The theme of the holiday is relaxation. The weather, leisurely way of life and jaw dropping beauty see to that. The house merely adds to the feeling of warmth and well being. Every home comfort has been considered from the modern flats creen TV and WI-FI access to the fishing and snorkelling equipment free for guests use!
The village of Argegno is approximately 10 minutes walk from the house with a fine array of authentic Italian eateries, welcoming bars, a mini market, fruit and veg shop, an olde fashioned bakery and the obligatory gelateria..try the nocciola(hazlenut), it's delicious! Here you can indulge in a little fishing, people watching, alfresco dining or take the ferry to all parts of the lake! The bus stops right outside the house so car hire isn't necessary if you prefer not to drive. In fact many guests are happy to put their feet up on the sun terrace, take in those seductive views and watch the boats (and the world!) go by.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Lake Como, renowned for it's glorious views and relaxed, tranquil atmosphere is the perfect holiday location to recharge one's batteries! Writers and artists for years have made the lake their home. Little wonder too as it never seems to fail to inspire with the gentle breezes, blue water and magnificent mountain scenery. People all over the world come to marvel at the lakes outstanding natural beauty but the people, food and lifestyle is sure to ensnare you! Be it beaches, walking, sightseeing, eating and drinking or generally lapping a more sedate way of life Lake Como will leave you refreshed but ready for more!
Argegno area
Como city enjoys it's position at the mouth of the lake with it's pretty piazza's, cafe culture, designer shops, gothic churches. The Volta museum can also be found here as como gave birth to electricity via it's famous son Alessandro Volta. Visit one of the many pretty villas near by be it Villa Carlotta with it's majestic landscaped gardens and varied plant types, Villa Balbianello (as featured in the recent James Bond film)with it's undeniably beautiful lakeside perch or Villa Erba in Cernobbio (the setting for George Clooney's Ocean 12) Other favourites include beautiful boat trips to Bellagio (for silk, leather and art ) and Varenna for idyllic lakeside walks. Further afield will find you in Monza for the Formula one grand prix held each September or at the San Siro to watch one of the Milan teams play football or simply take in the sights of Milan, Leonardo Da Vinci's last supper or glass roofed Galleria Vittoria Emmanule Precint next to Italy 's most prestigious gothic church, the Duomo in the main square
How to get there
Fly from London Gatwick,Stanstead or Heathrow to Milan Malpensa, Linate or Bergamo. You can also fly via Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool and Bradford.
Car hire is recommended but not essential as the bus stop is very close to the apartment and the ferry is only about 10 mins walk. Please ask for more details

Further details indoors: The house built circa 1890 is divided into 3 apartments making it the ideal holiday retreat for large families or groups or can be rented by individual unit. The top floor contains a modern fully fitted kitchen diner which will comfortably sleep 4 guests ( 1double and 1 sofa bed) with dining for 6 in the farmhouse style kitchen. The living room includes large comfy sofa's, a 32 inch flat screen tv with English TV, DVD , internet WIFI access as well as a cosy log fire in winter ! The bathroom has recently been refurbished and contains a shower and WC. Hair dryers are available on all floors.
The middle floor houses 4 more guests with large sofa beds that double as beds at night, a large shower room with w.c that enjoys lovely lake views. The apartment also contains a dvd, kitchen/diner room.
WI-FI internet access is available for all 3 apartments.
The ground floor sleeps 2 more guests with a comfortable sofa bed, microwave and dvd system. The shower and w.c has a separate entrance outside the apartment (as you may expect from a house 120 years old!)
Further details outdoors: Parking is available 3/4 minutes walk across the road in a little pull in next to the lake.
Enjoy alfresco dining on the sun terrace overlooking the lake with ample space and table and chairs to accommodate all guests/apartments, plus 1.75 of mountain/woodland for the more adventurous to explore, not for the faint hearted! Fishing and snorkelling equipment are also available."
