Caseneuve is an attractive small village in the heart of the Luberon Regional Park between the Ventoux and the Luberon mountains.
Its hilltop setting at the top of the valley offers fabulous views of the surrounding mountains and countryside.
The village is surrounded by cherry orchards, lavender fields and olive trees. Goats graze in the fields around the village.
Caseneuve is a traditional Provençal village with houses built of stone walls and terracotta roofs hugging the hillside. It has an impressive château which although not open to the public, adds to the interest of the village with its ramparts, towers and high stone walls.
At the edge of the village looking down the valley is the largest oratory or religious shrine in France, an impressive monument.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Vaucluse region

Caseneuve is well located between the Luberon hills to the south and Mont Ventoux to the North. Going just a bit further afield the area offers some memorable day trips. Historic Avignon and the Pont du Gard, Aix-en-Provence with its stylish shops and elegant boulevard and squares, Arles, Nimes and Orange have stunning Roman amphitheatres. And there is L'Isle sur la Sorgue, a nearby town, run through with rivers and famous as an antique centre and market.
The Apt / Caseneuve area
The local area is known for it's stunning scenery and is dotted with picturesque small villages, each one with its own unique character and history, many holding markets and summer festivals. Nearby is Colorado Provencal, an ancient disused ochre quarry with its surreal multi-coloured cliffs which has some great walking trails.
