About the home

Our spacious, well equipped and comfortable home is the perfect place to stay for a holiday on Menorca. The property is ideal for both families and couples alike. It sleeps a maximum of 6 adults and 2 children.

When entering the villa through the front door you will find yourself in the large and bright open plan living area which is upstairs. Marble effect stairs lead down to the bedrooms, where during the summer months it is much cooler. There is also a private courtyard to the front of the property with a small rockery garden area and barbecue, and to the rear there is a private garden with gate which leads to the communal gardens and large (approx 72 sqm in total) swimming pool.

The kitchen is very well equipped, in addition to the list above it has a second fridge and an expresso coffee machine. In the main living area the TV has Satellite TV which has BBC & ITV plus many other channels; there is also a Bluray/DVD player and VHS player with an extensive video collection for guests use.

There is a ceiling fan in the living room and fans for all bedrooms - these can be moved to suit personal requirements.

The main bedroom has a full en suite bathroom, all bedrooms have fitted wardrobes.
The downstairs hallway has a set of bunk beds ideal for two children.

Please bring your own beach towels.

The villa has a storage room beneath the property which is accessed via the back garden, here you will find sun loungers (6 minimum) with accessories for use by the pool.

The communal pool is very large and incorporates a smaller children's pool (total pool area approx 72 sqm), although the pool is on a community and shared you may often find yourselves the only ones there - even during the busy month of August. (Pool photo taken in June)

As this is a community, please be advised that inflatables ie lilos etc are not allowed in the communal swimming pool.

Should you require a cot or high chair these are available free of charge, please state when enquiring/booking if they are needed..

The Menorca region

Menorca is a very green island unlike the Costas of Southern Spain, this is due to its temperate climate. The holiday season runs from the beginning of May through to the end of October. June, July and August are normally the hottest months. June is a glorious month to visit as the flowers on the island are in bloom and the temperature is warm and pleasant, ideal if you have small children. It is the second largest of the Balearic Islands and is also known for being the least developed. It is an island of many beautiful beaches, some only accessible by boat.

Places well worth a visit:
Monte Toro with its beautiful church is in the centre of Menorca, it is the highest point on the island and on a clear day you will see the most fantastic panoramic views of the entire island and all its coastline, if it's clear enough you may also be able to spot the island of Majorca.
Mahon the capital of Menorca, has one of the largest natural harbours in the world. Good value boat (glass bottom) trips around the harbour are available and last for just over one hour. Gin is made on Menorca and you will find the main Gin Factory down by the harbour opposite the Ferry terminal. At night Mahon twinkles with all its restaurants and bars, plus all the beautiful yachts moored in the harbour, a pleasant place to spend the evening.
Ciutadella is the old capital of Menorca and is a complete contrast to Mahon, it has a lovely harbour, narrow streets and is a great place to visit.

The Arenal d'en Castell / Coves Noves area

Arenal d'en Castell is a favourite resort with families and couples wanting a relaxing holiday. The horseshoe bay with its gently shelving soft sand beach is extremely safe, the beach is large enough to avoid overcrowding. Nightlife is low key and revolves around restaurants and bars, there are no nightclubs. The beach is a pleasant 15 minute walk from the villa.

Coves Noves is an extension of Arenal and has its own bars, restaurants and Tennis Club. All our guests are allowed full access to the Tennis Club and all its facilities. Our nearest supermarket is in the Coves Noves main area.

The old fishing village of Na Macaret with its small sandy beach and Addaia with its marina are also within easy reach.

During the summer months there is a small road train which runs a regular service from Arenal through Coves Noves and on to Na Macaret (and return) picking up passengers from designated stops on its way. This is a lovely leisurely way to see more of the surrounding area.

There is also a regular public bus service from Arenal to Mahon during the summer. Menorca buses are bright red and yellow so are easy to spot.

Flight time to Mahon from the UK is approx 2 hours - Our villa is a 20 minute drive from the airport.
Taxi from the airport costs approx 35 Euros.
There are many flights operating to Mahon during the summer, if you need help with finding good value flights, please ask.

“Menorca - my favourite holiday destination!” This is is our third trip back to the lovely island of Menorca and a second stay in the Coves Noves area with the beautiful Arenal bay 5 minutes drive away. Really enjoyed staying in this townhouse and sunbathing in the enclosed garden until it got too hot and then walked down to the lovely clean pool to cool off! The small complex is quiet and gardens well kept and friendly neighbours. The smell of the neighbours jasmine shrub as we entered the house was just intoxicating! We ate in more than we ate out and generally just relaxed on the balcony where we took all of our meals. We could always stay another week on this beautiful island and staying in a lovely house like this that in todays climate, isn't too expensive and offers good spacious accommodation. If I had one small niggle, it was the yellow lighting on the balcony. It made reading a bit difficult. But don't let that put you off! Thank you Pat! Response: Thank you for a great review. Bright light attracts mosquitos and other flying insects at night that is the reason the outside balcony light is a dimmer yellow so as not to attract these unwanted guests.

“Everything a family could need on holiday!” The villa was really well equipped, down to the buckets and spades we were able to take to the beach with us - rather than buy new ones - which was great! The children were very impressed with the swimming pool which true to other reviews was practically deserted. The grounds were really well kept and the children loved the desert style garden - particularly good for lizard hunting! Overall this was a really relaxing holiday and the villa had absolutely everything we needed to ensure we had a very stress free time - the disney videos were an added bonus too!

“Delightful, well equipped Menorcan home” We spent two weeks with our family including small grandchildren. This is a well equipped house with delightful and very quiet communal pool and garden. The nearest shops are a short walk and the beach a little further. This is ideal for small children as the water is very shallow and the children can play and fish quite safely. The main area of Arenal d'en Castell is about a 20 min walk, but has more amenities and some good restaurants. The road train can be used for travelling the area, but for a family would be quite expensive as a means of transport. If you want self catering without the danger of an unfenced pool right outside the door, then this fits the bill.

“Ideal for quiet, safe and relaxing family holiday” We've stayed there twice and would stay again if we were to go back to Menorca. The house is situated in a quiet Spanish residential area 10 minutes walk to the shops and bars and around 15 to 20 minutes to the beach, far enough to be away from the noisy tourist hotels but close enough to the centre of the resort for convenience. The accommodation was clean and well kept with all the usual home comforts.

“Worth a second visit” My family and I visited this smashing house twice in 2009 and 2010 and really enjoyed the facilities offered in the house, the town of Arenal d'en Castelle and the very attractive island of Menorca. We visited both times in late September when the weather was warm enough to swim but not too hot, but the site pool was generally too cold except for one occasion. The property is situated a short distance from the town centre, on a quiet wide residential street and only a five minute walk from a good local supermarket, restaurant and childrens play area. On both occasions we found the property to be clean and had all the facilities needed for a self catering holiday with plenty of good quality chairs for eating and resting in the spacious lounge/ dining area, and on the attractive verandah. The kitchen is small but fine for a family of six, and the bedrooms were small but again ideal for our purpose and size of group. The house had a small back garden, and open access to a small private garden and pool- all very immaculate and clean. The house is attractive and finished to a good standard. The propoerties nearby are owned by local people or lets which gives the area a nice mix. There is plenty of parking. As I have already indicated we found Arenal to be ideal for a family holiday, and the beach was fantastic and very attractive. The sea was warm and the beach very clean. An excellent venue. On both occasions we hired a car- the Island is first class for walking, bird watching and visiting historical sites, and I would advice anyone to make the most of all the great beaches and sites this very quiet, attractive Island has to offer. We will certainly pay the both the Island and this accommodation again.

Thanks again for a super holiday in your lovely villa, the fact that we have come two years running speaks for itself. On arrival the property was absolutely spotless with bottled water, fresh milk, tea & coffee and even a bottle of Wine in the fridge all of which was most welcome as we arrived just before midnight. We hired a car from the airport on arrival but I'm sure that you could make do with taxis and local transport as once you are at the villa everything you need is within fifteen minutes walk including supermarket & beach. If anyone wants a stress free, relaxing holiday take my tip and go to Coves Noves as the whole local area is stunning. As I said last time - reality is much better than the photographs. What a Fab place - in a nice quiet residential area, it has spacious accommodation and spotlessly clean. Had the pool to ourselves most of the time. For a family of 3 generations this lovely accommodation was ideal. Located in a quiet area but close enough to shops, restaurants and an excellent bay in nearby Arenal d'en Castell.
