The Goa/West India region
Goa, although India's smallest, less densely populated state, is proud of its prominent global position as a popular tourist destination. Known as the 'Pearl of the Orient', Goa is situated on India's west coast, between Maharashtra and Karnataka, and was formerly ruled by the Portuguese for over 450 years. The consequential influence of the Latin culture that is deeply embedded in its architecture, food and religious festivals, presents the foreign visitor to Goa with a very individual experience compared with any other part of India. It is unique. As well as its amazing history, Goa has a natural beauty with golden beaches all along its Arabian Sea coastline and a verdant hinterland of palm-lined lowlands, framed by mountains and rivers, and a tropical monsoon climate in which to enjoy it all!
There are numerous attractions for all ages including elephant experiences, dolphin & crocodile cruises, wildlife parks and spice plantations, spa treatments & traditional therapies, as well as cultural excursions (churches, temples, forts, museums) & entertainment. So plenty of opportunities to record your memories on film!
