GANNETS NEST in the picturesque fishing village of Appledore is the ideal location for exploring the North Devon coast. Book a fishing trip, go crabbing on the Quay, take a leisurely stroll exploring the maze of narrow streets and enjoy browsing through the art galleries and craft shops. For the more adventurous, 5 minutes away by car is Westward Ho! where there is surfing, kite surfing and body-boarding. The South West Coastal Path and the Tarka Trail cycle path are both easily accessible from the cottage. GANNETS NEST is an attractive 2-bedroomed Victorian fisherman's cottage arranged over 3 floors in Appledore. The cottage frontage is directly onto the estuary and has both a terrace and a balcony with an unparalleled vista overlooking the water.
Ground Floor: Light and airy sitting room featuring a wood burning stove and with Freeview TV. Double doors opening onto a balcony overlooking the estuary with table and chairs perfect for watching the boats.
Lower Ground Floor: There is an additional large sitting room with sofa and doors leading onto the terrace which overlooks the sea.
This cosy country cottage kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge and dining table and chairs is well-kitted and perfect for entertaining.There is a utility room with washing machine, microwave and small freezer on the lower ground floor.
Attractive master bedroom which overlooks the estuary and has ample storage. The second bedroom, full of character and nautical themes is a twin-bedded room. Both bedrooms are on the first floor.
Lower Ground Floor: WC and hand basin.
First Floor: There is a family bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle.
There is both a Terrace on the Lower Ground Floor and a large Balcony on the 1st floor, with table chairs and parasol; perfect for enjoying a sunset, watching boats or enjoying al fresco dining.

Walkers can enjoy coastal walks from the property and the 2 miles of golden sandy beach at Westward Ho! is less than a 20 minute walk. There is also a choice of leisure facilities close by including riding, tennis, golf, swimming, fishing and more. In the evenings, sample one of the six pubs in Appledore, most serving good food.
CYCLE TO - The charming fishing villages of Appledore and Instow, as well as the town of Bideford and Barnstaple. The Tarka Trail is a series of footpaths and cycle-paths around north Devon with over 30 miles of the Tarka Trail available to cyclists between Braunton and Meeth, using the old railways of North Devon.
DRIVE TO - The surrounding area has much to offer. Within driving distance is Atlantic Village outlet shopping centre, Tapeley Park, Instow, The Big Sheep, Dartington Crystal, Clovelly, Bucks Mills, The Milky Way adventure park and the historic market town of Bideford with its open-air and pannier markets. Just a short hop over the Torridge is the large market town of Barnstaple with all high street conveniences, cinema, theatre, museums, and pannier market. From Barnstaple one is in easy reach of many magnificent North Devon blue-flag beaches including Croyde, Woolacombe, Saunton Sands, Braunton Burrows and Putsborough all famous surf spots. The Eden Project in Cornwall can also be visited easily within a day.

A last minute break before the schools broke up, with two teenagers. Not a lot to do, but they enjoyed a bit of regression by going crabbing and eating lots of delicious Hockings ice cream.The cottage… More
