Are you imagining having a peaceful vacation on a mountainside with wonderful views of Lake Como and one of its most beautiful valleys? Look no further, you’ve found the perfect place.

The Villa del Sole is a brand new, premium apartment with panoramic views of Lake Como to the east and picturesque mountain and rural views of the 'Valle d’Intelvi,' one of the lake’s most beautiful valleys, . This 120 square metre ground floor apartment in a unique three apartment building provides a private 'getaway' for your family and friends in tranquil, 'whisper quiet' surroundings.

There are three bedrooms (one king, one queen, and two single beds), two bathrooms, air-conditioning, heating, satellite TV, lock-up garage, private splash pool (two and one--half metres by 4 and one-half metres), outdoor balcony, terrace and garden, all for private use for this apartment only. The building has a security gate and intercom. The large lounge has comfortable sofas and leads out onto the magnificent terrace with breathtaking views of the lake and valley. The owners have designed the apartment for relaxation and comfort--a perfect base to relax or explore.

Nature trails lead to old villages and classic Italian stone terraces nearby. The nearest town, Argegno, is in an excellent strategic position only four minutes drive away. It is easy to reach all the other towns on the lake by ferry, bus or car--you couldn't ask for a more convenient point.

This apartment is only a 20 minute drive away from Cernobbio, the world famous hotel Villa D'este and the famous Villa Erba, where many exhibitions and trade fairs are held, the City of Como is a 25-minute drive away. Of course Como is the silk capital of Italy, so there are many silk and textile factory outlets and shops in the town of Como. Milan is 55 kilometres, one hour's drive (less to Milan International airport), so it is also ideal for combining a holiday with the world famous 'Monza Grand Prix', or any other sporting or business events which you may wish to attend in Milan.

All travel information will be provided to guests enquiring about the apartment, as will a welcome book (provided in the apartment) with the local tours and suggested walking itineraries in the area, local information and suggested boat trips.

The apartment is new, the building finished in May 2007 so everything is fresh. It is very spacious and comfortable and in a very tranquil location, with fantastic views. The 3 bedrooms are a good size with 1 king and 1 queen bed and 2 single beds, there is also a comfortable, brand new double sofa bed in the lounge

Further details outdoors:
There is a big terrace running all around the apartment and a small garden where you will find the small private pool, all this offering wonderful lake and mountain views.
The shared garage is big enough for 1 car and is on the property.

We have prepared a very helpful information book which you will find in the apartment together with timetables for the ferries and buses and lots of leaflets with important things to know.
We personally meet you on arrival to show you around, explain how things work and make sure you are happy with everything.

Conditions

If you decide to book, you will receive a rental agreement with the payment details, we ask for 50% on booking and the remainder on arrival. We provide driving instructions and general information on how to reach the apartment.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

Lake Como, surrounded by mountains, hills valleys and cities of art, has much to offer. It is situated in one of the most economically and industrially important regions (Lombardy) in Northern Italy, nestled between Lake Maggiore and Lake Garda, right on the Swiss boarder, framed by the majesty of the alps, where different cultures have merged over the centuries to form it’s unique and inimitable charm. We enjoy a varied climate, generally snowy winters, mild springs and warm summers, but being near the water, never too hot and then we have our mountains to escape to just in case.

The Argegno area

While spending a holiday on Lake Como, you will have the chance to see much more than you would expect.
You could explore its breathtaking surroundings, beautiful villas and picturesque villages…
You could compare it with the less well known but far from less beautiful Lake Orta and Lake Lugano…
You could visit the nearby cities, full of history and culture, such as Milan, Bergamo and of course Como the capital city of the Lake, just to mention a few…
You could slip into Switzerland and pay a visit to Campione D’Italia and its casino, or travel a little further and enjoy the nature in one of the jet-set ski resorts such as St. Moritz.
A trip into the northern mountains to try the local wine and enjoy a ride on the 'glacier express' train which is always a thrilling experience, winter or summer.

The nearest airport is Milan Malpensa, but you can also fly to Linate and Bergamo, Orio al Serio, low fair airlines fly into all of these airports.
Reach Como by train and or bus, or hire a car from the many hire car companies which offer their services at the airports.
Driving from the UK is now easy, quick and enjoyable, we are just accros the Swiss boarder and the nearest boarder point is Chiasso.
The nearest railway station is Como San Giovanni and international trains pass through here every hour or so. You can make it a twin centre holiday and travel by the Italian rail service, which, by the way is very reliable.
We also have a very good taxi service, with English speaking drivers and we will be happy to give you their contact number when you book. We can aslo offer you a taxi service with English speaking drivers in elegant cars, please ask when you book.

We had a wonderful week in August 2008. My family (including 3 small children) loved the house. The kitchen was modern and lovely. The rooms were comfortable, and the views -- wow. We miss looking out over the sparkling waters and hearing the church bells toll over the valley in the morning! The pool was a great way to unwind at the end of our sightseeing each day. We noticed the house got cool breezes off the mountains that we didn't feel closer the lake -- a real advantage on a summer day. Loved it!!

Could not have imagined a more picture -perfect location on Lake Como. Easy access to Como, Bellagio, Menaggio but the dilemma is finding a reason to leave such a beautifully furnished and comfortable apartment with views that take your breath away. Highly recommended as a get-a -way or base for further sightseeing.

Our family spent a week on the Lake in Early October 2007 and had a wonderful holiday. When we arrived the mountains were snow capped and we felt that we had arrived in a magical place. The apartment was larger than we had expected with plenty of room for the 5 of us. The kids loved the pool (though a little chilly that time of year), and the practical touches in the apartment fitout really worked for us. The uncompromising style in which the apartment has been decorated made for a luxurious yet relaxed stay. This apartment will not disappoint, the views are stunning and the locals are friendly and helpful. Silvana and Luigi (managers) were extremely helpful.

We just returned from a fabulous week on Lake Como. The apartment is in pristine condition, and in a superb central location on the lake. Argegno is the perfect little town, with great places to eat and the best gelato on the lake. We felt perfectly safe with our 2-year-old son, given that the deck is completely fenced and gates lock, and the pool is separately fenced/locked. I would recommend this apartment to the most discriminating traveler. Pool was lovely, though a bit chilly even in August. Everything else in the apartment was perfect, and Silvana and her husband Luigi were wonderful hosts. Beds are extremely comfortable (better than most). Views from the apartment cannot be paralleled. Wide open vistas of the lake and the mountains - photos cannot do it justice. You will not be disappointed.

We had an outstanding stay here. The property is new and very well equipped. Silvana, the manager, is exceptionally helpful; nothing is too much trouble. The views of Lake Como are quite spectacular. Days began with reading by the pool and a dip, then lunch in the village and maybe a trip by ferry to Bellagio. Superb, highly reccomended.

We had a wonderful stay in this brand new villa. Everthing was working perfectly, with nice touches for the kids such as PSP2 and a lock on the gate for the villa's private pool. What a view over the lake..we were lucky to find this place with full day sun, unlike most other places around the lake where the mountains make sun rise late or sunset early. Now we know why the owners call it Villa del Sole! Silvana was very helpful in making sure we had absolutley no hassels for our entire stay. We will be back!
