"The perfect cosy mountain getaway: close to town but hidden away in the trees, far from prying eyes. Incredible food."
This is the ideal location if you don't want to be in the center of a town but you want all the amenities a short walk away. Hidden 3 minutes walk up a secluded footpath is this beautiful authentic wood cabin, featuring an outdoor hot tub and outdoor sauna with a glass wall to view the mountain as you relax after a hard days skiing. It's traditional mountain cabin in style so don' t book this if you want super-modern. But if you want an authentic roaring wood fire and cosy rooms then this is for you. With a genius chef in the kitchen you will feel like you are eating at a Michelin starred restaurant every night. We can't wait to come back!
Thanks for the wonderful review Emma. Very much appreciated and we really look forward to welcoming you back next winter. However, for potential new guests, this review is for Marmotte Mountain Retreat (property number 301743) and not for this property. The incorrect link was used for the review - sorry for any confusion.

"All that was missing was Wall to Wall Snow!"
Excellent accommodation and pleasant, attentive chalet hosts made our holiday great. From the time we were picked up at the airport, everything went according to plan including a very flexible Nanny for our three year old, who was also around for the older children as and when required. It was great being ferried to and from the piste at times to suit us and even being taken to Chamonix on our last afternoon to take the train up the mountain and visit the glacier. The food and the chalet facilities were great and the children particularly enjoyed the cinema room and the hot tub. We felt totally at home - we arrived at afternoon tea time and when I mentioned that we were big coffee drinkers, an espresso machine magically appeared!

"A fantastic experience"
A great team of staff lead by Jon who can organise anything with ease. Chalet Azimuth is ideally located just outside of Chamonix with easy access to the best slopes. We did however explore quite a lot of the area and that involved driving to some spots. A guide is recommended as there are miles of terrain to explore. The Chalet was comfortable, the food amazing and a hot tub was handy after a hard days ‘work’.

Only one word to describe our week in Marmotte mountain Azimuth... AMAZING! From the moment we were picked up at Geneva airport by Jon and his crew. The warm welcome after a long and challenging flight giving us an instant smile since our check-in in Abu Dhabi. During our 1,5 hour drive to Chamonix which only seemed to be 15 minutes due to the mix of beautiful scenery and the informative conversation with Jon about the never ending options we could do on our stay in Argentiere, we arrived at our Chalet where we were waited by our private Chef and hostess who would be taking care of us during our stay here and guided us around in this state of the art chalet with jacuzzi, sauna, cinema room, ... we were threaded by devine fine dining meals, service with a smile, all the information we needed, the chalet being spotless, nothing was too much for them. They drove us around to the many ski options (even to Italy), ice climbing, ice skating,... even babysitting our young one. All in all this is not just a holiday, it's an experience, one I still think about every day. How one week can make such an impact on your life. Thank you Jon and your crew to make this week unforgettable and we will definitely be back next year.

"Luxury, quality and great service"
Arriving at Azimuth after a quick private transfer from Geneva we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the Chalet - it was large, well finished and comfortable with a lovely open plan living space with great views down the valley to Mt. Blanc. The bedrooms were well appointed and spotless and the Sauna, Jacuzzi and private Cinema added a real feeling of high end luxury. We were very impressed! Initially some in the party were concerned that the chalet was not close enough to the town, but the chalet staff constantly offered to take us wherever we wanted to be - In any case the walk back from Argentiere after a few beers took less than 10 mins. In the end, we enjoyed being at the chalet so much that we didn't go out more than twice! We felt really spoiled - apart form the amazing skiing and beautiful chalet, the food was top class - really first rate. I've been skiing for more than 20 years - mostly going on chalet holidays at the higher end of the market; I can honestly say that the food and wine we were offered during our stay was by far the best I have ever experienced. The chef was innovative and produced some truly memorable dishes - the razor clams in particular stood out for me. the thing that brought everything together was the Marmotte team. We met several of them (not just the owner Jon and the staff at the chalet) and they we without fail lovely people. Jon has a real knack of bringing together great chefs and resort staff - they made our stay everything we hoped for - thanks Marmottes!

We had a wonderful week in the Azimuth chalet. The whole package was above and beyond our expectations. The service, food and chalet itself were all amazing. Four course dinner prepared by our own chef and a great breakfast every morning. We were spoilt! Loved the cinema room, sauna and hot tub! Just what you need after a hard day up Grand Montet. Jon and his staff were incredible, friendly and helpful. Always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our stay was memorable. Highly recommend Marmotte Mountain for a luxurious ski holiday.

"Absolutely fantastic; a great host, great staff, brilliant food, excellent accommodation and customer service."
The Chalet is idyllic with very good catering provided. Customer service was exceptional with the drop off/pick up service provided made your ski excursions more enjoyable, as we never had to worry about where we ended up. Overall a wonderful ski holiday experience.

"Beautiful chalet and a great location"
I stayed at the Azumith lodge at the end of March for a few days snowboarding. I travelled on my own as it was a last minute decision to catch the last bit of snow. As expected there were a couple of other groups in the chalet and everyone got on extremely well. The staff, Jason and Rachel, were superb and nothing was too much trouble for them. The chalet itself has a wonderful alpine feel with antique wood panelling the walls and beamed ceilings. Very cosy with some nice modern twists and immaculate throughout. Bathrooms were also of a very high standard. Fantastic views of the mountains can be enjoyed from the bedrooms or with a beer in hand from the jacuzzi. The cinema room downstairs was a great place to unwind after dinner if you didn't have the stamina to venture out into Argentiere or Chamonix for some late night drinking. I personally didn't use the cinema room! Finally the food, as expected, was delicious. There was also a great selection of complimentary wine and beer, or if you fancied you could upgrade your wine from an extensive wine list from the chalets private cellar. Highly recommended! All in all I had a great time and was sad to have to leave. Will definitely be going back again and would highly recommend this chalet to others.

"Total luxury in the middle of the Chamonix valley"
Aside from a slight lack of powder in Chamonix this year we had an awesome ski holiday. After a day up the mountain we came back and soaked our aches and pains in the hot tub - drinks in hand - while admiring the view of Mont Blanc! Planning to head back with the same group of friends next year.

"Highly recommended - couldn't go back to regular ski package holidays!"
We stayed with Jon and his crew in January 2011. There were 19 of us occupying both Azimuth (8) and Hideaway 2 (11). I stayed in the former, which is the newest chalet and it is gorgeous. There's plenty of space and the rooms are equally furnished to a very high standard. Add to that a nice spacious sitting room with impressive fireplace, a cinema/games room, and an outdoor hot tube, and you have yourself a very nice base for the week! I don't think Hideaway 2 is as luxurious as Azimuth, but it was still very nice and the occupants were very happy with it. It cost less money, so you would expect a compromise in furnishings to some degree. The food was absolutely gorgeous each night and Blake, our chef for the week, was very considerate of what people liked and didn't like when he was conceiving the menu. Each morning, a lovely continental breakfast was waiting for us. In the afternoon, we were able to sit down after a tough day on the slopes and enjoy freshly baked treats with some tea. Happy days! Another great benefit was the local knowledge and advice. The staff were able to tell us the most suitable slopes to check out, and they also arranged extra stuff like paragliding and dog sledding. They were happy to drop us off wherever we needed to go, so there really was no stress at all that week. Overall - nearly top marks from me. We're booked in for the same week next January so that says it all really!
