Nearly all of the village is a conservation area and it has, over the years, attracted many artists, and today a number of galleries display local work.

The West Country / Devon region
Appledore has been a thriving port since the 14th century and is full of intriguing history initially intertwined with the fishing industry. Many hours can be spent exploring its narrow streets and cobbled courtyards.
Indeed the village and the adjoining estuary have attracted the attention of several film makers, including Walt Disney who made 'Treasure Island' here. Close by is the South West Coastal path and superb sandy beaches being ideal for swimming, surfing or the age old art of sand castle constiriction. Alternatively, horse riding or the North Devon Golf Club might be more appealing.

Further details indoors: On the first floor are two bedrooms, one with beautiful views over the water (twin beds), the other quietly situated at the rear (one 5ft double, one single bed).
The well fitted dining kitchen with a walk-in bay window and views over the water has a range of units with built-in cooker and extractor. There is also a dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and washer/dryer. A spacious bathroom with a large dignified suite and recently fitted shower cubicle.
A second staircase gives access to a beautiful lounge with quite superb views of the sea and old Appledore. An ideal place to relax in our comfortable leather armchairs and watch the world go by.
