The Paphos region
Whilst located at the prestigous golf resort the apartment is also within 4 kms of a further two Championship Golf Courses, this apartment is the ideal choice for Golf Lovers. Only a 5 minute drive away is the village of Pissouri which extends from the traditional village on the hillside, down to the sheltered Bay with its clear blue sea, both areas possessing a unique character and charm. The village maintains an old world atmosphere and has outstanding restaurants and taverns to suit all tastes and budgets, coffee shops, and a mini-market. The village square is lit up at night and is a favourite spot with all.
A "Greek Night" featuring music and dancing is held every Wednesday and is attended by Cypriots and foreigners alike. The bay area has an informal collection of excellent fish tavernas and restaurants along the fringe of the sand and shingle beach. A 15 minute drive west will bring you to the town of Paphos with its heritage sites, modern shopping facilities and attractive harbour area.
This south-west corner of Cyprus has an ambience all of its own: soft breezes, old stone, elusive enchantment and an air of antiquity. This is the kingdom of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and her presence seems to linger. Paphos itself is really two towns, each with its own character; Ktima on the cliff and Kato Paphos by the sea, two kilometres down the road. The one is unchanged over centuries and thoroughly Cypriot while the other has expanded over the last decade from a sleepy fishing village and harbour into a bustling, busy, sprawling cosmopolitan resort which is still growing.
Aphrodite Hills is a coastal resort in the Paphos district, Cyprus. It is named after the goddess Aphrodite and the resort is only one mile away from Aphrodite's Rock.
The resort is built on two elevated plateaus divided by a natural ravine. The resort has many features of a Mediterranean town; Greco-Roman architecture dominates, locally quarried stone is used in buildings and the town square has a market, restaurants, souvenir shops, a chapel, fragrant gardens, splashing fountains and an art gallery. The resort also has a spa, golf course, and leisure facilities. Nearly all landscaping vegetation and development has been planned in advance, and therefore the resort is spacious and lacks the typical sprawl and density of most villages in Cyprus.
The Retreat Spa was built in a classic Greco-Roman style and enhanced by the Thermae. The spa was named in the world's top 10 by Condé Nast Traveller, and in 2008 it received the highest accolade in the spa industry by winning "The Best Spa in Europe" award at the 2008 Professional Beauty Awards.
The resort has an 18-hole golf course (230–hectare) of championship standard. Most of the holes have views over the Mediterranean. Its 7th hole has become a talking point among golfers worldwide. Golfers, golf clubs, and landscape designers have ranked it as among the very finest courses in Europe. There are multi purpose courts and training facilities which attract sports teams from across Europe.
Aphrodite Hills hosts West End shows, festivities, cultural events, and other plays. Annabel Croft Tennis academy with 5 hard and 4 clay courts, hose riding nearby, children's club and play area, internet cafe, nature walks. Perfect base for exploring historical sites of the Paphos area.
