The Paphos District
Paphos has some of the most interesting antiquities on the island of Cyprus, including some excellent Roman mosaics in the old port and town itself and the superb ampitheatre of Kourion which has stunning views over the coastal plain and where operas and plays are still frequently staged. The Paphos region also gives easy access to the Troodos mountains, which offer numerous interesting walks and scenery and can offer a cooling alternative to the hot sunny days which are charcteristic of the coastal location of the apartment.
