Burnt House Farm
About the home
This 16th Century cottage is situated in a AONB - area of outstanding natural beauty - and located on a hill with stunning views of the North Downs countryside to the front and a large garden at the back. The property has a double lounge with a breakfast area in a bay window and a dining room decorated to the highest standards fitting with the character of this cottage.
The large garden with flower beds, surrounded by woods is partly secluded so that BBQs, drinks in the late summer sunshine, badminton and sunbathing until late afternoon in total privacy is a real pleasure.
3 bedrooms with double beds and 1 bedroom for dressing or additional beds will give the guests a peaceful night to be broken only by the birds songs. 1 wet room and 1 bathroom.
The Pilgrims Way, a walking track through the woods which one could follow, as did the Pilgrims, all the way to Canterbury starts at 300m from the door (distance to Canterbury 15 miles). The area is very peaceful and the beauty of nature is everywhere.

The South East England / Kent region

Definitely the well deserved title of Garden of England. A region of history and beautiful authentic little villages around every corner.
The pretty surrounding villages of Chilham (BBC film sets), Tenterden (antiques), Rye (antiques and harbour), Pluckley (the most haunted village), Leeds Castle, Sissinghurst (gardens), Wye, Cranbrook, White Cliffs of Dover and its castle and many more are a delight to visit.
The towns of Canterbury (cathedral), Faversham, Goudhurst, Biddenden, Sissinghurst gardens offer their restaurants (locals and Michelin stars) and shops.
The Ashford, Kent / Charing area
Charing village is 5 minutes drive away or 10-15 minutes walk and offers 2 groceries shops, a tea room, 2 pubs/restaurants, post office, 2 butchers, 2 bricbrac /decor shops and a chocolate shop. A large supermarket and multiple town shops are 15 minutes away in Ashford.
Lenham village, another pretty Kent village, is 10 minutes drive away and offers a fish and vegetable shop, jewellery and bag shop, a tea room, a fish and chip shop and various other little shops.
Choose from 5 golf courses in a radius of 20 minutes if this is your sport and 2 leisure centres in Ashford and Tenterden with large new swimming pools and facilities for parents and children.
Several beaches are only 30 -45 minutes away - Camber Sands, Folkestone-Whitstable (the oyster destination in Kent) among others.
On a less sunny day, perhaps you might be tempted by the Ashford Mc Arthur Glenn Outlet Centre with over 60 brands shops at a constant impressive discount, or the Dickens World and the Historic Dockyards in Chatham.
London can be reached by train from Charing station direct to Victoria in just over an hour. Or in just 35 mins via the HighSpeed train from Ashford International,
