The Gran Canaria region
Gran Canaria is located in the centre of the Canary Islands. Canaria enjoys a spring climate all year round with average annual temperatures that fluctuate between 18 and 25 degrees centigrade. Arguineguin area
Originally Arguineguin is an old fishing town, but has been developed during the last years. Here are some tourist complexes and a large numbers of private houses. Many of the foreigners here stay permanently or for longer periods during the year. There are several splendid fishing restaurants where you can sit near the habour and enjoy a meal and a glass of wine and have a nice view at the ocean. Are you looking for busy nightlife you can take a bus or taxi to Playa del Inglés (Beach of the Englishman), the biggest holiday complex in all of Spain together with Maspalomas and San Agustín, or you can go to Puerto Rico south of Arguineguin. Each thusday there is a big local market in Arguineguin.
How to get there
Fly to Las Palmas Airport - Argineguin is 43 km from the airport. Local buses run regularly between the airport and the town. There are always local taxis available - fare should be no more than 50 euros.
