This Quinta (farmhouse) has 5 acres of its own land, and is located on the edge of a quiet little village about 14km from the market town of Arganil. Nestled in a valley overlooking mountains in the distance, if you want a relaxing, peaceful break - look no further...
Explore the farm land around the house - there is a stream at the bottom and a natural spring pond full of wild life - great for older children to play/explore/build camps!
Near-by Go-Carting in Vila Nova de Poiares. Horse riding in Gois. The sea-side is about 80 minutes drive away, and the foot-hills of the Serra da Estrella is about the same distance in the other direction (there is even a skiing resort in the mountains during the winter months).

The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast region
Coimbra used to be Portugal's capital city, many many years ago. It now has a prestigious university and beautiful old buildings built around the river Mondego and is well worth a visit.
If you prefer shopping, there are numerous modern shopping centres (free parking) - and air-conditioning if the weather becomes too hot for you!!
Meanwhile, back in the country you are surrounded by nature. The Portuguese people are friendly and helpful, even though few of the older generation speak English. There are many tiny villages surrounding the Coimbra city, and going towards the Serra Estrella Mountains.
Arganil / Pombeiro da Beira area
The market town of Arganil has a weekly market every Thursday morning - plenty of bargains and bustle, and lots of friendly faces.
The village of Sarnadela (about 5km away) has a general store; Arganil has a supermarket, banks and general facilities.
River beaches in Gois. Many others to explore if you like driving around the countryside.
River/lake for swimming or fishing is only 2km away, near Roda.
Journey times by car: 20 minutes from Gois, 15 minutes from Arganil, 20 minutes from Vila Nova de Poiares, 45 minutes from Coimbra, 80 minutes from Figuiera da foz (sea-side).
Gois motorbike festival in August (biggest in Portugal)! Numerous other local festivals in many of the nearby villages throughout the year.
How to get there
TAP flies from Heathrow to Porto (flight duration 1 hour and 45 minutes)
Easyjet from Luton to Lisbon (flight duration just over 2 hours) flights can be cheaper although Lisbon further away from the Villa by about 1 hour.
Ryan Air flys from Bristol to Porto.
Holiday Autos is a good value car-hire company.

Directions from Airports: DRIVING:
From PORTO airport it takes about 1.5 hours: (The airport is north of Porto town).
You will be heading South. Follow signs to Matoshinos and Porto, until you see a sign for the A1 (motorway and tollroad). The toll is called “portagem” and costs under 10 Euros to get to junction 13. This takes about an hour.
From LISBON airport it takes about 2.5 hours. (The A1 is close to the airport).
Take the A1 north to junction 13. This takes about 1.5 hours. (price on toll road TBC)
FROM A1 JUNCTION 13
Take the IP 3 towards VISEU for about 40 minutes. Again at Jn 13 exit towards ARGANIL and Ol. Do HOSPITAL. This road is the IC6. After about 12 minutes this becomes the N17 and changes from dual carriageway into single carriageway. 10 minutes later you should arrive at the Farm house (final details will be provided on booking).

ALDEIA NOVA Lovely and stylish country house found in a very quiet, calm and green area. Its interior is very spacey, comfortable and well decorated. Has a vast and good CD classical collection that brights your day up. Lots of Sky Satellite TV channels. Outside you'll find a pretty environment and lots of trees. You can walk and appreciate the nearby sights, which includes mountains and very beautiful rivers. Ideal to rest!
