About the home

A fabulous 3 bedroom 2 bathroom garden apartment in Theseus Village, the latest village at the 5 Star Aphrodite Hills Resort. Beautifully furnished and equipped in contemporary style, this spacious apartment is fully air conditioned with an open plan living/dining room opening onto a covered veranda with table and chairs for outdoor dining.

Beyond the veranda is a large west facing terrace with sun loungers and, uniquely, a private plunge pool (which can be heated and with spa jets) with stunning views over a wide stretch of the coast and the Mediterranean particularly at sunset. The private enclosed garden at the side of the property is partially gravelled and is planted with shrubs and trees. The 2 communal pools in Theseus Village are less than 1 minute's walk and the apartment is just a few minutes' walk from the resort amenities including the Intercontinental Hotel, restaurants, golf, tennis, gym and award winning “Retreat” spa. There is also a Costa Coffee shop with free wi-fi, supermarket, medical centre and an exciting new children's activity area. Bikes and Segways can all be rented on the resort.

The resort is situated close to the beach at Aphrodite's Rock and the historic port of Paphos is 15 km away. The resort is easily accessible from Paphos airport (14 km) and Larnaca airport (just over 1 hour). As well as the resort's own supermarket there is a large supermarket (open 7 days a week) at Pissouri less than 10 minutes drive from the resort. Outside the resort there are numerous good and inexpensive restaurants in the nearby villages.

A cheap local bus service runs between the resort and Paphos.

Every room has remote controlled air conditioning and heating. The apartment has both solar powered water heating and an immersion heater.

The apartment is close to the resort's sporting facilities (including championship golf course, Annabel Croft tennis academy, fitness centre and horse riding) and to all the resort's leisure and other amenities including bike and Segway hire and is ideal for family and adult holidays. No smoking in the apartment please.

Immediately outside the living / dining room is a veranda and west facing terrace with sunbeds and a private sunken plunge pool with spa jets (2.4 metres diameter) which can be heated if necessary. These is a gas BBQ and table and chairs for outside dining.

The terrace has stunning views over a wide stretch of the coast and the Mediterranean and enjoys spectacular sunsets. The enclosed garden at the side of the property is partially gravelled and is planted with shrubs and trees.

Conditions

A deposit of 20% is payable on booking with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival. A damage deposit of £200 is required, refundable after any deductions within 14 days of the end of the rental period.

The pool can be heated if requested on payment of an additional charge currently £50 per week.

The Paphos region

Cyprus’ excellent climate, beautiful beaches, warm, clear sea and child friendly and welcoming people are some of the reasons for visiting this most easterly island in the Mediterranean. However Cyprus also has numerous cultural and historical sites and beautiful inland country for walking, cycling and exploring, much of which is easily reached by car from Aphrodite Hills and which make it the perfect holiday destination for everyone. Roads are generally well maintained with signs in both Greek and English, car rental rates are reasonable and driving is on the left as in the UK.

The historic town of Paphos is only 20 minutes drive to the west of Aphrodite Hills. There is also a local bus from the resort to Paphos Harbour. There are 7 daily trips to and from Paphos in the summer months. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes and the cost for a single trip is currently €1.00.

Bars and restaurants line the pretty harbour in Paphos where a medieval fort hosts cultural and musical events in summer. The town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980 and the extensive archaeological site behind the port has wonderfully preserved Roman mosaics and a Lusigian fortress. At The Tomb of the Kings nearby are rock catacombs from the 4th Century BC. As well as offering a wealth of cultural experiences Paphos has the largest Water Park in Cyprus and a number of boat trips operate from the port. There is a lively night life with many bars and clubs situated around the town.

West of Paphos, at the lovely beaches of Coral Bay (40 minutes by car from the resort) all types of water sports are available. North of Paphos is the wild Akamas peninsula, popular for walking and Lara Bay where green turtles nest. Jeep Safaris are the best way to see this area. The fishing villages of Lachi and Polis have pretty seafront tavernas and are also worth a visit.

Just a few hundred metres east of Aphrodite Hills is Aphrodite’s Rock a photogenic spot where the goddess herself is said to have emerged from the waves. Pissourri, with its large supermarket, is about 15 minutes further west on the coast road. Its pretty hilltop village has several excellent restaurants and tavernas and numerous facilities for watersports are available on the beach below. The ruins of Kourion lie a short distance further east. Turning inland is the village of Anogyra with Oleastro, an attraction giving an insight into olive growing and the manufacture of olive oil and other local products. There are a number of wineries to visit on the road north towards and beyond the village of Omodos and into the spectacular Troodos mountain area which is perfect for walking and cycling and where skiing is possible in the early part of the year.

There are many other fascinating and entertaining places to visit within easy reach of Aphrodite Hills which, combined with Cyprus’ excellent weather and the resort’s own first class facilities, make it the perfect year round holiday destination.

The Aphrodite Hills / Theseus Village area

Aphrodite Hills is unique in being Cyprus’ only fully integrated golf, tennis and leisure resort. The magnificent 18 hole championship golf course at Aphrodite Hills Resort has hosted the PGA EuroPro Tour Championship finale. Overlooking the Mediterranean and designed by Cabell B. Robinson the course (Par 71/70 and 6,299m) is surrounded by forest and divided by a stunning central ravine giving players a unique opportunity to tee off across the ravine at certain points.

The course also features lakes, olive and carob trees and is regarded as one of the best and certainly the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. The Clubhouse with its premier Golf Academy, Pro Shop and international restaurant is a few minutes' walk from the apartment. There is also a separate 3 hole academy course for beginners, an excellent driving range and both chipping and putting practice greens. Coaching and tuition is available from the resort's golf professionals. There are 3 other excellent 18 hole courses near to the resort at Secret Valley, Elea and Tsada.

The Annabel Croft Tennis Academy has 9 floodlit tennis courts (4 clay and 5 hard courts) available for play. A simple booking system operates through the spa and courts are usually available all through the day. Private coaching sessions with professional instructors are available and there are also weekly social tennis evenings. Private lessons and group lessons are currently available for all levels of player including children. Lessons are offered in English and coaching is structured for different age groups. Tennis racquets are available for hire for general play and equipment is provided for academy sessions.

Bikes and Segways are now available for hire. This is great way to take in the fresh air and beautiful scenery of the resort at your own pace.

The resort has 2 separate beach facilities; The Cove just below the main entrance of the resort within walking distance of the apartment and Zias, 15 minutes by car or courtesy coach from the hotel. Sun beds, snacks and drinks are available at both. Pissouri Village (15 minutes by car) has an excellent beach for swimming and snorkelling and all types of water sports are available.

The resort’s amenities include the Intercontinental Hotel with several restaurants serving a range of international cuisine. There is a well equipped gym at the internationally recognised award winning “Retreat” spa with its spectacular infinity pool, steam room and a range of beauty, massage and relaxation treatments available. The traditional style Village Square at the heart of the resort and 5 minutes level walk from the apartment has a variety of restaurants and a sports bar as well as a supermarket, ATM, medical centre, other shops, mini golf and an exciting new children’s activity area.

Cyprus is well served by flights from the UK, Ireland and Europe by British Airways, Cyprus Airways, Easyjet, Monarch, Ryanair, Jet2, Thomson and Thomas Cook and others. Paphos airport with its new terminal building is about 15 minutes by car or taxi from the resort. Larnaca airport is just over 1 hour by car.

Car hire and taxis are available both from the airports and from the resort. The road network in Cyprus is good and, as in the UK, driving is on the left.

On the resort a car is not necessary (shuttle buses, local buses to Paphos and taxis are all available) but to explore the Paphos area a hire car is recommended.

“Very nice apartment with fabulous views” This was our first trip to Cyprus and we will definately be returning. The apartment is really lovely and modern and very well equiped with everything you need. The views are amazing and the site was lovely and catered for everyone. There was a childrens area which was really good also. Siobian the owner of the apartment is very helpful and responds very quickly to any queries. Alll in all a lovely place I would highly recommend.

“Fantastic ! Exceeded all expectations” We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our time in Cyprus, and much of that was down to your lovely apartment. It really was very special; immaculate, with fantastic facilities, a wonderful view and set in a beautiful resort. The character and quality created an ambience that would be hard to surpass. All of the arrangements worked perfectly, and we used the guides we found in the apartment to visit Polis, Kykkos and take a trip through the Troodos mountains - interesting roads mind you !! We especially liked visiting Pissouri, we ate in the Square a couple of times, and also found the beach there was great to swim. We really had a really superb holiday, and would love to return in the not too distant future.

“Apartment with lovely views” We stayed at this apartment for a week at the beginning of the Easter holidays. The apartment is very modern and spacious with a lovely, large paved garden and relaxing views. It was well maintained and clean, as was the whole resort which was immaculate in all areas. Fantastic facilities on Aphrodites Hills for children with a very full programme of activities, a wonderful playground, mini golf, and plenty of extra Easter family activities which were free to join in. Childcare is charged at 7euros per child, per hour, but a package of hours can be bought for a lower rate of around 5 euros. We felt this was a little expensive given the ratio of staff to children - it was a little chaotic, but the facilities within it are fantastic with different play areas, trampolines, their own play pool, small football pitch and basketball court - even our picky son liked it! We spent time also at the junior golf academy which hold lessons for children from age 5+; the pro was excellent and the clubhouse is lovely. The whole golf course is fantastic but does require a buggy as it's fairly large and stretches across a ravine. We also took our children to the tennis academy which has a range of courts. Our 7 year old enjoyed a taster session with the tennis pro Jay who was excellent with the children. The spa on the resort looked fabulous but the weather was so good that we didn't want to go inside and it is very expensive so be warned! The resort's village square has a range of restaurants of which 3 main ones were open in the evening: Anoi pub, Zimi Italian and the Greek taverna. We think the others were due to re-open soon. On the whole, the food at all three was good and reasonably priced - no big shocks. Wine by the bottle was a little overpriced though but no different to other similar resorts. There was also a Costa Coffee and a Kebab place to eat at lunch times. The apartment is really well placed for all of these facilities in the square and the tennis and golf. Other villages on the resort are a car drive away so do consider this. All in all, an excellent apartment for a holiday.

“Great apartment in fabulous location” From start to finish, a stress free booking and great holiday. The apartment is lovely, well appointed with plenty of space. The terrace area outside offers fabulous views and terrific outdoor dining. Really easy to hire cot etc for our baby and everything was already in the apartment before we arrived through kidstravelite.com Finally, the location is seconds from the communal pools and 5 to 10 mins walk from the village centre, with all it's family friendly amenities. Will have no hesitation booking again

“Exceptional apartment in fantastic location” This apartment exceeded all our expectations. I found it on the Holiday Lettings website, and dealing directly with the owners was an absolute delight. The rental prices were also much less than those being advertised for inferior apartments by the 'official' resort rental company. The apartment is fantastic - inside it has everything you want and more. But it's the private outside space and the views which are exceptional. The undercover terrace and the poolside sunbathing area were our second home, with the added bonus of the side garden and its abundant rosemary bushes! The panoramic views over the landscape and out to sea were fantastic and the sunsets amazing. We're not swimmers, so the private plunge spa pool was exactly what we needed, but there's a 'communal' pool just over the road and we never saw more than three people using it. The apartment is on Theseus Village which is one of the closest to the village square, so you could even get away without hiring a car. But for shopping, sightseeing and airport transfers, a hire car is the best option. All in all I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough. The best recommendation I can give is that I booked to return within three days of coming home!

“Fabulous, outstanding views, and a beautiful apartment!” My family and I were fortunate enough to be able to rent the above apartment during July 2011. The actual process of renting the apartment was uncomplicated and Siobhan was on hand to assist and answer any queries promptly via email. We opted to stay at Aphrodite Hills as we had previously stayed at the resort. On arrival at the airport in Paphos, we sent a text message to the on site representative who met us at the entrance to the resort, then escorted us to the apartment. On entering the apartment were overcome, to say the apartment was outstanding is probably an understatement, it was stunning. The 3 bedrooms are an excellent size and well appointed. The kitchen is well equipped with all mod cons. The best is yet to come, however. The view from the terrace out over the hills in one direction and the sea in the other is breath-taking. Watching the sun set over the sea with a drink is pure relaxation. Added to this you have the luxury and all the facilities of Aphrodite Hillls. 10/10!

“The best holiday we have ever had” This was a truly exceptional week. The apartment is quite superb - set on a hill overlooking the sea with a wonderful west-facing view and a fabulous plunge pool on the patio in which to lounge and enjoy the surroundings. The interior of the apartment was of the very top quality - exceptional finishes to everything , a marvellous fully fitted kitchen including a washing machine and dishwasher and then - to my son's delight - a large wide screen TV that got all the Sky Sports! It also had a DVD player (and some great Agatha Christie DVDs) and an iPod player. With 3 large bedrooms - the beds were great and lovely sheets and towels provided. Being based on the Aphrodite Hills Resort itself provided some wonderful entertainment with a number of gorgeous outdoor swimming pools , an exceptional golf course (which according to my son, who is rather serious about golf, was one of the best he will ever be lucky enough to play on) and some great tennis courts , including red clay - all of which were floodlit. As if that was not enough - we could not believe how fantastic Cyprus itself was - it catered to all our needs. My daughter loves the Classics and so was in her element seeing all the ancient Greek and Roman excavations, my son not only enjoyed the Aphrodite Hills golf course a few times but also played on the wonderful Secret Valley one , my daughter's' friend loved the tennis and the swimming in the sea and our bar-b-q's on the patio in the evenings - whilst I was lucky enough to enjoy some great walks (particularly on the North Western peninsula). It really is an island of such variety and we came away with just one frustration - we had run out of time to do all the things we wanted to do. So we will definitely go back and definitely to the same apartment BJ 01! The other great thing was the whole ease of getting there - after a very pleasant 4 hour flight - we were sitting on the patio admiring the views just 45 minutes after landing , having obtained our hired car which was waiting for us on arrival at the airport (I arranged that through Nikos before we left) . All we had to do when we landed was text the owner's agent who met us at the resort , key in hand to let us in and show us how everything worked and advise us of great nearby restaurants and a good supermarket! Driving on the left and 13-amp sockets and a supermarket full off food I recognised and knew the children liked , all added to the ease and enjoyment and relaxation of the whole trip. It was a very , very special trip in a most marvellous resort in an outstanding apartment that will - as my daughter's friend said in her letter to us when we got back, be the best holiday we have ever had.
