Caravela apartments are located just five minutes’ walk from the beach, in the Portuguese holiday town of Armacao de Pera. Set back from the busy main promenade, the apartment itself is relatively quiet and peaceful, situated on the fourth floor with lovely views of the surrounding countryside.It has easy access to all amenities, including the local market for bargain hunting, and many excellent restaurants, particularly fish, for eating out.
The apartment benefits from a large communal pool with a shallow end perfect for the children, grassed area and patioed sunbed area. Leading from the living room and kitchen is a balcony with dining table and chairs and small drinks table, allowing you to dine al fresco and enjoy an early evening drink. With one twin bedroom and double sofa bed, the apartment is ideal for families, couples or a group of friends with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region
The Algarve can be visited all year round as it has plenty of sunshine, beaches, golf courses, national parks and reserves, typical Portuguese villages and the not so typical coastal resorts with plentiful bars and restaurants. It is the ideal location for families as the Algarvians welcome children wherever you go so keeping them entertained during the holiday is easy! The Algarve has over 30 golf courses along its coastline including both 9 hole and 18 hole courses.
History surrounds you wherever you go and the locals are always happy to tell you all about the area and their memories. Getting out and exploring some of the beautiful villages and towns that Portugal has to offer is a must. There is the most westerly point in Europe - Cape St Vincent, the natural springs in the Monchique mountains and the Moorish red fort in Silves. Worth visiting are some of the town markets especially in Loule, which is situated within a splendid, recently renovated Moorish building. Lisbon is only 2.5 hours away by car for the those who want to go a bit further and Spain is an hour away.
Armacao de Pera area
Armacao de Pera has plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. It is a popular place for holidays all year round, even for the Portuguese.
Activities in and around the area include walking, golf, tennis, fishing, shopping at Algarve Shopping centre in Guia, horse-riding, snorkeling & diving, sailing, surfing - board, wind and kite, jet-skiing and relaxing on one of the many golden beaches.
Other activities include 'Aqualand' - a giant water park set among lawns and palms with a huge array of pools and slides,which is located just two kilometres away. 'Slide and Splash' in Lagoa is similar, but on a bigger scale with an excellent water area for very young children. 'Zoomarine', part zoo and part theme park, has some amazing shows and is located about five kilometres away in Guia. A bird sanctuary is located two kilometres away next to Salgados golf course. Some of the Algarve's finest golf courses are within 15 minutes' drive.
The Algarve is famous for its wonderful sandy beaches. Armação de Péra has the longest beach in the Algarve with over three kilometres of long sandy beach and small rocky coves. Praia Grande is a very special place, this long sandy beach is a conservation area and is renowned for its sand dunes that become a carpet of colour in spring with over a 100 species of wild plants.
