Gite Mimosa forms part of a large white villa which commands an impressive view of the Massif des Alberes to the south and Mt. Canigou to the west.
It is set in a secluded garden with ample play areas and beautiful mature oak trees that provide much needed shade in the hot Mediterranean sun. Although the villa is spread over two floors, the gite is situated entirely on the ground floor with direct access from the garden and south facing patio. It is close to all village amenities, bars, restaurants and shops and also has private off road parking, UK TV, Internet, printer.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region
This region is the sunniest in France with over 300 sunny days a year. Summers are hot , spring and autumn are what we think of as a great summer in the UK. Winters are mild, cool at night but warming up in the day, we often eat lunch on the terrace during the winter months!
This region has everything, from sandy beaches, rocky coastline for diving, the Pyrenees for skiing and walking and Barcelona for city culture.
Argeles / Sorede area
This area is Catalan first, French second and has a rich history and culture. There are many beautiful villages with their weekly markets and shaded squares, ranging from high in the mountains to down at the coast, all within an easy drive.
Sorede has all the shops you need and several bars and restaurants. It has a boulangerie, mini market, grocers, butchers, tabac, post office, bank, tourist office and more all within easy walking distance from the gite.
The gite is ideal for both road and mountain biking being right at the foot of the hills. The perpignan plain to the north offers miles of roads on the flat. There are miles of wide forestry tracks in the hills that are ideal for mountain biking. We have some guide books and lots of experience of routes. (Workshop and tools also available) All these mountain paths are also provide almost unlimited walking. You can follow the GR10 all the way to the Atlantic if you like.
The closest ski resorts in the Pyrenees are only 1.5 hours away and make skiing for the day and eating at the coast in the evening a long but great day out. You can even stop and have a soak at the thermal baths on the route down!
Empuriabrava, Europes largest DZ is just over the border. It's open all year round for AFF, tandem and more advanced courses. It's normally sunny, unlike jumping in the UK!
An underwater national park to the South of Port Vendres means you see many more fish here than in many other parts of the Med. The famous Illes Medes are just over the border in Spain. We can provide information on shore dives and location of dive shops.

The pool is shared the house but this is just occupied sometimes by the owner, not rented out.
