APPLEDORE 10 THE QUAY OVERVIEW

A beautiful Grade II listed holiday home on the historic quay at Appledore. This popular coastal village is full of quaint cobbled streets, fishermen's cottages, galleries, delicatessens, craft shops, and bustling pubs and restaurants. 5 bedrooms sleep 10 people, internet access is included. Enjoy fabulous views across the estuary to Instow, and watch the fishing boats come and go with the tide. Or even better, hire a fishing boat for the day! Five minutes away by car is Westward Ho! beach, where you can surf, kite surf, body-board and play golf. The South West Coastal Path and the Tarka Trail cycle path are both easily accessible from this location. The ideal holiday home for larger families, two smaller families or groups of friends in a peaceful village location.

LIVING AREAS

Accommodation is arranged over three floors, and the front rooms have gorgeous estuary views. There is original oak flooring downstairs and a light and airy feel to the property. The living room has stunning views over the estuary and is filled with sunshine. An ornate feature fireplace is the focus of the room, and a plasma TV, Freeview, DVD player, internet access and books and games are sure to keep everyone entertained.

The dining room has river views and traditional window shutters. A high chair is provided.

KITCHEN

This attractive country-style kitchen has plenty of storage space in the matching wall and base units. A Belfast sink is set into a wooden work surface, and appliances include: integrated dishwasher, large double oven, hob, large fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetiere and a good selection of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.

Off the hallway is a very useful cloakroom/utility with low level WC, hand basin, washing machine, tumble dryer and an iron and ironing board.

To the front of the property is a delightful sunny patio-style garden. There is an off-road car parking space for 1 car to the side of the property, a rare find on Appledore Quay. If you are bringing more vehicles the long stay car park at the end of the quay is inexpensive.

Appledore

WALK TO – There are a variety of circular and pleasant walks along the sunny, south facing quay and along the river past galleries and local shops towards Bideford and Westward Ho!

Along the way pop into one of the many public houses and restaurants some of which offer a wide range of local seafood. There are also art galleries and local shops to explore. Appledore is a quaint port and ship building village, renowned for its quaint intertwining cobbled streets.

CYCLE TO - The charming fishing villages of Appledore and Instow, as well as the town of Bideford and Barnstaple. The Tarka Trail is a series of footpaths and cycle-paths around north Devon with over 30 miles of the Tarka Trail available to cyclists between Braunton and Meeth, using the old railways of North Devon.

DRIVE TO - The surrounding area has much to offer. Within driving distance is Atlantic Village outlet shopping centre, Tapeley Park, Instow, The Big Sheep, Dartington Crystal, Clovelly, Bucks Mills, The Milky Way adventure park and the historic market town of Bideford with its open-air and pannier markets. Just a short hop over the Torridge is the large market town of Barnstaple with all high street conveniences, cinema, theatre, museums, and pannier market. From Barnstaple one is in easy reach of many magnificent North Devon blue-flag beaches including Croyde, Woolacombe, Saunton Sands, Braunton Burrows and Putsborough all famous surf spots.

The Eden Project in Cornwall can also be visited easily within a day.
