The VILLA

Torre del Guado Country House is an impressive stone manor house, dating back to the 13th century, with loving care, has been recently converted into a charm and refined country vacation rentals, where the subtle pastel shades, together with the carefully selected furnishings, contrast perfectly with the severity of the stone, the red-baked floor tiles, the wood and the wrought iron to create a personal and pleasant ambience which appears fresh and new.
Now the Country House Torre del Guado is an elegant holiday farmhouse with a well-tended equipped garden, located in panoramic position amidst the green and picturesque landscape of Tuscany, at northeast of Arezzo, close to Umbria.
Our vacation estate features 5 self-catering apartments for rent, each one individually designed, with independent entry and excellent facilities for a memorable holiday in Tuscany: large ecological pool, private covered parking, mountain-bikes, beautifully restored rooms for meetings, ceremonies ( catering service).
The lovers of tourism in Tuscany and in Italy, can enjoy full relax in comforting and elegant accommodations or indulge in sporting or cultural activities.

The Tuscany region

The location of elegant Vacation House , at 32 kms from Arezzo and not far from Siena, on the edge of the Chianti wine region and of Umbria, is a very convenient base for visiting Rome and the major of cities of art of Tuscany (Siena, Florence, Arezzo, Cortona etc.) and of Umbria (Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia, Orvieto, Trasimeno Lake etc.) and also for the wonderful small hill-towns nearby, off the main tourist track. They all are accessible along the E45 speedway, which is only 3 kms from the villa.
For art-lovers, in this area there are Signorelli, Perugino, Pinturicchio frescos in addition to the 'Piero della Francesca trail' around Arezzo, Sansepolcro & Monterchi. There are a number of music festivals in the region, including Umbria Jazz in Perugia in July. Lakes Trasimeno and Montedoglio provide water-sports, trips to islands & a small beach. For history-lovers there is interest everywhere, with Etruscan tombs, Roman remains and medieval city-centres. Or, just simply enjoy the countryside and the beautiful views, stopping frequently at a bar for fresh coffee and real Italian icecreams!
Museums, cultural sites, thermal baths, golf, tennis courts, horse-riding and nearby restaurants are available at a short driving distance.

Where we are

Torre del Guado can be reached by airplane, by train, by car. The airports and the railway stations in Rome, Florence, Perugia, Bologna, Rimini, Arezzo are to brief distance.
By Car:
from Milan-Bologna: A14 to Cesena: exit Cesena nord. Follow E 45 to Rome-Perugia[/u]: exit Sansepolcro sud.
from Rome: A1 to Orte. Follow E 45 Perugia-Cesena: exit Sansepolcro sud.
from Florence: Autostrada del Sole A1: exit Arezzo. Follow directions Sansepolcro along S.S.73.
By Air: Perugia-Rome-Florence-Bologna.

Fly direct to Bologna-Forli via Ryanair, or to Florence , or to Ancona via Ryanair (2 hours' drive), or to Bologna, Pisa or Rome . For Perugia, our nearest airport (45 minutes drive), flights from UK currently change at Milan.

This 2 level apartment with 3 rooms, occupies 78 m².
At ground floor: living room with fireplace, TV sat, 1 double sofa-bed, fully equipped kitchen corner (4 plates, gas, refrigerator, ice compartment, electric oven), dining table for 6, washing-machine.
On the first floor you can find: 1 large double bedroom and 1 smaller twin bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower, bidet, sink, WC. Single heating with counter.
Linens, towels, swimming pool towels and tables cloche, iron and hair dryer are furnished, Cot and highchairs for babies, wireless internet available by request.
It has its own outdoor private space in the garden, near the apartment, with sitting area and sunshade.
A warm and welcoming atmosphere is also due to the choice of a unique pastel colour, the apricot.

The setting is delightfully tranquil, surrounded by meadows, with excellent views of the the Appenines mountains and Tall Valley of the Tiber.
From the private garden around the villa there is a spectacular view on the Alta Valle del Tevere and Appenines mountains. Set in beautifully maintained gardens there are the large and ecological swimming pool with sunbeds, (15x7 metres), 3 covered gazebos , private places with tables, chairs and sunshade for every apartment, an open barbecue with table where you can enjoy a barbecue or drinks outdoors.

Rates are charged in euros and are valid until the 31st December 2009.

Rates quoted are for the number of guests accommodated in beds.

The charge for each additional guest accommodated on a sofa/divan is euro 10 per/day.

*The rates are inclusive of power, gas for kitchen, firewood, private covered parking, washing-machine,

linen including pool towels, weekly change, final cleaning, highchairs and use of the mountain bikes, taxes ( IVA 10%).

In the price not included: the individual heating ( when required is calculated based on consumption: each apartment has its counter), baby-bed ( € 5 per/day) and wireless internet (on demand: €4 per/day).

Upon request, available, daily cleaning (charged extra).

Upon request, available private cooking for groups through service catering.

Period of closing: from 12/01 to 13/03 and from 26/09 to 30/10.

Daily booking: least two nights and only in low and mid season periods.

From 13/06/2009 until 25/09/2009 the apartments can be rented only weekly, from sat to sat.

Deposit required to confirm a booking is 30% with balance due on Check out.

A Security deposit of euro 150 is due on arrival and fully refundable upon departure.

"My family and I stayed ( wife Jackie and 2 sons - Kieran 16 and Tim 18) in the Guado apartment for 2 weeks in july 08 and had a fabulous time. The apartment was spotless and well equipped and the pool was fabulous - a good size and not chlorinated etc really nice not to have sore eyes etc after swimming!! - the garden was very large and even when in the 2nd week the apartments were all occupied there was still easy access to the pool, sunbeds etc., barbies, sitting areas etc
The owners - Mattia and her husband were brilliant and helpful beyond and above the point of being very good. Nothing was too much trouble and they were available at any time if needed but did not trouble us at all otherwise. The atmosphere was very relaxed and chilled and a great place to stay --
The location - I would strongly recommend anyone to try it as the location is close to Florence, Pisa, Arezzo and Perugia to name but a few of the places we visited. Sansepulcro was a good place to go in the eveings also for food etc and I thoroughly recommend Ma Mi near Anghairi for good food at a reasonable price and for great take away pizzas.
The facilities - my 2 sons had great times with the table footie and table tennis and we did bike rides on several of the days - in fact there were 6-7 bikes at hand not 4 as specified.
All in all a fab hols with really lovely hosts who helped make it even better for us. We intend going back again - the tuscan hillsides and scenary are superb and the cathederals and buildings are breathtaking. Definitely a 5 out of 5 holiday!!!

"The self contained cottages and apartment are very well appointed and in a beautiful setting. It is in a very quiet location,but close to the beautiful small walled town of Sanseplocro with restaurants and museums.
Torre del Guado with lovely grounds and pool is in a perfect situation for both relaxing and sightseeing in Tuscany and Umbria.
We have been two years running and have already booked for next year!
You will get a very friendly and heplful welcome there. Enjoy!"
