A detached garden cottage and villa apartment with private patio set in the grounds of Villa Cordelia in Foral. Algarve, Portugal,
Price from £455 to £1195 per week at any time of year. We can cater for a group size of two adults, four adults,six adults to a maximum of eight adults. Just a booking for two persons is welcome at any time. Also a family to include up to three young children under 12 years old is included in in the £455 per week price range.

For a enjoyable Family Holiday ( now with internet access bring your own laptop)
The accomodation is self-contained and private . The dining area is open plan in side and outside the accomodation,there is a kitchen , lounge area, TV flat screen TV/DVD.plus louge area with sofa plus other funiture.
The kitchen area has a gas cooker, with oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, washing machine, deep freeze
and refrigerator. There is dining funiture to include table and seating for a number of poeple . Two bath rooms have an additional walk in shower,each bathroom have bath, wash hand basin, shower, WC and bidet.

Surrounding the Villa cottage and apartment are the beautiful gardens and grounds of Villa Cordelia with fruit trees and shrubs giving an array of blossom and colour. There is also the use of a large private swimming pool with changing rooms and facilities.Children must be supervised at the pool.

The villa cottage and apartment sleeps up to eight adults. However, we can accommodate small children as well . (a child being 12 years old and under)

The cottage and apartment is solar heated giving constant hot water with AC units for heating or air conditioning to keep cool in the heat of the summer For the low season stay also oil filled radiators. In three double bedrooms are ensuite with full size baths, over bath shower in one and walk in shower cubicle in the other two, also bidet in all. The other double bedroom has a man-size shower cubicle. All bathrooms have windows and well as fan extractors. Two bedroom have doors leading to outside private balcony as well as windows that allows a light airy atmosphere. There are three double beds as well as two 3' beds with easy chairs. In the cottage there is a lounge/diner and kitchenette with seating for six as well as an outside eating area with seating for up to 12 people where you can also have bbq. The villa apartment has kitchenette with all conveniences with a panaromic view in the balcony where you can seat 12 people or more. The pool is quite large and we have two changing rooms with showers for male and female as well as parasol and seating also pool side sun-loungers.

To the front of the property is a private patio with patio furniture where you can sit and enjoy the sunny days and warm evenings or eat alfresco. The bbq and dining area can sit a number of persons during your alfresco meal. Also sun loungers are provided to use on the patio area or the lawns to get the best from your relaxing sun bathing while reading a good book or just use your laptop. There is a swing outside the garden cottage and many seating areas around the garden.
There is also private parking to the front of the Garden Cottage for those wishing to hire a car during their stay.
The swimming pool is solar heated in the low season the temperature will depend on hours of sun light
Children must be supervised at the pool by one adult member of the group or family staying, at all times.

The Armacao de Pera / Algoz area

Vila Cordelia is situated in the rural area of Quinta Larga Vista, once the largest private estate in Portugal which was owned and used for hunting with the Royal lodges of the ancient Kings of Portugal. The urban district of Foral consists of approximately 120 large private estates set in their own grounds inter-weaved in the local countryside. Foral is surrounded by orange and lemon groves, vineyards and open countryside. There are bars and restaurants within walking distance and no concrete complex in sight. Within easy reach of the Garden Cottage, Foral, are choices of local restaurants offering a variety of Algarvian country food or a la carte Portuguese cuisine and fine wines. The medieval Castles and towns of Silves and Paderne are worth a visit, plus the ancient market towns of Messines, Algoz, Paderne and Alte are approximately within a radius of six miles. Silves Castle and the cathedral are well worth a visit the castle origins are pre-Roman.
The cathedral still has tombs of crusaders and the site replaced a mosque at the time of the re-conquest. Silves is host during the year to Festivals that include the Silves Beer Festival in the month of July.
There are also gypsy markets held every week at different locations within the area and the Algarve region where you may buy many types of merchandise. Each market town has its own covered market where you
may buy local grown produce and fresh fish. Most markets open early in the morning and are closed by mid-afternoon.
You may want to visit the nearby seaside resort towns or the mountain spa centre of Monchique famous for the outstanding views and the natural spring water that is produced at Monchique. The Villa Cordelia, Foral, Algarve is approximately 45 minutes from Faro Airport using A 22 or N125 by road using a hire car or taxi. INFORMATION ABOUT THE AREA
The parish of Algoz is in the municipality of Silves Algarve Portugal the origins in the Arabic word "AL-Guzz". The names derives from a warlike Asian trible from the middle east whom of whom settled in the area in the 12th century.
"QUINTA LARGA VISTA" FORAL IS FOUND WITH IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SILVES AND IT'S PARISHES.

There has been many archaeological finds in the area revealing much about the past where peeple have lived since ancent times. The parish is bordered to the north by Sao Bartolomeu de Messines,to the east is Tunes and Pera on the south and west . A stream also called Algoz runs to the north from a easterly direction ,and from the north west a tributary joins the stream which is called Barranco Longo.Further on the stream flows under the Alcantarila bridge where the name changes to the Alcantarilha stream. This watercourse finally flows in to the atlantic between Pera and Armacao de Pera.

Apart from the Town Market Place that is open week days there is a large gypsy market held on the second Monday of every month and a fair is held twice a year on the 10th August,the day of Sao Miguel, and on the day of Sao Luis on the last Sunday in September. Algoz has a railway station.

“Ideal place to chill and unwind” We had a fabulous time at Villa Cordelia so relaxing out of the way of the crowds the ideal place to hill and unwind but not so out of the way we coudn't find nice beaches and restaurants and shopping we only stayed for one week but did so much and still came home feeling refreshed, The owners were always on hand to help out and advise on directions and reccomend places to see. The pool was fabulous and the gardens beautiful. A little bit of heaven.

“Beautiful gardens, stunning views, superb accommodation, great hosts” A fantastic find for our annual family holiday (dad aged 89, my 2 sisters, my partner and myself) The large grounds meant there was plenty of space for each of us to do our own thing, whether walking through the gardens, sitting by the pool, or sunbathing on the balcony. The views from the apartment are stunning and I could have spent every day just sitting there. We booked the garden cottage and the apartment for the week and both of the accommodations were beautifully presented and really well equipped. Our hosts Ronald and Claudette ensured we had everything we needed. Ronald stayed up to welcome us when we arrived from Faro Airport at 2am and got some breakfast shopping in for the morning. Now that is a great service...

"We have been lucky to stay in the flat ( villa apartment) above Villa Cordelia
Two good size double bedrooms with separate bathrooms.The kitchen and area is well thought out
and provides for all needs, including breakfast bar,washing machine,dishwasher .Great use of space.

Our favourite area has been the amazing roof terrace space out side,and the beautiful outside eating area with lovely views of the fantastic garden and local area. We have loved throwing open the bedroom shutters in the morning and looking out across the swimming pool and gardens.

Our children (4 and 6 years old) have had a fantastic time in the pool and could not believe their luck to discover an array of lilos,beach balls,surfboards,floats and rubber rings to play with. Our hosts have been great providing a warm welcome and much more. We couldn't ask for more. We will and would definitely recommend Villa Cordelia to family and friends and hope to return one day. HOW TO GET TO VILLA CORDELIA

Faro Airport is a international Airport and deals with most airlines. You can also make your booking to Lisbon then domestic flight booking to Faro from Lisbon international airport if you are travelling to Portugal from out side of Europe. For the guest travelling from Lisbon wishing to stay for a night or two to visit the city of Lisbon and then rent a hire a car ; your journey time by road to Vila Cordelia will be two to three hours by road to include a meal stop on route. Also an express bus service will take three hours. An express train to Tunes Station two hours thirty minutes from Lisbon. Vila Cordelia, by prior arrangement, can collect you from the Station or the Bus depot when or if required.

For those travelling from within Europe we would recommend these airlines as four of the economy flights flying to Faro Airport: Easy jet.com-Bmibaby.com-Ba.com, Ryan Air.com.There are also many other air lines that fly into Faro Airport from all over europe.

To hire a car from Faro Airport we would recommend Budget or Panda car hire or we can assist you if you require. Just email us using the form at the bottom of the advert and ask for info. Please check out your car rental deal in advance.
