The Paphos District
The vibrant town of Paphos is only 25 km away to the west. Bars and restaurants line its busy harbour front and here you will find the Castle which hosts many cultural activities during the season, the famous mosaics and the Tomb of the Kings. Visit ‘Petra tou Romiou’ (Aphrodite’s Rock), the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite on your way to Pissouri, a small traditional village with restaurants and shops around a square and a small amphitheatre. Further eastwards, the ‘Kourion’ is not to be missed with its wonderful amphitheatre, ancient baths and mosaics. Local beaches may be found at ‘The Cove’ close to the Resort entrance, Aphrodite’s Rock, Pissouri for water sports, Avdimou which is home of the Zias Beach Club and Geroskipou. The beautiful Akamas Peninsula and the scenic Troodos Mountains with its small villages and pine and cedar forests are two areas well worth visiting further afield. Indeed the varied sea and landscapes with citrus groves, olive and carob trees, small villages, ancient ruins, sport, beaches and consistently good weather make Cyprus an excellent year round destination.
Aphrodite Hills area
Aphrodite Hills is the first fully integrated golf and leisure resort to be built in Cyprus. Located close to ‘Petra tou Romiou’ (Aphrodite’s Rock), birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite, the resort is built over two plateaux with many of the private properties fronting the 18 hole championship standard golf course. The exquisite golf clubhouse with pro-shop, restaurant, bar and lovely terrace overlooks the 18th fairway and green and there is a three hole academy course and extensive practice range. How to get there
Flights are available from all major airports including Gatwick and Heathrow for scheduled services by Cyprus Airways and BA to both Larnaca and Paphos, as well as other UK airports for charter flights with companies such as Easyjet, Monarch and Thomas Cook. Further details indoors: The spacious main living area is light and airy, with a well equipped kitchen featuring a range of Siemens appliances opening off it. Marble flooring is featured throughout the main living area. Double doors lead to the terrace and private garden complete with a range of outdoor furniture and gas barbecue. Bedrooms have comprehensive storage and natural wood flooring. The master bedroom has a zip and link bed to provide one super king double or two single beds. There is a large en-suite bathroom with twin wash basins set in a vanity unit, bath and separate shower. The second bedroom has a king size double bed with a separate shower room which is also accessible to visitors from the living area. Both bathrooms feature deluxe fittings with marble walls and floors. Travel books on Cyprus, local maps, indoor games, puzzles and reading books are available together with a library of DVDs and CDs.
Further details outdoors: Orpheus Village has its own entrance with landscaped gardens and a private road leading to the double storey apartment buildings. B 02 is in the last building close (about 30 m) to the large communal freeform swimming pool with sun bathing deck and shaded children’s pool. A dedicated parking space may be found under the pergola adjacent to the pool.
