About the home

Villa RocaMar is a house in 3 floors:
Main floor: lounge - dining room, kitchen, 1 bathroom with shower and large patio doors to the porch and to the swimming pool.
First floor: 1 bedroom with double bed, 1 bedroom with two single beds, 1 bath room with shower cabin.
Basement: large tv-room, children play area with a lot of toys and entertainments for the children and two single beds.
RocaMar is ideal so much for vacations in family as for romantic and relaxing holidays. All the rooms of the villa have fabulous views to the ocean. In the high floor there is a terrace to enjoy the last drink in the monnlight . You will fall asleep with the lullaby of the sea.
In the heated swimming pool area there is comfortable sunbeds and a barbecue. In the porch there are chairs and a dining area.

The Lanzarote region

Lanzarote is the northernmost and easternmost island of the Canary archipelago. Although its surface area does not exceed 800 sq km. The diversity of its landscapes atracts the eye.

The original cultivation systems of the countryfolk, who have learned how to overcome the island's sterility and fill the lava with exuberant growth, is another focus of attraction for visitors.
The benignity of the climate sould not be overlooked; an annual average temperature of 22 º C. makes Lanzarote an ideal location for the practice all kinds of outdoor activities.

The Arrieta area

Punta Mujeres is a very calm fishermen village far away of the tourism of masses.
It is the ideal point to discover the authentic Lanzarote.

Fly to Arrecife (Lanzarote´s airport) - Villa RocaMar is 45 minutes driving from the airport.
We can offer you good prices to rent a car
Local buses run regularly between Arrecife and the town.
There are always local taxis available - fare should be no more than 50 euros from/to the airport.

“Not suitable for young children” The property is 40 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes to the beach. Pool is too deep, even for adults, definately no good for young children or weak swimmers. There was no water in the pool... more

“Beautiful and relaxing” Beautiful villa with bonus of a heated swimming pool! Didn't actually go anywhere for five days just soaked up the sun and caught up on all those books you never seem to have time to read.... more

“If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing break try this villa.” We spent a week here with no car and never got further than the next village, Arrieta, which is about a 40 minute walk away. The villa has a good feel to it, is well equipped and the private pool is a bonus. The owners are very helpful and approachable and reply to emails promptly. In Punta Mujeres there are two restaurants and two shops. We only used one of each but would recommend them both, the Restaurante El Palenke where the food is good and the service excellent and the shop furthest from the villa which is well stocked and the staff are friendly. Arrieta provides more choice for eating out and has a good beach. We swam in the sea near the villa where there are a few safe areas. If we were to stay for more than one week then we would probably have needed a car to see further afield. The wi-fi connection is a bit hit and miss so if you can't live without it you may be frustrated. In summary we had a great holiday in this villa and would recommend it to anyone looking for an out of the way place.

“Fantastic house, pool, paintings, area and people :)” We have stayed in Punta Mujeres before and saw this property right on the seafront and wanted to stay there. The house itself is exactly as the photographs on here, and the very numerous paintings around the house gave it a very cosy homely feel - all painted by the owner :) The pool was clean and caught the sun all day until late afternoon. The kitchen was very well equipped (although no kettle) - with a most appreciated dishwasher and washing machine! The house had TV that we could get programmes on in English which was great in the evenings - with some very new films being shown that we haven't seen :) We travelled with 3 teenagers and had a car for the duration of our stay, but the car was mainly used to get to 'La Garita' - the lovely sandy beach in Arrieta, and the more locals beach up near Orzola. There are two shops nearby selling fresh bread and other essentials, and two very close restaurants - we highly recommend Bar Palenke and ate there a number of times, as well as calling in for drinks and enjoyed the friendly family atmosphere. If you want the nightlife then don't come to Punta Mujeres! If you want a 'beach/sunbathing' holiday or for a great base in the north of Lanzarote to explore the whole island (Playa Blanca only an hour away in the car) then you wouldn't do much better than Villa RocaMar. The owners are very friendly, and always reply to emails promptly - very accommodating with any requests we had, met at the villa on arrival and even arrived on our final day to make sure all was OK and that we knew what to do with the keys :) Would we recommend this holiday rental? Absolutely. Would we return here? We have already booked again for 2013 - can't get a better recommendation than that!
