The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve is situated on the extreme south of Portugal. This part of the territory was the last to be conquered from the Moors by the Portuguese King Dom Afonso III, in 1292. Traces of the Moorish presence are still seen in its unique terraces, chimneys and whitewashed houses.

The Algarve is a well-known international tourist centre with its idyllic temperatures (average temperature in winter of 14ºC and 24ºC in summer, rarely going below 12ºC during winter and reaching as high as 28ºC or 30ºC in July and August), which are ideal for playing golf and other sports.

You'll find gorgeous beaches, warm water and glorious sunshine year-round. The southern coastline consists of a long stretch of fabulous sandy beaches, broken up by extraordinary rugged cliffs and fantastic grottoes.

Further inland are hill villages, market towns and agricultural landscapes.

The Armacao de Pera / Porches Clube Nautilus area

Armacao de Pera is traditionally a fishing town and more recently a place for the Portuguese to take their holiday.

Cradled in beautiful gardens filled with exotic plants, Clube Nautilus has an unequalled dramatic front on to the beach and azure sea. A private footpath leads you right onto the seashore and a long sandy beach which stretches for miles. There you may enjoy a wide range of watersports, eat at one of the two fantastic beach bar/restaurants right in front of Clube Nautilus, or simply relax in the sun and swim in the beautiful sea.

There really are only a handful of properties that actually sit on the beach, Clube Nautilus is really unique in this respect.

From Clube Nautilus a short walk along the beach takes 5 to 10 minutes to both the new town, and old fishing town, where there are another two beach restaurants, and dozens more local and international bars, restaurants and discos all of a high standard you would expect in the best known holiday resorts.

Being right on the seafront, Clube Nautilus has fantastic sea views, and is ideal for a break, whether you wish to relax on the beach, enjoy the local food and drink or be more active with watersports, diving, horse-riding, walking, site-seeing or playing golf, there are 35 golf course in the Algarve.

“Good Standards, Hassle Free, Happy Holidays. What more could you want?” This was our second stay at this appartment and shall continue to use. The appartment is as stated in the advertisement and has made our holidays very comfortable and reassuring. From first booking we were delighted with the service, both from administration staff and the complex management. The accomodation is very spacious, very clean and all your needs are there, we have even cooked and enjoyed our Christmas lunch there (with all the trimmings)!! The pool is large and kept clean. The grounds of the complex are maintained to a high standard and have some lovely flowers growing. The location for us is perfect, not too close but not too far either from the town, an easy straight stroll. The fantastic beach is down some steps from the complex and you can walk into town from the beach as well as the road. I could go on......but I'm sure if your looking for good standards, hassle free then you won't be disappointed.

“Excellent, will be returning next year!” Spent 2 weeks here and had a fabulous time. The apartment was lovely and perfect for all 6 of us (one being a small child)! The beach is close by and lovely, the pool is big and was often very quiet. The town was a perfect stroll away and was a pleasant mixture of old and new with many nice restaurants to choose from. “An enjoyable 7 days at a very family friendly resort” Clube Nautilus is an extremely clean complex, The apartment was spacious and room scleab and well maintained. My only slight gripe was there were no locks on the bathroom doors but that is cosmetic and can easily be fixed by the owner. Due to a poor eour/sterling exchange rate, Armaco de Pera was expensive trhis year but thta is not the properties fault which was good value for money and would recommned this apartment to anyone needing 3 bedrooms. The pool and beach are so close to the front door you can ve at eithe rin minutes. A really enjoyable family holiday. Response: Thank you for your constructive comments. We have arranged for locks on the bathrooms as we appreciate our apartment may be used to larger groups. We look forward to seeing you again.
