for the Pyrenees the A64 When you are on the A64 : - Head towards Tarbes/Lourdes from Toulouse - Head towards Toulouse from Pau We are very easy to find, being about 10 miles from the Autoroute exit this is: JUNCTION 18 signposted to St.Gaudens Once you have left the Autoroute, follow signs for Aspet. Full instructions to reach the house will be sent to you after confirmation of your booking.
BY ROAD: - From Calais, Caen, Cherbourg, Le Havre and St.Malo (Ferry Ports) and Sangatte-Calais (Euro Tunnel) plan your route to proceed to the following large cities/towns. You are eventually aiming to get to Toulouse and then from there, onto us.
PARIS, ORLEANS, BOURGES, LIMOGES, TOULOUSE From Toulouse, head for Tarbes/Lourdes and pick up the main A64 Autoroute. Head for St.Gaudens Junction 18. Get off at Junction 18 and follow signs for Aspet. (full instructions will be sent as per above)
It is possible to get to us by Train - St.Gaudens has a station.

Further details outdoors: Although we have stated "shared" garden - you will in fact be the only guests at LaMoulere. The garden is shared with the British owners, who are happy to respect your privacy. The garden has plenty of furniture and you are encouraged to feel at home and enjoy LaMouleres "ambience" - lunch is a delight to eat outside nearly all year round. The pool is an above ground pool (7m x 4m...so not small). This is fenced off for safety. As LaMoulere is in a village, whilst pretty, you do not get a "view" as such, although the surrounding area is very lovely, with views of the local tree covered hills. LaMoulere's garden is in itself very attractive with it's large, mature specimen trees (It has been described as a small park!) - ideal for shade in the hot sun! The shared tennis court is the village tennis court - we have a key for your use.
Further details
Swimming pool will only be available Spring, Summer and early Autumn. Owners have three dogs - all Russian Borzoi. They are large, elegant dogs, but very very gentle indeed and can be trusted with children and adults alike. They can meet you or can be enclosed away in the field next door, if you do NOT want to be disturbed. They live in the ground floor of the barn which is situated adjacent to the house.
Conditions
We have stated that families/couples are preferred and this of course can include small children. However, some caution should be taken as this is a first floor apartment and therefore, regrettably, we must say that the Apartment is not suitable for children of 3 or under. This is because it is a first floor Apartment and there are floor to ceiling french windows - however, they do each have a safety balcony. Smoking is permitted on the balcony - in deference to other guests. We certainly don't mind! We do require a refundable breakages deposit of 200 Euros, payable with your final payment. Only serious damage will constitute using this - Greek Parties!. We understand about the odd broken glass and cup!! (We break enough ourselves!) Normal changeover day is Saturday, but in the mid seasons - we are happy to take visitors anytime. As flight costs appear to now be at a premium, I can also be flexible during summer - do ask! It is appreciated if you aim to arrive between 2-6 pm on the afternoon of your arrival. If these times are not convenient or you have problems en-route, simply let us know so that we can be sure to be here to welcome you.
