These include onions the size of bowling balls, the tastiest tomatoes ever, green and red peppers, zucchini, cucumbers and the list goes on...We can provide breakfast or breakfast and dinners, just ask..For more info, please look at our website (address below).
We provide a welcome pack including wine, beer, fresh bread, butter, orange juice, tea, coffee, sugar, eggs and spanish produce. If you come on a Sunday, or bank holiday, I am happy to do some shopping in advance for you. Check out our own website for a punter's guide to our accommodation.

Further details indoors:
Recently converted, the cottage has new equipment and decoration. The kitchen has granite work surfaces and the shower room is of glass. The views are over the village and to the Sierras. Private parking is available. Everyone that has come feels the pictures do not do it justice as it is much larger than it appears. We have tried to cover every requirement you may have from a self catering house. Every guest has been asked what was missing and the only thing recently was egg cups, so we have them now!!
There is a secluded private terrace for sunbathing and just chilling out, which includes sunbeds, dining chairs and table and umbrellas for shade
We have had parties of 4, using both the double bed sized sofa beds. We charge £50 per week extra for an additional person.
The house is cool in summer and in winter there are radiators and a log burning stove if you want a cosy night in.
Further details outdoors:
The private sun terrace is large and has lighting for evening bbqs, with sunloungers and a table and chairs. It is completely private and faces south. There are potted orange trees and plants in the terrace. A real sun trap. You can enjoy our garden and 'campo' too and even help in the vegetable garden if you want, using the old method of growing tasty vegetables.

Real opportunity to enjoy real Spanish cooking
If you want to relax and forget about cooking and washing up during your stay here in rural Spain, why not take advantage of eating quality Spanish food in your own cottage. In July and August we are offering you the opportunity of inclusive daily Spanish breakfast and evening meals for five nights of a week. Freshly cooked from all fresh ingredients prepared in traditional the Spanish style. The local pork here is amazing and tastes and looks more like good quality beef than the pork you are able to buy in the rest of Europe. Each pig in our region lives wild among the tall cork acorn trees and roots around for the abundant acorns that give them their unique flavour. Or try the famous tortilla made with fresh vegetables and truly free range eggs. Each night you will be offered a small choice of alternative Spanish dishes, served with local bread, free from additives and freshly grown salad.
Sample Menu
Solomio in whiskey – a juicy pork fillet marinated in whiskey, garlic and thyme and served on a bed of caramelised apple, accompanied by tomato, onion and oregano salad and Spanish potatoes
Or perhaps
Gambas en ajo – fresh large prawns seasoned and cooked in garlic butter, served with fresh green salad and Spanish omelette
Or even
Berejenas San Jacobo – A speciality aubergine or eggplant dish cooked with goats cheese and local jamon. (Jamon can be omitted for vegetarians). This dish is particularly tasty with home made tomato salsa and roasted potatoes Spanish style.
All topped off with custard fruit or perhaps Spanish rice pudding
You choose which menu and which days you would like to sit back and have dinner prepared just for you. We can handle most dietary needs, so just let us know in advance what you prefer or perhaps would like to try.
The cost of renting the house and enjoying the catering for any week in July and August is £450 for two people and £495 for three people.
We can also offer walking holidays across the many trails, short walks, half day walks, day walks, drop off and pick up, packed lunches, guided walks or advice for going it alone. We are truly flexible (mostly because I love walking the Sierras and walk the trails regularly0

The Andalucia / Huelva Province region

The Sierra de Aracena is prime walking country. The scenery is spectacular and visited by people across the world as well as the Spanish themselves. The region is Spanish first and foremost and there is no burger bar in sight. We have walked many of the 'Senderos' which are mostly old mule tracks across the hills. They are both beautiful and interesting. I am currently writing a book on the senderos of the area, and we can provide easy, medium and difficult routes for those that wish to enjoy the Sierras.
Some walks are circular but some are linear. We are happy to take you to starting points for the walks or to pick you up as necessary
The Aracena / Corteconcepcion area
Aracena is the nearest town - 7 km and is famous for the black jamon, which are reared locally. It also boasts the grutas or caves that were used in the Indiana Jones movie. There are many restaurants and tapas bars as well as local typical Spanish shops. The market is held on a Saturday and you can stock up on locally produced olives, ham and pate. In the summer, each village has its own fiesta which last 4 days each. They tend to be themed, such as the peach fiestas, the vegetable slaughter feria, the fiesta of the road, etc. They are both fun and real spain. One assumes that if you are looking for accommodation in this area of Spain that you have done your homework. If you are looking for somewhere with nightclubs, discos, karaoke bars and fast food joints serving pie & chips read no further. If however you want a comfortable studio with all mod cons (wifi is available but you will have to take your laptop near to the owners house due to the thickness of the walls) in a small white village that will make you very welcome then this may suit you. The house itself has everything in it that you need for everyday living as can be seen by the pictures on their website. If however you dont want to cook then any one of six bars in the village provide excellent food from tapa to full meals (remember the Spanish eat late so no problem getting a meal at night).. Mike & Fran the owners are always on hand should you have a problem or want any advice on the local area, they will also provide excellent food & even teach you some Spanish if you want to learn - again see the website. The local area has plenty of walks where you will see beautiful views, wildlife and birds. An hour or so drive will bring you to the coast which has some of the best beaches in Spain. Aracena the main town in the area with shops bars restaurants garages etc is only a ten minute drive or a nice walk if you feel energetic. There are plenty of other villages around to explore some within walking distance all with their own particular charm. If you are lucky you may visit during one of the fiestas, this means all night music and entertainment for three or four nights the townhouse is on the edge of the village so you can still sleep if you need to. The only people I wouldn't recommend the townhouse to are disabled - ( the spiral staircase is not wheelchair friendly or people with severe walking dificulties but I believe this is mentioned on the website. We love this place, the house the hosts & the village and have made some good friends - you just have to accept this is the real Spain not a tourist area. |

Guestbook for Evaristo town house
The Sierra de Aracena is so beautiful, and Corteconcepcion is such a welcoming village. The local people made us feel so welcome, we tried to talk with the locals over a few tapas, and even though we didn’t understand each others language we still had a great time. The Townhouse is a great base, and the wood burner was fantastic for heating the house. We enjoyed Fran & Mike’s company during our visit, and thank you for looking after us so well.

Back again….. this time I had three mates with me….. my 40th birthday present from my wife. Came with lads, we went to Puerto Moral for the Fiesta with Fran, had a day of golf with Mike at Riotinto. We saw the Easter processions in Aracena – what an experience – Amazing. I keep coming back it’s my 4th or 5th visit to Mike & Fran’s and I knew the lads would love it here – the local food and cold beer just make it even better.

We arrived late, but you had organised food for our children and ourselves. We felt very welcome in this cool place. Very comfortable beds, we were very surprised with the space in the house – much bigger than the photos suggest. The walks are great – with children, we had choices of short or long walks each day. So many flowers and meadows with colours. We enjoyed the local tapas, and the village people. Thanks.

Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable – lovely house with everything we could wish for. Sorry we didn’t get to see more of Mike, and I know that since we are your first Aussie’s that you really turned the weather on for us. Highlights – Saturday night at Jesus Bar with a few tapas, and a marvellous tour of Domingo’s Jamon factory. Come see us Down Under?

Here are some of the lovely memories we are taking back to Hull of our holiday in No. 12
Evaristo Perez:
• Watching the sunset at Barcina
• Sat in the street drinking wine and watching the stars
• The smell of rosemary strewn across the village streets
• Walking with Fran across the hills to Valdezufre for breakfast
• Drinking in Bar Jesus with Mike and friends on Fiesta weekend
• Watching the ‘special person’ conduct the brass band
• Following the procession through the streets during fiesta
• Fireworks
• Swimming in the lake with no one else around
• Seeing the storks
• And listening to Gary order una pinta and getting a pizza!!
I could go on and on but just want to say thanks for sharing this ‘mellow’ part of Spain
