Villa in the Vineyard
About the home
There is more to a holiday in Le Marche than a swimming pool.(although we have a pure water 10 by 5 meter one that is free of chlorine and other chemicals ). Meet "real" Italy, ancient hill towns, steeped in history, but not in tourists. The incredible landscape will nourish your spirit and rekindle a sense of wonder at the beauty of the world. The authentic restaurants offer great value for money, and the delicious food will have your mouth watering.
We have a created a beautiful single apartment for you to enjoy whilst you explore Italy's "best kept secret". The emphasis here is on comfort and quality. Large showers, abundant hot water, the main bedroom even has a memory foam bed. And because you are on holiday we will make your bed for you every day and keep the bathrooms clean, If you want we will even make breakfast for you ( and leave it in your Kitchen for you to enjoy whenever suits you).
Villa in the vineyard offers a perfect location for a rejuvenating retreat at any time of the year, (the super insulated walls and underfloor heating guarantee a cosy stay in autumn and winter and the super insulated walls are as effective as air conditioning in keeping the apartment cool in the summer ). As the apartment is situated on the ground floor, there is direct access to the gardens and extensive vineyards which you are welcome to explore.
We have got GREEN CREDENTIALS too. We have reconstructed our house to very high insulation levels using recycled forest clippings (wood fibre boards) and the latest ventilated roof technology which both keeps the heat out in the summer ( it is so effective that it is the equivalent of air conditioning), so there are no stifling hot summer nights with no sleep and in the winter it is cosy and warm, (no freezing cold rooms). All the paints and materials used are non toxic and allow the walls to 'breathe'. We have solar panels to heat the hot water , which also feeds into the underfloor heating. We have carefully reused whatever materials possible from the original house, and have sourced local materials wherever possible. To ensure our guests wellbeing we have a pure water (chemical & chlorine free) system swimming pool with solar heating.
For wine afficionados we have a 'wineshop' with a careful selection of some of the areas best wines. We also arrange wine tastings, cooking classes, and painting/drawing lessons. Why not come for a long weekend wine tasting break.

BookThe Marche / Abruzzo / Marche region
The Marche is on the eastern side of central Italy, a narrow strip of fertile land between the beautiful appenine mountains and the Adriatic sea with a myriad of ancient hilltop towns to explore between. This location creates a dramatic landscape of hills and valleys cultivated over centuries with a patchwork of vineyards , olive groves and fruit trees. This is Italy as it used to be, without the tourists, unspoilt and incredibly beautiful, with warm, friendly and welcoming locals.
Our Local village of Montelparo, 3 Km away, is in the region of Ascoli Piceno it has a bank, 2 grocery shops 2 bars, post office, superb butcher, 2 hairdressers, pharmacist, baker, clothes shop, garage, fuel station and electrical goods shop. The only thing missing is a shoe repairer! . Ascoli is a lovely 30 minute drive away through the hills. We are perfectly placed for a thorough exploration of this southernmost part of Le Marche, in the heart of this stunning area between the family friendly beaches of the Adriatic coast and the majesty of the Sibillini national park.
Here there is so much to do and see that you will wish you could stay longer, from amazing limestone caves, to ancient forts and castles, Roman archeological sites, stunning architecture and beautiful paintings. Hiking, mountain biking or hunting for wild flowers in the `Sibillini mountains. Or if you want to take it easy in true Italian style, there are fabulous family friendly beaches to laze away the days and soak up the sunshine. Hang out in the beautiful piazzas in the nearby towns of Fermo and Ascoli Piceno, soak up the atmostphere and enjoy delicious coffee and pastries whilst watching the world go by. If you fancy a splurge, or doing some early Christmas shopping there are some great bargains to be had in the many top name factory outlets in the region.
The Ascoli Piceno / Montelparo area
Throughout the summer months there is a lively programme of theatre, music (jazz & classical). Not to mention the Festivals in celebration of food and wine that take place in even the smallest village.
There are activities to suit all tastes from Roman archaeological sites and perfect medieval villages,(5mins -60mins) safe swimming at the beach(25mins), hiking in the mountains(40mins), horse riding (5 mins)and golf (15mins). Complete tranquility or bustling seaside towns with good shopping. (30mins).
The local 'Cucina tipica' deeply rooted in the peasant tradition provides a wealth of high quality dining experiences, or if you prefer lunch at home our local butcher is renowned for his delicious 'porchetta', (rolled pork with wild herbs and roasted in a wood fired oven to perfection).

The apartment at the Villa in the Vineyard is lovely with all of the conveniences necessary. The hosts were welcoming and the location provides easy access to both the mountains and the beach. This in addition to a beautiful view from the patio where we enjoyed breakfast and and evening glass of wine makes the Villa a place worth returning to. |

We stayed at the Villa in the Vineyard in late July and had a super holiday there. The owners were very friendly and the villa itself was fantastic. Very well equipped, comfortable bedrooms and lovely bathrooms. The kitchen was FULLY equipped, which is so often not the case in holiday rental properties. There is a swimming pool at the villa, which is fenced off so access can be controlled effectively for the younger members of the family - which is great. The location is good, with a couple of shops in the nearby village and then a supermarket a few more kilometres away. The costal town of Pedaso, about 25 minutes drive, has a good beach (with a railway line behind it, every little boy's dream?!) where the kids can play in the water safely and a great Gelateria, plus all the usual facilities. Would we go back? Yes! |
