Winnow Barn is a delightful property dating back to the 1700's. It has recently been sympathetically converted from a traditional Derbyshire limestone barn and retains its spectacular vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and characterful stonework. It features a large stylish open plan kitchen/dining/ lounge area which oozes rustic charm and style and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The superb country kitchen is well equipped and the traditional woodburner provides a lovely focal point for a cosy evening in. All four luxury en-suite bedrooms have been individually furnished creating an elegant and relaxing ambiance. Crisp white linen and fluffy white towels provided.

Winnow Barn boasts an unrivalled location for walkers and cyclists of all abilities. Being situated between Dovedale and the Manifold Valley and in close proximity to both the Tissington Trail and Manifold Trail there is something for everyone. Other activities nearby include fishing, horseriding, watersports at Carsington Water and family fun at Alton Towers. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Keddleston Hall are all close by and offer an excellent day out.

Come and be spoilt for choice when eating out at the many country pubs and restaurants nearby.

Our guests enjoy the peace and tranquillity of our former working farm where its not unusual to encounter a cheeky pet goat or free ranging hen pottering around beside the spring fed stream which trickles beside the barn. Watching the sunset from the seating area outside the barn is a perfect way to end a relaxing day. For both old and young alike we feel that Winnow Barn offers something rather special.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Andrea (the owner) a message.

If Andrea (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
