Evaristo town house
About the home
Situated in a charming village, this recently upgraded cottage is ideal for couples or those with a small family who love the countryside. It is spacious and benefits from air conditioning, a fully fitted kitchen, and wifi. The upstairs has a King size bed and a double sofa bed as well as a gallery overlooking the downstairs. The large shower has been upgraded and is just right after a hard days 'holidaying'!! The village itself, is in the beautiful Sierra de Aracena and is definitely in 'rural Spain' with several family run bars and restaurants, all serving freshly prepared Spanish tapas and tasty meals. An ideal chance to brush up on your Spanish if you want, although the villagers are incredibly friendly and so willing to make you feel at home.. The cottage is spacious and is fully equipped and you will be able to enjoy the freshly grown vegetables from our garden and free range eggs from our chickens. We have a Flat screen TV, a DVD player and loads of DVDs as well as books and games. In the summer you can go and pick as many fresh vegetables as you wish from our large 'huerta'. These include onions the size of bowling balls, the tastiest tomatoes ever, green and red peppers, zucchini, cucumbers and the list goes on...If you would like to really kick back, we can provide breakfast or breakfast and dinners, just ask..For more info, please look at our website (address below).
We provide a welcome pack including wine, beer, fresh bread, butter, orange juice, tea, coffee, sugar, marmalade, eggs and Spanish produce. If you come on a Sunday, or bank holiday, I am happy to do some shopping in advance for you. Check out our own website for a punter's guide to our accommodation.

Further details indoors:
Recently upgraded, the cottage has new equipment and decoration. The kitchen has granite work surfaces and the shower room is of glass. The views are over the village and to the Sierras. Secure, private parking is available. There is airconditioning for the summer and a toasty woodburner for the cooler winter nights. The old thick walls also help to keep the house cool in the summer and warm in winter.
There is a secluded private terrace for sunbathing and just chilling out, which includes sunbeds, dining chairs and table and umbrellas for shade.
Possibly the best part of your holiday here has nothing to do with the cottage. It will be the ease at which you will be able to turn off and forget the stresses of everyday life. The location, the climate, the freshness of the air, the fantastic fresh produce and meals, and most of all the great people you will meet without even trying, all contrive to dismiss any worries you may have had.
Further details outdoors:
The private sun terrace is large and has lighting for evening bbqs, with sunloungers and a table and chairs. It is completely private and faces south. There are potted orange trees and plants in the terrace. A real sun trap. You can enjoy our garden and 'campo' too and even help in the vegetable garden if you want, using the old methods for growing tasty vegetables.

Real opportunity to enjoy real Spanish cooking
If you want to relax and forget about cooking and washing up during your stay here in rural Spain, why not take advantage of eating quality Spanish food in your own cottage. We are offering you the opportunity of inclusive daily Spanish breakfast and evening meals for five nights of a week. Freshly cooked from all fresh ingredients prepared in traditional the Spanish style. The local pork here is amazing and tastes and looks more like good quality beef than the pork you are able to buy in the rest of Europe. Each Iberico pig in our region lives wild among the tall cork acorn trees and roots around for the abundant acorns that give them their unique flavour. Or try the famous tortilla made with fresh vegetables and truly free range eggs. Each night you will be offered a small choice of alternative Spanish dishes, served with local bread, free from additives and freshly grown salad.
Sample Menu
Solomio in whiskey – a juicy pork fillet marinated in whiskey, garlic and thyme and served on a bed of caramelised apple, accompanied by tomato, onion and oregano salad and Spanish potatoes
Or perhaps
Gambas en ajo – fresh large prawns seasoned and cooked in garlic butter, served with fresh green salad and Spanish omelette
Or even
Berejenas San Jacobo – A speciality aubergine or eggplant dish cooked with goats cheese and local jamon. (Jamon can be omitted for vegetarians). This dish is particularly tasty with home made tomato salsa and roasted potatoes Spanish style.
All topped off with custard fruit or perhaps Spanish rice pudding
You choose which menu and which days you would like to sit back and have dinner prepared just for you. We can handle most dietary needs, so just let us know in advance what you prefer or perhaps would like to try. The cost of enjoying the catering for any week is £95 per person for 7 breakfasts and 5 dinners.
We can also offer walking holidays across the many trails, short walks, half day walks, day walks, drop off and pick up, packed lunches, guided walks or advice for going it alone. We are truly flexible (mostly because I love walking the Sierras and walk the trails regularly)

BookThe Andalucia / Huelva Province region
The Sierra de Aracena is prime walking country. The scenery is spectacular and visited by people across the world as well as the Spanish themselves. The region is Spanish first and foremost and there is no burger bar in sight. We have walked many of the 'Senderos' which are mostly old mule tracks across the hills. They are both beautiful and interesting. I am currently writing a book on the senderos of the area, and we can provide easy, medium and difficult routes for those that wish to enjoy the Sierras.
Some walks are circular but some are linear. We are happy to take you to starting points for the walks or to pick you up as necessary
The Aracena / Corteconcepcion area
Aracena is the nearest town - 7 km and is famous for the black jamon, which are reared locally. It also boasts the grutas or caves that were used in the Indiana Jones movie. There are many restaurants and tapas bars as well as local typical Spanish shops. The market is held on a Saturday and you can stock up on locally produced olives, ham and pate. In the summer, each village has its own fiesta which last 4 days each. They tend to be themed, such as the peach fiestas, the vegetable slaughter feria, the fiesta of the road, etc. They are both fun and real spain. Ideal location for us, through front door directly into the village. Through the back door into the farm of the hosts. Private if you want but handy to contact the owners if you need anything. The owners did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Our pet dogs loved them and the location. As far as we are concerned we made two new friends and will definately visit again in the future. The accomodation is spacious and comfortable. There is plenty to do in the area and Mikle & Fran gave top advice about where to go. Seville is easily reached by car and a worthwhile visit. We have already recommended this to our friends. |
