Accessed along un-metalled track, which meanders across the golf course, the cottage overlooks the 12th hole, a tumbling beck and has views to the Pennines and specifically, Murton Pike. The cottage's position is idyllic; romantic for couples and delightful for families or friends wishing to explore the natural surroundings. Enjoy picnics by the beck, walking from the doorstep or cycling along the pretty lanes and bridleways. It is also, of course, perfect for golfers! Situated in the beautiful Eden Valley, the area is a haven for peace, tranquility and a vast variety of wildlife, wonderful for ornithologists and country lovers. It is an outstanding area for walking and cycling and Cumbria has a lively calendar of crafts and country shows plus farmer's markets. Eden is located between the contrasting and equally spectacular Lakes and Dales National Parks. The touring opportunities are endless with day trips to Hadrian's Wall, Penrith,Ullswater, Kendal and Windermere. The attractive market town of Appleby is 3 miles and has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Fishing is available. The golf club house is ½ a mile away and serves very good food. It may be possible to start one's round from Cuckoo's Nest if preferred. Appleby is on the historic Settle to Carlisle railway line allowing direct transport to Leeds and Carlisle as well as the opportunity to ride the 2nd greatest railway journey in the world and visit the many beautiful villages on route.
