Home description
Finca el Arroyo is nestled deep in a valley of the national park of the Sierra de Aracena y los Picos de Aroche. A charmingly restored farmhouse,it is set in a wooded valley, with cosy accommodation for 6 to 8 people,on two floors. The house has two living rooms, one large, and a smaller TV room, both of which lead out onto a large cobbled terrace. Above the house there is a 4.5 X 7m pool, with a shaded area, and a wonderful sunset view down the valley. Although secluded and quiet, the charming village of Los Marines is only 2km away, and the market town of Aracena itself only 7km. There are several other villages in the area, offering a wide variety of tapas bars and restaurants.

The Costa de la Luz / Huelva Province region
There is a wonderful Safari park nearby in Castillo de las Guardas where there is also go karting. There are regular markets and fiestas in the area, including flamenco and fandango( a raw spontaneous version particular to the province). Outside Aracena there is a beautiful lake, ideal for swimming and picnics.. The beaches of Costa de la Luz offer miles of golden sand and some of the best beaches in Spain, nearby the charming coastal town of Ayamonte, with its view across the estuary of the Guadiana river into Portugal,is well worth a visit. There is also the possibility of visiting Doñana national reserve.
Aracena area
The Sierra de Aracena y Los Picos de Aroche is a pocket of cool lush heaven in the western end of the Sierra Morena, inland from the Costa de la Luz. Almost entirely forested with cork, oak and sweet chestnut, it has always been a quiet escape from the scalding summer heat of Sevilla and Madrid for those in the know. This is the true Spain, full of atmosphere, with several small villages celebrating their fiestas throughout the summer. The nearby town of Jabugo is famed for its blackfoot ham, considered the best in Spain. The area boasts an abundant variety of wildlife, including several rare species of birds and mammals ,and it is a botanists paradise in the spring. There are also spectacular caves to visit, Las Grutas de las Maravillas in Aracena. The area is covered in winding cobbled lanes and paths, making it ideal for walking and mountain biking. Seville is worth a visit,or alternatively Portugal is only a short drive away ( aprox 40 mins ), and fun to go to for lunch.

Further details indoors: Although the house has two doubles and one twin bed, we can offer two twin and one double instead if preferred. All the bedrooms are spacious, individually decorated and have large windows, therefore plenty of light. The master bedroom has it's own balcony with a view down the valley, and bath en-suite. The shared bathroom has both bath and separate shower. The house itself is on a split level, giving it added charm. There is a large kitchen/dining area, although most meals in the summer are enjoyed on the terrace,at the large marble topped table. With two living rooms there is plenty of space, and a very comfortable sofabed for additional guests. The large living room has a closed fireplace/heating system which warms the upstairs rooms in winter. Because of its position in the valley and its wonderfully thick walls the house is always cool in summer. Both living rooms have french windows opening onto the front terrace
Further details outdoors: The house is surrounded by a terraced garden, leading up to the pool, and two further terraces attatched to the house. One is large and very prettily tiled and cobbled, with a shaded eating area, and overlooking the orchard. The pool area has many sunbeds, a pergola for shade, and beautiful sunset view, with tiled area and small lawn. The pool is above the house and very private, not overlooked by anything. .
