About the home

Casa Joan is a home from home located on the corner of a quiet cul-de-sac. The villa is comfortably furnished with a fully equipped kitchen and optional air-con in the major rooms. Local and Sky TV is available, Also provided is a DVD & CD player and Wi-fi internet. The fully fenced garden with large lawn is perfect for children. The pool has easy wide steps down to the large shallow end.

Only 2 mins drive from fantastic beach. 15 mins drive from all activities. Golf course at Salgados 10 mins drive and 2 new courses at Silves 20 mins. There is a wild bird sanctuary and a lagoon at Salgados with a boardwalk and viewing station. A sand sculpture exhibition is held in Pera from April-Oct, a must at dusk when lit up. At nearby Armacao de Pera you can take a boat trip from the beach to visit the caves and watch the local fishermen bring in their daily catch on the beach. Albufeira is 10 mins drive and is a large resort town with busy nightlife. The dolphin show at Zoomarine is a must. This villa is perfect for either relaxing by the pool, going to the beach or having busy days out exploring & enjoying the local attractions.

The villa has a separate dining room which leads via patio doors to the BBQ, (utensils provided), ideal for eating inside in the cool when it's too hot to eat outside. The kitchen also has table and chairs. Both the bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes with hangers and several drawers. Large beach towels are provided.

There is a large terrace upstairs leading from the main bedroom patio doors with chairs, perfect place for your morning cup of tea/coffee. Leading from the upstairs landing is a further terrace which is mainly in the shade, with a clothes airer and pegs. A rotary washing line is in the garden and a laundry basket and pegs are provided. Sun umbrellas are provided together with comfortable sun loungers. There is a table and chairs for alfresco dining with several outside lights. The pool is 9M x 4M. The depth of the pool is 0.5M at the shallow end, 1.5M at the centre and 2M at the deep end. The pool area has an outside shower. You can either park your car outside the villa in it's parking bay, or on the private gated drive in the shade. The area is well lit at night and the gate posts are fitted with lights which come on automatically at night.

The villa is managed by Anna Rose whose office is based in nearby Silves. She is English and her team speak English, (as well as Portuguese, French & Spanish), and are there to ensure your holiday is trouble free. If you would like a food pack to be provided for your arrival, Anna will arrange this if you request one when booking, there is an extra charge of 25Euros for this. There is a manual in the villa with Anna's contact details and information about the villa and nearby areas. Anna can also arrange a cot or highchair if required.

Conditions

25% deposit required to secure booking. Full payment of balance required 8 weeks before arrival, together with security deposit of 250Euros. The security deposit will be refunded in full after 1 week assuming there are no breakages or other damages, the cost of which will be deducted from the deposit. We accept payment in sterling or euros, and can accept credit card payments via Paypal. The villa is available for long term winter lets, please contact us for a price. Pets are not allowed.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve is famous for it's fantastic sunny climate, friendly local people, fine sandy beaches and of course, golf. Chicken piri-piri/grilled sardines with fresh salad and a glass of vinho verde is a traditional feast which is difficult to beat. There are several tourist resorts and activity centres and also many quiet villages with beautiful churches or castles to explore. There is always something to do in the Algarve and caters for everyone whether you just want to chill out and soak up the sun, or have an active 'doing stuff'' holiday.

The Armacao de Pera / Pera area

Pera is a traditional Portuguese village with a slow pace of life. All activities are only 15/20 mins drive away for those who like to be active. The nearby Gale beach is fantastic for walking and there are sandunes to sunbathe in. The world famous sand sculpture at Pera is open from end of April-October and is only 5 mins drive. Nearby Armacao de Pera is a fishing village with many restaurants. Albufeira is the closest tourist resort and has numerous restaurants, shops and a busy nightlife. Silves is 30 mins drive and has a beautiful castle and church which must be explored, beautiful at night. A medeival fair is held there every August in the first 2 weeks of the month. Each local town has a monthly market every Monday, check out the dates in the local papers.

All budget airlines, EasyJet, Ryanair etc from most UK airports to Faro. Local car hire YorCar or Luzcar - collect paperwork from arrivals & car from airport carpark. From Faro airport take the A22 motorway signposted to Portimao/Albufeira. Turn off at junction 8 signpost to Algoz/Pera. Turn left at sign to Pera. At cross roads of EN125 go straight over, straight thro *main road in Pera, past bank & clinic on your right. At Tjunction at end (opposite breadshop/cafe) turn left into typical narrow street. Keep straight on until you come into new urbanisation area with row of new shops on right and 'Cafe Opcao' on corner. Take 2nd left after cafe then 1st left into cul-de-sac. Villa is 1st on left on corner plot. Parking either opposite or on private driveway. Time approx 40 mins from airport to villa using motorway. Alternatively can take EN125 and stay on this road until signpost left to Pera and follow from *above.
