About the home

Argeles is the perfect place to do as much or as little as you like!
You can just relax-swim, sunbathe, shop, eat delicious food and sample the many local wines.
If you want to blow away those cobwebs, this stretch of coast gives you opportunities for walking, cycling, sailing, climbing and exploring the beautiful Pyrenees and the historic Languedoc landscape. Ski stations are only an hour away

Our beautifully furnished and thoughtfully equipped one bedroom apartment is light and airy with a separate sitting room with distinct kitchen area , a clean modern shower room and a covered balcony with views.
Ideal for couples or friends traveling together, but our little guests have enjoyed it too!
Bedroom has generously sized twin beds, wardrobes, bedside table and dressing table
Sitting room has day bed/sofa ( This makes a further full size single bed )
Travel cot and/or small folding bed for little guests available on request .
Stylishly decorated and furnished to reflect the seaside location. High quality bed linen and towels provided, including beach towels, plus beach chairs, loungers, parasol, cool bag! etc to enjoy our lovely beach.

The ideal base to explore French Catalonia with it's diverse cultures & cuisines, Argeles has excellent transport links; from here you can explore the Mediterranean coastline, sun-drenched vineyards, historic Cathar castles, or take a short hop over the border into Spain.
The apartment is just minutes walk to our seven kilometer stretch of beautiful beach and to a wide variety of local shops/bars/restaurants including speciality Thai, Local seafood and Moroccan cuisine . Medieval Carcassonne is less than 2 hours drive away as is the vibrant city of Barcelona

Like most holiday resorts, Argeles is very popular in July & August and the huge increase in visitors in the summer months does mean it's much busier & noisier then!
Out of season you can still enjoy lovely sunny days and the deserted beaches & stunning landscapes look even better

Conditions

We are flexible as regards changeover days as many local flights are mid week, please enquire.
Transfers from Carcassone, Girona and Perpignan airports may also be arranged if required. (Cost payable locally) and we or our representative are generally on hand to answer any queries you may have

Cleaning and changover for towels /bed linen etc are INCLUDED in daliy rates where 7 nights or more are booked in advance- HOWEVER stays of 6 nights or less are subject to a one off changover charge of £70
If you are staying for 8 or more nights we will supply fresh linen and towels in good time for the second part of your stay
We provide a welcome basket of basics to get you started and are happy to cater for special requests, wine, fresh food, special dietary requirements etc

A security deposit of £175 is requested for all bookings-returnable on good report from our on site representative-Any damages, breakage or exceptional cleaning required will be deducted from this. Accidents happen so please don't worry, just let us know!

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region

With stunning views of Pic Canigou and the eastern end of the Pyrennees, known as Les Alberes, tumbling down into the Mediterranean sea, this is a unique and dramatic area of France, offering both traditional seaside activities, such as swimming, sailing or windsurfing, yet with ski stations in easy reach!

With over 300 days of sunshine per year, and summer temperatures up to the 40's the climate really is conducive to the holiday atmosphere. As part of Catalonia, this area was ceded to France by Spain in the 17th century. The local place names and cuisine still show these diverse influences.

The Argeles / Argeles Plage area

Argeles Sur Mer is a classic French coastal holiday resort. Very popular with French families, Argeles retains it's local ambience whilst handling the seasonal holiday makers who flock to this popular stretch of coastline.

The diverse and distinct local districts cater for all tastes from the family friendly beaches of Argeles Plage, the water parks, the bustling markets, the stylish and exclusive feel of the port and marina areas and a short distance inland, Argeles town with it's excellent shops and restaurants and colourful traditional village houses and historical buildings.

Nearest airport is Perpignan, which is approx 30 minutes away. Alternative airports include Carcassonne, Beziers, and Girona in Spain.
Ryannair, BMI Baby and Flybe offer budget flights to these airports from various locations in the UK.

There is a main line train station in Argeles ville (Travel over the border to Port Bou in Spain!) as well as a good bus service to Perpignan.
The area is also well served with good road links.

“Great little bijou residence” The apartment was perfect for me and my girlfriend - a great little place to relax. It is literally a few minutes' walk from the beach and you can walk to Argeles town or the port in about 30 minutes. Collioure is definitely worth a visit if you have a car. The welcome pack was great and directions were really easy to follow. The owners kept in regular contact and made sure we had everything we needed. Their local contact also paid us a visit during the week to check things were OK. Useful tip: you will probably want to sleep with the windows open and the road can be noisy so take ear plugs! Response: Thanks for your feedback-Yes it's true that in common with other properties in the Argeles beach area the streets outside the apartment can be noisy in July & August as the population increases tenfold! We hope to install a wall fan in the bedroom for next season so our guests won't need to leave the windows wide open.

No car needed to enjoy.Lots of places of interest, too much to do for one week- returning next year to explore more. A new place to eat every night! ideal for couples/friends but our two year old loved it too.
