The Lanzarote region
Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Islands, located just 80km off the coast of North West Africa and offers year round sunshine and temperatures that rarely drop below 20 Celsius, even in winter. It boasts over 90 golden sand beaches as well as plenty of unique visitor attractions - many of which were created by the famous local artist Cesar Manrique. Along with lots of natural wonders such as the Timanfaya Volcano Park and the Valley of 1000 Palms and historic towns such as Teguise, the former island capital.
Thanks to local planning restrictions there are no high rise buildings or advertising hoardings blotting the landscape here and as a result many visitors are surprised to find just how unspoilt the island is, especially in relation to the larger Canary Islands. At the same time there are still loads of excellent restaurants to sample as well as plenty of nightlife in the capital Arrecife and the larger resorts such as Puerto del Carmen.
Finca Natura offers an ideal base for holidaymakers who want to enjoy a beach holiday without having to stay in a resort. The beach at Arrieta is just a kilometre from the house, as are the closest restaurants in Arrieta. For nature lovers, there are plenty of walking and cycling routes locally. The valley of Temisa, where the house is located, is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is protected.
Several of Lanzarote's leading attractions such as the Jameos del Agua, created by César Manrique, are within close proximity to Finca Natura, along with numerous natural beauty spots, for example the beaches at Caleton Blanco, just outside Orzola.
