The residence, with its swimming pool and spa centre, nestles at the base of the Alberes massif in the foothills of the Pyrenees, 4km from Argeles village and the Mediterranean beaches. Set amidst a lush green oasis of mature trees and shrubs, the residence of 31 single storey, terraced villas and 161 low-rise apartments reflects the local Catalan style with enclaves of ochre and pink washed façades and tiled roofs. The villas at Les Alberes provide simple holiday accommodation.
The villa for up to 7/8 people is approximately 60m² and is made up of an adjoining 6 person villa and a 2 person studio villa. The living room has a pull-out sofa-bed for 2 people and a fold out single bed as well as dining table and chairs. The kitchenette is equipped with 4 electric rings, fridge, microwave oven, electric coffee maker and dishwasher. There is a bedroom with 1 double bed and 1 single bed and a further room with twin beds, a table and chairs for two and a cupboard. The compact kitchenette, which is tucked in an alcove in the adjoining corridor means a morning cup of tea in bed is readily accessible. There is limited cupboard and hanging space for clothing in all villas. There are 2 shower rooms with WC. These villas are air conditioned inside and have a terrace equipped with garden furniture and sun-loungers.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region
In the far south of France, right at the gates of Catalonia and Spain lies Languedoc Roussillon and Argeles – the place where the mountains meet the sea. Argeles, has 7 km of sandy beach and 2 km of rocky coastline, with the entire resort and its little port classed as a blue flag area with clean bathing, and a beach which is cleaned daily. The seafront is flanked by 12 hectares of pine forest and a 3km tree fringed promenade. Despite its popularity the region remains largely unspoilt, with over 80% of the land still given over to agriculture. Argeles has two nature reserves: the Mas Larrieu right on the coast and the forest of Massane at the heart of the Alberes area. Just 20km south of Perpignan, in one of the sunniest regions of France, you will find sun, sea, mountains, catalan tradition, gastronomy, vineyards as far as the eye can see and a wonderful quality of life in a beautifully preserved environment. Argeles sur mer is the main town of a group of 8 communes nestling at the foot of the Alberes massif. All the villages have grouped together to bring you many itineraries which take in culture, relaxation and adventure sports. There are itineraries which allow you to discover charming ancient villages, magnificent roman chapels, traditional crafts (glass making at Palau de Vidre for example). There is a railway museum at Sorede, a traditional farm at Saint Andre, the tortoises of La Vallee Heureuse, the eagles at Valmy…lots of visits giving you the opportunity to really get to know the area.
Argeles area
The residence is just 4km from Argeles village and the Mediterranean beaches. The lovely picturesque port of Collioure is 10 km away and the colourful Catalan city of Perpignan just 25km away. The Spanish border is 30km away. Argeles, has 7 km of sandy beach and 2 km of rocky coastline, with the entire resort and its little port classed as a blue flag area with clean bathing, and a beach which is cleaned daily. Argeles is officially recognised in France as a great resort for children with a vast range of activities and attractions. Adults too are well catered for with boat trips, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, swimming pool, tennis, horse riding, archery, cycling and mountain biking, go-carting, walking, mini-golf, micro-lite flights, canyoning in the mountains and paragliding. During July and August, when the resort is at its busiest, a little tourist train provides a regular service (every 20 minutes) from the residence to the centre of Argeles & the beach & takes away the strain of driving & parking.
How to get there
Perpignan is the closest airport, just 29 kilometres away, with Ryanair flights from Stansted and Flybe flights from Southampton. Alternatively, there are many more flights into Girona (about 1 hour across the Spanish border) from a variety of UK regional airports.
All the major car-hire companies are represented at both airports. There is no problem with hiring a car in Spain and driving it in France provided that you inform the car hire company. The Spanish border is 30 kilometres away.

Further details indoors: We have a choice of 4 sizes of villas and apartments at Les Alberes accommodating from 2 - 8 people. The villas haven't got washing machines and there is no laundrette on the premises. There are 2 public launderettes in Argeles, that are open all year: Laverie Central Beach av. du Tech-Argeles Plage and Laverie Wash Mary - Résidence Parc de la Mer - av. du 8 mai 45 - Argelès Plage.
Further details outdoors: There is a large swimming pool (open from April to end of September) and paddling pool. Also on site are 7 tennis courts (free of charge and situated down the lane outside the residence), mini-golf, table tennis, a football pitch, a multi-sports area, children’s play area, a small climbing wall and a boulodrome. The restaurant and bar are open for lunch and in the evenings and in July and August offer a twice weekly themed buffet evening. The delightful outdoor terrace makes the perfect place to dine al fresco. Breakfast can be ordered (supplement payable) in the bright, clean breakfast room which is on the 1st floor of the on-site hotel and has views over the residence The spa centre provides a passport to fitness and well-being, with an extensive range of treatments. Between 3 July and 28 August there is a children's club for 5 half days a week (ages 4-11) and a teen club (ages 12-15) with some English speaking 'animators'. During July and August, when the resort is at its busiest, a little tourist train provides a regular service (every 20 minutes) from the residence to the centre of Argeles and the beach and takes away all the strain of driving and parking. The price is approximately 2 euros single and 4 euros return (children under 4 go free) or a weekly pass can be purchased for 15 euros. Aquagym classes and step aerobics are offered in July and August (supplement payable). The price of aquagym classes is approximately 13 euros for 30 minutes, whilst aerobics is approximately 10 euros per session. Mountain bikes can be hired from the residence.
A range of Spa treatments offer the perfect opportunity for pampering and relaxation away from the children. Within the spa, there is an indoor pool heated to 32oC, a fitness room, hydromassage pool, jacuzzi baths, toning jet showers, seaweed baths and a sauna. Les Alberes residents are eligible for special reduced rates (must be requested when booking). It is highly recommended that treatments are booked either in advance or upon arrival as this facility is very popular and can get booked up. Please note that these prices are approximate and are subject to change. Please note that children are not permitted in the spa.
The half-day Formula: (67 euros per person for 2 balneotherapy treatments) and the ‘Get back in shape’ Formula (from Monday – Friday): 304 euros/person for 3 treatments daily are just a couple of the many different options available. Access to the sauna, indoor pool and fitness room are included in the price of the treatments. The Spa centre is open Monday - Saturday throughout the season but closes daily between 12.30pm and 3pm. Please note: restaurant opening hours may be shorter in low season.

Bed linen is included in the rental price, however beds are not made up for you and sheets, as well as any towels or other items that you have hired as an extra, are collected from reception on arrival and must be returned there upon departure.
Towels can be hired for 5.50 euros per person. Please let us know when you book and we will reserve these for you from reception. You will need to pay for these upon arrival. An iron and ironing board can be borrowed from reception. Television hire 30-50 euros per week. Baby pack: 25 euros per stay (including high chair, cot and bath) End of Stay Clean can be requested from 52 euros depending on size of accommodation. Dogs / animals allowed 30 euros per stay per animal (Dogs must be kept on a lead within the residence).
Conditions
A non refundable fee of 25 euros is payable for every booking. A 25% deposit is payable at the time of reservation. Taxe de Sejour (the local tourist tax) is payable upon arrival. A security deposit of 300 euros is payable upon arrival by cash, cheque or credit card. This will be refunded after an inventory check on the day of departure. You are politely reminded to leave the house in a clean condition. It will be checked on your departure and your deposit will be refunded minus any breakages. You may well want to take advantage of the final cleaning service which is payable as an extra : from 52 euros depending size of accommodation.
