The South East Ireland / County Wexford region
The Sunny South East has the highest average hours of sunshine in Ireland and the mild winters attract geese, ducks and a huge variety of birds and many exotic plant species.
The long coastline has miles of sandy beaches, coves and harbours and is dotted with castles and abbeys, many of which were built to protect the historic towns and settlements upstream. Inland the rich rolling countryside is a patchwork of fields, river valleys and hills.
At JFK Arboretum, near the farm, the viewing point affords views of the 5 counties that make up the South East region: Wexford, Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow and Tipperary.
The Blackstairs and Comeragh Mountains are very popular with hill-walkers, as are the many waymarked walking trails in the area. Hook Peninsula and Wexford Sloblands are wonderful areas for birdwatching and the Rivers Barrow, Nore and Suir provide excellent fishing for brown trout and salmon. Coarse fishing nearby is very popular, and sea angling is widely available along the coast. Water sports include wind surfing, diving, sailing and local boats can be chartered for scenic boat trips for whale & dolphin watching.
The farm is in easy reach of Waterford City, capital of the region, and Kilkenny City, medieval capital of Ireland, and the Viking town of Wexford and with Dublin and Cork less than 3 hours drive away the farm makes an ideal base to explore the whole South Eastern corner of Ireland.
Arthurstown area
The ancestral home of former U.S.A. President John F. Kennedy is just 2 km from the farm, and the beautiful Arboretum/Park nearby bearing his name is well worth a visit, having panoramic views of the five counties comprising South East Ireland and its coastline.
The Hook Peninsula with its rocky coast, small safe sandy beaches and colourful fishing harbours stretches south from Arthurstown to Hook Lighthouse, and Duncannon blue flag beach is 12 km from the farm.
The many historic abbeys and castles nearby include Dunbrody Abbey, Tintern Abbey, St. Mary's Abbey in New Ross, Jerpoint Abbey, Duncannon Fort, Johnstown Castle and Reginald's Tower.
There are more than 10 Golf Courses within 40 km of the farm, the nearest being New Ross Golf Course, and the most famous being Mount Juliet in County Kilkenny, and there is also a Par 3 Course, Pitch & Put and a good Driving Range nearby.
There is an excellent equestrian centre close to the farm, and Horse Racing at Tramore, Gowran Park and Wexford Racecourses.
Campile Village 4 km away has shops, restaurants, pubs an a post office, while New Ross, 9 km is a busy market town and is home to Tall Ship "Dunbrody" where actors re-enact the hardships of transatlantic crossings of the 1840s.
The annual New Ross Dunbrody Festival takes place in July, Duncannon Sand Sculpting Festival in August and in early summer Duncannon Fort is the backdrop for colourful historical re-enactments.
This is a quiet, peaceful location, away from it all yet near to amenities with many interesting places to visit.

"The Coach House is a gem, surrounded by beautiful gardens & green countryside and yet within easy reach of many attractions. I had forgotten how beautiful Wexford is, would recommend a visit to Hook Head and the lighthouse and the lovely little village of Ballyhack with its car ferry crossing to Waterford. Roger & Patricia are very friendly and helpful without ever being intrusive." DF - Ireland
"We have fallen in love with the cottage, the area and surrounding areas... The Coach House is a credit to Roger & Patricia and they have been excellent hosts, they gave us space whilst always being around if needed. We particularly loved the peace and quiet all around us, disturbed only by the cows! Beats traffic noise any day.. Many thanks." LK Ireland
"Third visit - it just gets better. Coach House is just perfect. View from JFK Park hill is something else & Waterford Glass ideal on wet day. Really enjoyed our stay & everything at Warren Farm fantastic." LMacN. U.K.
