Home description
A splendid town just 7 km away which is famous for its architecture and was a favourite destination of the most famous English poets. Beautiful views over the countryside and over Monte Grappa. Peaceful position. The house is surrounded by2 ha of woods with a beautiful and equipped lawn, table tennis, BBQ. Excellent location for discovering the cultural heritage and gastronomic delights of this part of the Veneto region. Parking.
When you arrive at La Rovaia, the stresses and strains of daily life disappear as if by magic. The house inspires feelings of serenity, thanks to the greenery and the sweeping panoramas surrounding it. Mount Grappa, one of the most important mountains in Italian history (our soldiers fought there during World War I), both dominates and watches over the view.
Thanks to the layout of the house, you can enjoy privacy as well as the company of others. In the large living room, which has an open plan kitchen, everyone can be sociable, even while doing different things. If one person is preparing food, another listening to music and another watching television, they are still all together and their chatter can criss-cross the room and create a pleasant and sociable atmosphere. In winter, the large chimney is lit in the mornings and left to smoulder in the evenings, and is often used for char grilling, which is always fun.
In summer you can use the outdoor fireplace, created especially for outdoor cooking, and let the aromas of sage, rosemary, oregano, basil and mint waft around you. You can then enjoy a meal in the covered terrace, which has a large table that can seat a hearty number of guests.

The North East Italy / Veneto region
THE ASOLAN HILLS
Historical memories and natural panoramas, medieval views and Palladian villas blend into a single landscape surrounding Asolo. Nestling gently in the contours of the surrounding hills, Asolo is crowned with the soft, warm shapes of a Mediterranean scene of olive groves, vines and cypresses. The hills rise on the plane between Asolo and Cornuda; to the north they are protected by foothills and a little further west by massive Mount Grappa. In stretches covered by woods that have run wild and still bristling with age-old chestnut trees, they extend on one side towards Monfumo, an area entirely covered with vineyards, Castelli down as far as Valcavasia, on the other westwards, in the area of Fonte, San Zenone, Paderno and Crespano.
The sun-kissed peaks of the hills are covered with meadows where, among dog rose shrubs and juniper, heather alternates with highly-coloured anemones. The shaded valleys are furrowed with rivulets of spring water, among the violets, anemones, cyclamen, squirrels, mountain goats, blackbirds, finches etc. In this natural environment bursting with flora and fauna, the changing colours and species that accompany the procession of the seasons are truly striking.
The Asolan Hills and Mount Grappa certainly offer the possibility of excursions on foot or horseback and routes of natural and geological interest, as well wonderful cycle routes.

A TOUR AROUND ASOLO The landscape of art and history
Set in one of the most interesting historical and artistic parts of the Veneto region, Asolo has been part of well travelled tourist routes such as the one that makes it part of the Esagono project for several years now; the Esagono project in particular involves it together with Bassano, Marostica, Possagno, Castelfranco Veneto e Cittadella in the promotion of a very beautiful territory where the heritage of enchanting nature, walled cities, works or art and Palladian villas mix with the handicraft and deep-routed culinary tradition.
The whole Asolo area is, therefore, studded with sites and other cultural and architectural treasures that must not be missed! Beginning in the immediate surroundings of this splendid borough are fascinating mansions and villas such as Villa Barbini Rinaldi at Casella d'Asolo on the road for Maser, a village inextricably linked with the Palladian masterpiece that is Villa Barbaro. Possagno is also very easy to reach.
This is the land of the neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova place deputised to evoke his life and works (his birth house, the Gipsoteca, temple...). Continuing towards Altivole, the monumental Brion Tomb in the outlying administrative district of San Vito is worthy of mention. It is an architectural masterpiece by Carlo Scarpa and stands in the little cemetery of the village; at Altivole, on the other hand, the obligatory stop is the Barco della Regina Cornaro complex, the country residence of the former Queen of Cyprus Caterina Cornaro at the end of the Fifteenth century. In conclusion, at Fanzolo one finds Villa Emo Capodilista, another Palladian work now owned by the Credito Cooperativo Trevigiano bank.
The area is also rich in memories and testimonies to the events that caused plunged these areas into turmoil during the early twentieth century: on Monte Grappa the Monumento Ossario a memorial dedicated to the fallen of all the wars with the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery and the museum; Crespano del Grappa houses the Mount Grappa document centre and Pederobba the French War Cemetery; and then Riese Pio X, native town of Pius X, where the actual house where the later Pope, known as Pope Sarto by his surname, was born is preserved as it once was.
