For lovers of the outdoors, there are around 1,600 miles of footpaths across stunning scenery. Discover limestone dales full of rare wild flowers, stroll along trout filled rivers or watch skylarks soaring above heather clad moors. Walking, bird watching, caving, rock climbing, potholing, fishing, sailing, gliding and cycling are just some of the activities available.
The Peak District and Derbyshire have glorious scenery, tranquil villages, bustling market towns, stately homes and a wide range of attractions to appeal to all tastes.
Pebble Cottage is located in the pretty little village of Kirk Ireton on the edge of the Peak District, within 20 minutes drove of the historic market towns of Ashbourne, Belper, Matlock and Wirksworth, .
Carsington Water is just one mile from the cottage with cycle hire, watersports, bird-watching and beautiful scenery.
A fantastic area for walkers with footpaths on the doorstep, further afield you'll find the High Peak Trail, Dovedale, the Tissington Trail and countless others.

This charming cottage had all we needed space-wise, and amenity-wise. We took a walk out the back door and within 10 seconds we reached the public paths. Just a 20 minute easy walk to Carsington Water. A 90 second walk to the Barley Mow, the REAL deal of English pubs (Shhh! Don't tell anyone please!) Cannot wait to come back. One caveat- the twin room is teeny tiny-- I don't think 2 adults would be happy in there- but it was absolutely PERFECT for children or teens, very cabin-like or even tree house-like. They loved it ! Thank you, Lucy!
