This 300 year old cottage was exceptionally well kitted out and very well presented. Personel touches made me and my dogs feel very welcome and at home, with biscuits for my dogs along with wine and chocolates for me left on the sideboard. Milk had been provided, along with tea, coffee and sugar, so no need to dash out straight away to the shop. Also the fresh cut flowers displayed in the window was a nce touch. The enclosed garden for my dogs was absolutely brilliant. Carsington Waters was just 3.6 miles away, providing beautiful scenery walks, and paths suitable for cyclists, and horse riders. Facilities at the visitors centre was very good, and plenty of areas to sit and relax. If you didn't want to drive anywhere, there were ample footpaths to explore in and around the village. Although there are plenty of attractions in close proximity of the village, eg alton towers, I went for the peace and quiet, and this cottage and village delivered 100%. |
