The Kyushu region

Sakimotobu is a very traditional unspoilt coastal village. It has a wonderful aspect overlooking the East China Sea surrounded by green hills and semi tropical forests. The cottage is on the edge of the village with easy walks around the small lanes and fields. There is a wonderful small river flowing nearby where kids (and adults!) can play, hunt for shrimp or just splash around to cool down in the summer months.

We are a 15 minute drive from the famed Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. There are a whole range of facilities exhibiting the rich history, culture and natural environment of Okinawa many of which are free.

For ocean lovers we are 2 minute drive (10 minute walk) from Sakimotobu beach and 5 minutes from the famed dive and snorkel spot "Gorilla Chop".

You can enjoy walking around the neighbourhood with its array of traditional houses and lanes. A walk up to the viewpoint at sunset. The locals are very welcoming!

Motobu Town is a 5 minute drive away and has most amenities including 3 large supermarkets, a hospital and a large drug store.

Sakimotobu has a hamburger restaurant 'Toto la Bebe' which was recently voted best burger in Okinawa. Other restaurants within a 5 minute drive include Okinawa soba, Yakiniku, Okinawan shokudo (traditional style) and a pizza restaurant with the best view in Okinawa!
