About the home

The Barn is a large period barn conversion set on the edge of a farm on the outskirts of the village of Walberton. The property is full of character, with exposed beams and log burners being just two examples of its many features.

There is a super farmhouse type kitchen which is well equipped and there is also an impressive dining hall which benefits from having a log burner. There is also a large drawing room, ideal for entertaining, and the galleried landing on the first floor provides extra ancillary sleeping. In all, the accommodation comprises a dining hall, kitchen with breakfast area, drawing room, a ground floor bedroom and bathroom, large galleried landing with further sleeping area, and three further double bedrooms on the first floor, together with an en - suite bathroom and shower room. There is a very pleasant private courtyard garden to the rear, edged by neighbouring cottages. There is ample parking to the front, which benefits from very pleasant rural views over the farm. This property is ideal for two families sharing a holiday, or for a business seeking substantial accommodation for events or conferences. There is so much to do in the area, with excellent road and rail links nearby.

The South East England / Sussex region

This part of the south east of England enjoys some of the best weather in the U.K. and has numerous places of historical and scenic interest to visit.

London is easily accessible by both car and train and there are three airports within about an hour's drive. Portsmouth, home of the famous Victory ship, is about 40 minutes away and Brighton, with its eclectic array of shops, is about 1/2 an hour's drive.

Chichester is about 15 minutes' drive and has museums, a Festival Theatre, and sports facilities.

The Arundel / Walberton area

Walberton has a variety of pretty period properties, a useful parade of shops and a picturesque village pond as well as the obligatory village pub. The nearby historic town of Arundel has some fascinating shops along with the internationally famous castle, lovely wetlands wildlife park and a cricket ground where county cricket is played. There is an annual festival which attracts visitors from all over the world.

The many attractions at Goodwood, including the Festival of Speed and horse racing is only about 15 minutes' drive and there is also a race course at Fontwell, only 5 minutes' drive away. The cathedral city of Chichester with its varied shopping centre and Festival Theatre is about 15 minutes' drive. Brighton, Portsmouth and London are all easily accessible by rail or car. As well as having access to the downs withjin a few minutyes' drive, the stuinning coastline is only ten minutes' drive away, with the beach at Climping nearby.

The sandy beach at West Wittering is about half an hour's drive.

There are good road links to Chichester, Arundel and London, as well as Brighton and Portsmouth. There is a mainline train station in Arundel, just a few miles away, and Gatwick airport is about 50 minutes' drive.

“A perfect location in beautiful Sussex countryside.” We stayed for one week on a family holiday 10 of us including 3 small grandchildren. The service we received from the booking agent in helping us to find The Barn and dealing with our enquiries was excellent. The Barn was all we hoped it would be, lots of space for the children to run and play inside and outside in the enclosed yard allowed everybody to relax. The accommodation was as described, well furnished and well equipped for all our needs we fell in love with it the moment we walked in the door and really felt at home. Some up to date tourist information would have been helpful as although we new the area we were not up to date with all that this part of Sussex had to offer. We will definitely consider another visit and be happy to recommend The Barn to any family group considering a stay. “Fantastic Property” I stayed at the Barn with a group of 9 female friends (30+) for a quiet weekend away. It is in a lovely location and is extremely well equipped. It was certainly big enough for us and could have easily accomodated more people. Everyone said that they would like to return and would be great for a large family holiday. Although its in a small village it is really close to Barnham station and taxis into Arundel were really reasonable. I'm just trying to find an excuse to go back!
