Home description
This exquisite 18th century stone mas epitomizes provençal life at its most idyllic. Accessed by a long private road, it is very quiet and private, surrounded by olive groves, fields and woodlands and with wonderful views over the countryside. Situated close to Arles, it is an ideal base for two couples or a small family to enjoy a relaxing holiday, while exploring Les Alpilles and the Carmargue.
The house has been meticulously renovated by the owners and featured in several interior design magazines for its provençal charm. The gardens are a delight, planted with olive trees, lavender, roses, as well as cypress trees and pines, and with a swimming pool. In the neighbouring fields the owners’ horses and donkeys graze.
The very spacious ground floor rooms, exquisitely decorated and furnished with antiques, intercommunicate through archways on slightly different levels. French windows open on one side to a lovely shaded terrace, ideal for breakfast and lunch outdoors. The dining area off the kitchen comprises a splendid orangerie, perfect for dining or relaxing and admiring the pool and gardens. The three bedrooms on the first floor all have views over the countryside, and the master bedroom also has air conditioning. Further amenities include satellite television, video recorder and stereo.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Bouches-du-Rhone region
Welcome to the heart of Provence, where you will be able to admire our most beautiful properties from our office. Provence has a magic all of its own, and with its fascinating history, charming villages, its light and countryside of olive groves, fields of lavender and vineyards, the same spell prevails which has captivated artists and writers over the centuries. From the ‘Vaucluse’ department to ‘Les Bouches du Rhône’ one, crossing the ‘Lubéron’ area, we will propose you a range of choices through our magnificent region.
The Vaucluse, bordered by the rivers, Rhône in the west and Durance in the east, is a region of vineyards, lavender, honey, truffles and spectacular mountain scenery. It includes the Luberon Hills, with its picturesque hill villages, such as Ménerbes, Bonnieux and Lourmarin, made famous more recently by Peter Mayles books. We feature some lovely villas in the area, in the countryside, and on the outskirts of the pretty village of Gordes, with spectacular views across the valley. Within an easy drive are the wonderful historic towns of Avignon and Orange with their fascinating Roman and Medieval remains, and famous summer music festivals. A little further to the north are the Dentelles of Montmirail and the impressive Mont Ventoux, visible miles around. The Vaucluse is known also for its fine Côtes du Rhône wines, including Châteauneuf du Pape, Gigondas and Beaumes de Venise.
The south western corner of Provence, the Bouches du Rhône, is what many people consider to be the true and authentic Provence. Still very traditional, this is the land of Van Gogh, Marcel Pagnol and Daudet. To savour the atmosphere of Provence, visit the small towns and villages, such as St Rémy de Provence, Fontvieille, Paradou and Maussane Les Alpilles, with their weekly markets in central squares shaded by plane trees where old men while away the afternoon playing boules. Close by is the spectacularly situated Les Baux de Provence, the remains of a hilltop feudal stronghold, perched on the rocks. We are particularly pleased to welcome you and to offer you an enlarged selection of properties in this beautiful and unspoilt area, both in the central village locations and in the surrounding area.
From our office of Maussane, we are able to offer help and advice on local activities, restaurants and places to visit, to our guests. We are also usually able to arrange for the services of a cook or a babysitter at your property with advance notice.
Should you need further details or have any question, do not hesitate to contact us ; we are at your entire disposal.
