Alto Dos Navegantes is located in the popular resort of Armação de Pêra, a small resort situated between Albufeira and Carvoeiro. Built in 2008, this spacious 2 bedroom/2 bathroom/2 balcony apartment is located on the 5th (top) floor of the complex. It is close to the town centre and is only a 5 minute walk from a beautiful flat sandy beach stretching for around 4 miles towards Galé, one of the longest beaches in the Algarve. The town is a popular holiday destination for tourists & Portuguese alike and is centrally located in the Algarve allowing easy access to tour all of that area of Portugal.
The apartment has been furnished to a high standard and is well equipped, making it ideal for a self-catering holiday. It has air conditioning/heating throughout. The apartment is serviced by 2 lifts and has a phone entry system. There is a large shared pool, children’s pool and outside shower.
Within a few minutes walk of the apartment you will find most amenities including supermarkets, banks, cash points, shops, bars and restaurants. Both Shopping Algarve and Portimao retail park are close by.
If you don’t wish to hire a car but just want to be within easy walking distance of all amenities and the beach then this is a great location for you. The apartment is ideal for families or golf parties, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

The apartment has air conditioning/reverse air heating installed in the living room and both bedrooms. The furniture and accessories are of a high standard. There are also an i-Pod dock, CD player and PS2 Games console provided as well as a Movie Cube with over 900 assorted films and music DVD's.
Full bed linen and towels are included for all guests (the towels are for indoor use only - please provide your own beach towels).

One balcony enjoys sun in the morning and the other in the afternoon / evening. Both balconies are equipped with table & chairs and there are also two loungers provided. All rooms benefit from black out shutters, ideal for those leisurely lie ins or siestas and keeping the rooms cool whilst you enjoy the beach or are out at the pool.
The pool areas are part of the Alto Dos Navegantes condominium and are available for renters to use. There is a large swimming pool and a smaller children's play pool.
Further details
Refundable breakages deposit required of £250 (paid before travel from England) or €250 (paid on arrival when you collect keys from property agent). This will be refunded when you check out of the apartment and contents are all in order at the time of your departure.
Due to the 5th floor location, this property is probably not suitable for young children under the age of 5
Conditions

The property is managed by a local reputable (English) agent who is on call for any unlikely emergencies.
Cleaning and change of all towels and linen will take place on a weekly basis where letting is longer than 1 week.
The Algarve / Central Algarve region


The Algarve is one of the sunniest places in Europe, with over 3,000 hours of sunshine per year. The summers tend to be hot, but there is usually a refreshing breeze by the coast. Spring and Autumn are cooler but still nice and warm, making them ideal times for outdoor activities such as golf, biking, walking. The winters tend to mild but are often sunny, although there will be the odd rainy day any time between October and March.
The Atlantic coastline offers a spectacular variety of scenery from dramatic cliff formations surrounding tiny coves, to long, flat, sandy beaches and marsh areas just teeming with wildlife.
Go inland, and the mountains of Monchique provide a totally different viewpoint (and at times a totally different climate) to the coastal areas. The hilly terrain of the mountains makes it ideal for all types of activities, from off–road biking, hiking and quad biking to walking and simply enjoying the spectacular scenery.
The western facing side of the Algarve is certainly worth a visit. The beaches are beautiful and clean and the scenery fantastic – but be prepared for more wind and colder water! That said, it’s an ideal place for the surfers amongst you.
The Armacao de Pera area
Armacao De Pera was until recently little more than a small fishing village. It is now a bustling and energetic town full of shops, bars, and restaurants all built around one of the best beaches on the Algarve. The long, flat sandy beech stretches in a gentle curve for around 4 miles towards Galé. The town has recently had a major make-over and the main street is now fully pedestrianised.
With the fishermans beach still in use today, you can watch the fishermen landing their latest catch. There is a fish market every morning except Sunday where you can buy your own portion of the catch. The market also has areas for fruit & vegetables, meat and there are a variety of bakers nearby. Just wandering around this area, mingling with the locals, you really do get the feel of an old style fishing village – something of a rarity on the Algarve these days.
Whilst on the beech, during the main summer season, you can enjoy a variety of sports including volleyball, jet skis, inflatable bananas or rings and para-gliding.
Armacao De Pera is surrounded by other amenities all within easy travelling distance. Zoomarine is just 5 minutes by car - a large marine park with sharks, dolphins and other sea creatures. Another attraction for all the family is Aqualand, one of the biggest water parks in Europe. Here you will find the famous Banzai ride, a near vertical drop of over 20 metres where you get to ride on a toboggan. If you’re brave enough to take the plunge then it’s certainly something you’ll be bragging about to your friends! There are also 2 other waterparks within 30 minutes of the apartment.
Golf features very highly on the Algarve, with just about more top courses in one area than anywhere else in Europe. The course at Salgados Golf Club, on the edge of a salt marsh nature reserve, is less than 10 minutes away. Just inland near Alcantarilha, only a 5 minute drive, are the 2 new courses at “Faldo Amendoeira” (The Oceanico complex designed by Nick Faldo and Christy O'Connor Jnr.). Villamora and Vale de Lobo are within a 30 minute car journey.
One of the most beautiful attractions around Armacao De Pera is the rugged coastline just west of the town. You can explore this on foot along the many cliff walks or take one of the many boat trips to see the caves and grottos. Just a 5 minute drive going west from town is the tiny chapel of Nossa Senhora da Rocha (Our Lady of the Rocks) which stands 30m high on a cliff edge above Porches beach. A truly fabulous place to see a wonderful sunset!
Also within easy reach of the apartment are the shopping centres at Algarve Shopping and Retail Park, Portimão. Algrave Shopping is less than 5 minutes past Zoomarine. The complex includes a large supermarket, around 200 various shops including designer outlets, a multi choice food hall / restaurant area and an 8 screen cinema. Most films shown are in English with Portuguese subtitles. Portimao Retail Park is a collection of large stores.
The latest attraction in the area is the new Algarve Raceway just past Portimao, so around 25 – 30 minutes from the apartment.. With Formula 1 testing, World Superbikes and various other motor racing events it’s already proving to be very popular and is clearly set to host many an eyecatching event.
So, Armacao De Pera has everthing you need for a lovely holiday, fantastic beaches, shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars. Being in the centre of the Algrave, it is ideally located for all other amenities and facilities along this entire stretch of the coast.

Faro is the nearest airport – less than 50km away and the journey to the apartment takes around 45 minutes. Many airlines fly to Faro e.g. Monarch, Easyjet, Ryanair, British Airways, Flythomascook, Aer Lingus, BMI, etc.
Taxis are available outside the airport buildings and all of the major car hire companies also have offices there.
Airport transfers can be arranged if required.

Welcome Pack (bread, butter, water, tea, sugar, milk, fruit) can be arranged if required.
A 25% deposit (minimum £100) is required to secure a booking. Full payment of the balance is due no later than 8 weeks before the date of arrival. Provisional bookings will be held for 7 days pending written confirmation of booking and payment of the required deposit. A 'damages deposit' of £250 is required, payable with the final balance. This will be held against any breakages, damage or loss of keys, and will be refunded within 3 days of departure where no damage or loss occurs.
