About the home

This is very much a "home from home“ as the owner is French and a native of the area of Provence
The house has been restored with great taste as a family home with all the comfort money can buy.....
Comfortable beds, top quality linen and towels, a Lacanche cooker with two ovens, a large terrace for dinner "Al Fresco".

This is an ideal place for a family with young children or just for those who want to get away from it all.
There is lots to do in the area, Horse Riding, Tennis, Golf, Hill walking, visit of Chateauneuf du Pape vineyards....,Monastere de Ganagobie etc...of just stroll around the local farmer markets in the hill top villages of Provence.

Kitchen leading on to breakfast terrace, cooker with dual oven ( gas/electric) and extractor hood
Bedroom 1 : Double or twin as required, 2.8m by 3.6m has its own shower room and WC. Laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, iron tables.

First Floor : Study/library with double sofa bed 3.9 by 5m internet connection, fax machine, Bedroom 3, double 2.9 by 2.9 m with shower room , WC opposite. Bedroom 4, king-size bed , with private terrace and en suite bathroom - All bedrooms have great views and are air-conditioned and have mosquito nets.
We are sorry but there is no smoking allowed in the house.

The swimming pool is secluded with stunning views over the hills and trees. the depth is about 80cm at one end and 1.8m at the other end.
In the 2 ha of private grounds we have planted fruit trees, ( apples, peach, cherry, figs, and apricots) and Olive trees.

Further details

Due to the high value of the furnishing and decoration of the house we require a refundable security deposit of 500 Euros against breakage and damages. This deposit can be paid in cash or with a credit card. The property will be inspected at the end of the stay and if all in order the deposit will be refunded.
We include 4 hours of cleaning per week in the rent and the service of a caretaker for the pool and grounds.
All our staff are knowledgeable about the area and will only be happy to help you design your itinerary for the day..
Hospitality is our Motto!

Conditions

The rent per week goes from 1900 Euros to 3800 Euros. To secure a booking we would require a non refundable 50% deposit with the balance payable 8 weeks before your stay. The minimum stay for a week end is three nights.

The Luberon area has been made famous by Peter Mayle's book " A Year in Provence"
This is a very exclusive place to holiday and is one of France's most expensive places to buy a house.
At the same time is very much a "down to earth place, unlike some of the Riviera places.
The locals are extremely friendly and proud of their heritage. L'Escaladieu is only 20 kilometres from Manosque the birth place of the famous writer Jean Giono. Giono has described Provence in a very emotional and beautiful way and we would recommend you to read his books before, during and after your stay.

The Apt / Luberon area

Viens is an attractive Medieval village with its own Castle ( privately owned), its Petanque Square , its baker and grocer and a fabulous Bistro called "Le Petit Jardin".
Apt is the nearest "city" at 20 minutes by car, with its supermarkets and a farmer market every Saturday in summer and every Tuesday in the winter. Lots of lovely shops, antiques, foods and a good choice of restaurants.
In summer this is a cultural hotspot with the Festive d'Art Lyrique d'Aix en Provence and also the Avignon festival
( both Avignon and Aix are situated one hour for L'Escaladieu).
