Where better to enjoy a Pimms and Lemonade or soak up the sun!

Upstairs two well appointed bedrooms both have exposed oak beams and stunning views. In the main bedroom the floor to ceiling panoramic window provides stunning views across open countryside and the swimming lake as far as the Swale. The second bedroom is accessed from the main bedroom, it also have feature exposed beams, fabulous views and it can be arranged as a twin or double room.

Downstairs the open plan living comprises:- the lounge, with two comfortable sofas and solid wood floor, opening in to the feature gally dining area and the functional modern kitchen.

To the west of the cottage you have stable type door giving access to a patio with beautiful scented Wisteria above (seasonal), on which to watch the sun go down. On the patio is a charcoal BBQ.

Located in one of the most beautiful, unspoilt and peaceful areas of mid Kent, Oak cottage provides an ideal base for anyone visiting Kent or London. The fields, woodlands and wildlife of the Landews Meadow Estate provide the most beautiful location, with the benefit of your own swimming lake. From the cottage you can walk for miles in woodland carpeted with bluebells (in April and May), to enjoy the countryside, or just sit and enjoy the tranquility of the private gardens and lake.

Challock is centrally located between Ashford, Canturbury and Faversham and from this position in the heart of the county you are within easy reach of all of Kent's attractions. Leeds Castle is described as the loveliest castle in the world and it is hard to disagree on a sunny summers day, it also has lots for the kids to do, adventure playground, maze and falconry, Dover and Heaver Castles are also within easy reach for a day trip, Canterbury Cathedral or the charming Cinque port towns provide fresh sea air and fish markets, or you can visit any of the many clean sandy beaches around the coast. One of our favorite days out is a trip on the miniature steam railway the RH&D railway which runs a scheduled service from Hythe to Dungeness, being pulled across the romney marsh by a scale steam locomotive is a great experience for little kids (and big kids).

The village of Challock has two pubs, one serving excellent food, also the barn shop in the village provides fresh Kent produce 6 days a week. In the village of Challock and on your doorstep other activities include, horse riding, cycling, gliding (the gliders fly right over the cottages providing a fantastic view of Kent) and the Beech Court Gardens & Tea rooms. For a trip to London, Ashford International station is only 6 miles away and the high speed link will have you in to St Pancras in 38 minutes, bookable in advance for as little as £19 per person.

You could not wish for a more beautiful centrally located base to either put your feet up and enjoy the tranquility or visit all that the Garden of England has to offer.

"Fantastic spot - and so friendly"

We stayed at Oak cottage for a few days and it really is a lovely place, down a quiet lane, in beautiful countryside. Nigel and Wendy who run it were really friendly and helpful, thank you very much!

"Charme british assuré. Accueil très sympathique"

Nous avons adoré notre séjour. Nous sommes restés quelques jours avec nos 3 enfants. l'accueil est chaleureux, le cadre charmant et très reposant. So british !!!

"Great base for exploring North Downs and East Kent"

We had a lovely time. Our hosts were really friendly; arranging to get food in advance from the local barn shop was great. Both for convenience and quality.

As it was February, and rather damp, I look forward to going back at a time when we can maybe enjoy some good weather and sit outside with a glass of wine on an evening. The cottage is secluded and peaceful, with great views.

"Beautiful properties!"

I had been planning a surprise weekend away for my husbands 30th birthday and came across this beautiful cottage! Myself and husband arrived on the Friday and was delighted with the small 2 bed cottage. It has everything you need for a relaxing weekend away, stunning gardens surround the properties and provide a gorgeous view from the bedrooms. The surprise for my husband was that our friends joined us for another 2 nights in the bigger cottage next door. This cottage was equally as lovely and had the added bonus of a secluded garden where we had a few bbq's and played table tennis and bowls! We all enjoyed a long walk through the fields and woodland areas which surrounded the cottages. Nigel and Wendy we're very welcoming and made our stay very comfortable. Not one of our party wanted to leave! We will definitely be returning for another stay! :)

"Peaceful, remote and friendly"

Two of us stayed at Oak Cottage for two weeks whilst studying at ABDO College in Godmersham in September 2012 and have already booked for our next block in 2013. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous, the welcoming off Nigel and Wendy was amazingly friendly and we were made to feel right at home. Nigels directions to the cottage were invaluable! It is lovely to be surrounded by fields and animals. The cottage is remote and feels very safe and secure but is close to Ashford and Canterbury for anything you may need.
It was a bit cold to go swimming in the swimming lake but we sat down dipping our feet in the relaxing atmophere.
The cottage has everything you could want and is very comfortable.

Our stay was fantastic and we can't wait to get down their again.
