Home description
Ancient provençal farmhouse – lovingly restored with authentic materials and full of charm and interesting details. The furnishings and textiles are in keeping with the rustic nature of the building whilst providing an excellent standard of comfort. This unique property is situated near to the village of Caseneuve within the protected Lubéron national park between the Grand Lubéron and the Monts de Ventoux in extensive private natural grounds of 7 hectares – over 17 acres- with trees, flowers and herbs typical of the region. There are spacious terraces - shaded by mature linden trees – furnished for outdoor relaxing and dining as well as a further large sunny poolside terrace beside the private swimming pool - 10m x 6m – which has access by steps and an overall depth of 1.25m. The property is situated in a sheltered location providing absolute quiet and privacy but has fine outlooks in every direction.
The property is very old and cannot be adequately described as a normal two-storey property having a standard ground floor and first floor due to its' adaptation over the years and the differing elevation of the gardens around. Much of the upper floor of the property is at ground level in relation to the exterior pool side of the property which is level with the first floor at this point. The property divides well for two families – the first floor bedroom 3 with built-in beds and the two single bedrooms are closest to the downstairs bathroom whilst the master bedroom and bedroom 2 are both adjacent to the first floor bathroom. On request and only by arrangement there is the possibility of accommodating one additional adult guest in an occasional bedroom which is only accessed by its' own separate external door.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Vaucluse region
Provence is a region of South Eastern France on the Mediterranean Sea, adjacent to Italy. Its name derives from the fact that it was one of the first provinces outside of Roman Italy. The climate is a Mediterranean one - hot, dry summer and very little rain, with average temperatures in July/August of 30 degrees celsius
Apt / Caseneuve area
This area is one of the most unspoilt parts of Provence amidst vineyards, fields of lavender and orchards and yet giving easy access to some of the most beautiful villages such as Saignon, Bonnieux, Buoux - with its’ old fortress, Lacoste, Ménèrbes and Gordes. The nearest village is Caseneuve - in possible walking distance – a small, historic and unspoilt village of local stone with a post office and local restaurant. A little further afield Roussillon and Rustrel with their fascinating ochre cliffs and to the east the pretty village of Viens and Gorges d’Oppedette. There are numerous splendid walks and climbs of all types and degrees of difficulty from the cedar forest at Bonnieux to the walking trails up to the Grand Lubéron itself. It is just 7 km to the delightful market town of Apt which has all local services and shops and a visitor’s centre for the Lubéron National Park and a splendid Provençal market on Saturdays. The city of Avignon – with its’ TGV train station – is only 60 km to the west and equally beautiful Aix-en-Provence 65km to the south.

For information please see below feedback from client Aimee Christian & family:
"Dear Peter,
We wanted to take a bit of time to write and let you (and the owners of the property) know that the holiday house in Casaneuve was PERFECT. They have really done a beautiful job renovating a beautiful old farmhouse with loads of character and every detail (down to the charcoal you left for the BBQ) was noticed and GREATLY appreciated. The kids absolutely loved the terrace, pool and the yard and really never found a moment to be bored. We were close enough to really explore Provence, yet when we got "home," we felt like we were all by ourselves. We feel extremely lucky to have found such a gem on such short notice and you can be sure that if we are lucky enough to have another Provence holiday next year, we will be looking you up again!!
Thanks so much for everything.
We had a wonderful holiday.
Aimee"
