Home description

This luxury villa sleeps up to 8 people in ample sized rooms, with use of wooden flooring and traditional stone walls. The house has been tastefully furnished with influences from Morroco and Indonesia giving it an luxurious, exotic feel. There are mature gardens which include fruit trees & bushes such as Mango, Banana, Guava & Lime (a bonus if you are here at the right season!) There is a shared pool area, this includes a 10 meter lap pool, jet pool, sun longers, gas BBQ, kitchen, dining and chill out area. The house in set on an estate of 30,000 meters of land and has a number of friendly farm animals, such as free range hens that deliver fresh eggs for breakfast every morning, bunnies and the on-site donkey, who happily provides rides for children .
The area was originally farming land and has two natural wells, the house is in fact a fully restored Aljibe 'Water Deposit' and has been styled using local volcanic stone and wood. It has impeccable green credentials as everthing is efficiently powered by solar and wind energy.
Arrieta village is within walking distance and has the beauty of being a Canarian Fishing Village, with plenty of restaurants serving local cusine and fresh seafood, supermarkets, bakers & sea front tapas bars. A wonderful place to holiday and experience the true Lanzarote.

The Lanzarote region

Lanzarote off the northwestern coast of Africa is blessed with abundant year round sunshine, cooling trade winds, volcanic peaks and stunning child friendly beaches ranging from fine white sand to black volcanic sand. The Island is 37 miles long and 20 wide it is a perfect year round destination for sun seekers and water sports enthusiasts. There is a wealth of things to do on Lanzarote from spectacular sight seeing to diving, snorkeling, windsurf, kite surf and surf etc...
Arrieta Village is about 10 minutes walk from the house, at the end of the beach. It is a traditional fishing village, and has become well know for its sea front fish restaurants and its quaint canarian feel. The village also offers a diving school, coffee shops, supermarket, Pizza take away, beach bar, numerous restaurants etc... The restaurants are open everyday from Noon until 9pm and do get booked up for the weekend lunches so it is always best to book a table!!

Arrieta area

Attractions within 10 Min's drive include the Bird Park , Cactus Garden, Mirador del Rio, Green Caves and the Valley of a Thousand Palms. In The mountain village of Haria there is a Saturday morning local craft market here you can see various craft men at work. The village of Arrieta boasts one of the best family beaches on the island which has a tapas beach bar and restaurant, toilets and shower facilities. This is a stunning location to enjoy the unusual black sands and the scenic mountain landscape of rural Lanzarote. The historic village of Teguise, where you can take a stroll through the meandering lanes and watch local artists at work or visit the Sunday Market, is a 15 min drive. The island's capital is 30 minutes drive, where the airport is located. The island's only 18 hole golf course, situated in Costa Teguise, is a 15 min drive away.

You are able to take a Taxi from the airport or we can arrange a VIP pick up which includes a bottle sparkling wine so you arrive in style at your villa.
We can also arrange car hire for you & can send you detailed directions. If you have any problem en-route then just call!! The house is approx 30 mins drive from the airport.

The villa has been loving restored to a very high standard using local stone and wood for its floors and walls. It is set on one level and is very spacious being 200 meters in size and due to it solid stone walls keeps cool in summer and warm during winter.
The villa has a bespoke hard wood/granite fully fitted kitchen with grill, 4-ring stove, fridge/freezer, oven, toaster and washing machine. There is a granite topped breakfast bar with views from the kitchen over to the gardens. The spacious lounge has hard wood floors and double patio doors leading outside. The lounge has unusal features including a double Indonesian day bed and columns, Moroccan coffee table and a metal antique internal window. This room has also has a comfy double sofa bed for extra guests. Through the large hall way you can access its master bedroom which boasts fantastic mountain views, hard wood floors, antique furniture and has a large 160 double bed, other features include large built-in wardrobe and en-suite Bathroom with Jet bath and walk in shower. Its second shower room has walk in shower and both bathroom are fitted with Italian designed glass/steel sinks and Moroccan mirrors.
The villas second bedroom has 2 single beds, wooden floors and hand painted Chinese furniture. There is also plenty more accommodation on site if you require more sleeping space.

You enter the 30,000 meter estate via electric gate and pass the first independent dwelling and on up the drive to your house. The villa has its own mature garden, terrace, sun loungers, BBQ, and outdoor thatch covered 'breeze house' dining area with sea views. There is an additional shared pool area which has the chill out area and entertaining-suite consisting of the solar heated pool with jet pool, covered Polynesian style day bed, gas BBQ, covered 2nd Kitchen, dining table for 8 people, music system, a guest toilet with shower and Moroccan style seating. This area is also set with mature gardens, sun loungers and panoramic sea and mountain views.
This fabulous location overlooking the beach just a two min walk to the sea in the north of the island. The estate runs on wind and solar power and is a unique example of sustainable living. There are 30 solar panels, batteries and 2 large windmills. This rural location is a perfect setting for a relaxing holiday in the country with the beauty of being next to the beach. There is also an added bonus of farm eggs every morning from our free range hens and for our younger guests there is a play park, trampoline, ping-pong table, bikes and donkey all on site to keep them entertained. This area of Lanzarote is fantastic for walking/mountain biking etc. Or maybe you just want to relax and read a good book next to the pool in peaceful surroundings.

As this is an Eco retreats we encourage our guests to be aware of the electirc they are using so high energy consumption items such as hair driers and microwaves are not supplied as standard, but these can be made available on request.

Eco Villa, Our week at the Eco Villa at the Finca de Arrieta showed us a side to Lanzarote that most people don't know exists - not a package tour, coach party or ugly hotel block in sight...just sandy, unspoilt beaches, fantastic local food and drink within spitting distance and hosts who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. As for the Finca itself, we loved the fabulous design and decor, organic fruit and vegetable garden and free-range hens (almost everything you need to prepare the perfect tortilla espanola!) and the kiddie-friendly animals on site (great entertainment for our two under-fives) - and it's all run on wind and solar engergy! A fantastic example of eco-tourism and sustainable living that's not just good for the environment, but stylish and comfortable too. Can't wait to return.


Eco Villa, I just returned from a wonderful 10 days with my friend Aria, staying in the Eco Villa at the Finca de Arrieta. We looked for weeks at all options in the Canaries before choosing to stay at Arrieta, because we wanted sun but didn't want to end up in a sprawling tourist development. We were delighted with our choice; the villa was spacious and well appointed and Michelle and Tila and their family were very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed mixing with the other guests in the communal areas also - thanks again Simon for the amazing barbecue! The fresh eggs were a highlight for me as was the fact that we were in an area that felt ''unspoilt''. We will deffinately return.

We loved staying in the house, loved the north of the island, it lived uo to our expectations and more! From Anne and Family, New Year 2008.

Thanks you so much for a memorable stay at Finca de Arrieta. The children were fully entertained with the Trampoline, Pool and egg collecting every morning.
