From the owner

The West Lodge sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms - there is also a zed bed suitable for an extra child (Please note the West Lodge is not suitable for 5 adults). As the old lodge house for Kinblethmont House it is at the edge of Kinblethmont estate approximately 1 mile from Kinblethmont House and its charming Walled Garden with play and terrace areas.

While it retains its charming and homely old fashioned cottage style it has a modern kitchen and shower and all the comforts that you need for your holiday including wifi . There is a table in the kitchen for a cosy snack but a separate dining area with a bit more room. The cottage is heated with gas central heating.

The cottage has a large private garden with mature shrubs and trees and also an enclosed section which is ideal for small children and pets to run about in securely ( wall is about 2 foot tall). There is an outside seating area and bbq allowing you to make the most of the good weather. There are lovely woodland walks into Kinblethmont estate from the back of the cottage. The walled garden amenity area is about 3/4 mile away. Please be warned though that the garden is very large and though we try to keep it under control when weather permits it is not always easy to do so - we may need to come in and cut the grass during your stay!

We welcome up to 2 medium sized dogs in the West Lodge but you must pick up after them and make sure they are under control on Kinblethmont estate.

There are several cottages on the estate and the owners live nearby. Laura is always hand to answer any questions or deal with any issues. She will contact you the day after your arrival - usually by phone to made sure you have settled in. Access to the cottage is via a key in a lock box.

I am so glad that these guests enjoyed their stay. The property has a couple of interior steps but is otherwise on one level. The shower is not a specifically designed disabled shower but it is a walk in one with a low lip.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jessica (the owner) a message.

If Jessica (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
