About the home

Aphrodite Hills Resort and Golf Course is situated approx 15 mins drive from Paphos airport. The resort is built on two plateau, the villa is on the western plateau within easy reach of the club house and all amenities.

It overlooks the eleventh green and has spectacular views across the golf course and the sea. The resort amenities include an Intercontinental Hotel, a 5 star luxury spa, several restaurants, a pub, a mini market and tennis courts. There is also a playground with swings etc for the children and Wi-FI access is available.

Towels and linen included. Villa cleaned prior to arrival and on departure. Mid stay cleaning by private arrangement with cleaning lady.


Notes on accommodation:
The house has a 'Heat Pump' in the basement which is pre-set for heating when required and instant hot water all year round. In the summer the solar panels will heat the water but the Heat Pump will kick in if additional hot water is required.

Accessibility
There are steps up to the front door and to access the rear. There are also stairs to bedroom 2. Not suitable for wheelchair access.

Outside
The front of the house has a lovely garden with a carport, particularly nice are the 'twister plants' by the steps to the front door. The rear garden overlooks the golf course and has some very interesting plants and trees. There are 3 tables with chairs on the patio, one outside the lounge, one to the right on the patio and one under the pergola to the left of the swimming pool. The private pool measures 5 x 10 mtrs and has an infinity edge, it can be heated if required.
Sun beds are provided.

Coast/Beach
Aphrodite Hills has a pebble beach with sun loungers and a cafe serving drinks and snacks. This is a five minute car ride plus a five minute walk away. Pissouri has a sandy beach with cafe facilities plus sun loungers and umbrellas to hire. It takes 15 minutes to drive there.

Golf
Aphrodite Hills golf club house is a five minute drive from the villa. It has an 18 hole championship course which is situated entirely within the resort and also offers a three hole academy course, driving range, pitch and put practice greens and employs three golf professionals. Secret Valley golf course is about ten minutes drive away and Tsada about thirty minutes drive. Elea golf course, about 15 minutes drive away, opened in the autumn 2010. Horse riding is available on site.

Travel
It takes 15 minutes to get to or from Paphos airport and Larnaca airport is a 1 hour and 15 minute drive away. We consider car hire to be essential although the village, hotel and golf club can be reached in a 35 minute walk.

Distances
Paphos is 30 minutes drive away and it takes about 40 minutes to get to Limassol

Further details
There is a well stocked small supermarket on site and other local shops in nearby villages, details of which are provided in the villa. There are plenty of tavernas and restaurants both on site and in the locality and again there is information on these in the villa. Cash is available from an ATM in the village centre and a bank is open for limited hours. The spa offers treatments, has a gym, hairdresser and open air pool and jacuzzi. There are tennis courts available to hire. It is a good area for walking and bird watching.

The Paphos region

Coast/Beach
You have a choice of two private beaches. Firstly there is 'Zias'; a sandy, child friendly beach with: sun beds, umbrellas, towels, and bar and restaurant facilities. It is 15 minutes drive away or alternatively the InterContinental Hotel offers an hourly bus service.

Secondly 'The Cove' a beautiful pebble beach located directly in front of the resort where you can go to relax and have a swim. There are other beaches at Pissouri Bay and the wonderful Aphrodite rock.

Paphos town is just a very short drive away with lots of super unspoilt traditional tavernas en-route to stop off & have a chilled glass of village wine!

The Aphrodite Hills area

The traditionally styled Village Square forms the heart of the Aphrodite Hills resort, it offers an array of restaurants and bars that reflect culinary experiences from around the world; Traditional Cypriot, French Brasserie, Italian Pizza and Pasta, Japanese, Anoi Bar (with its quiz nights), and The Retreat 'Secret Garden' Restaurant - all this on a hilltop overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

In addition there is a spacious open-air area where evening entertainment, musical productions and festivities are held. The Village Square also has numerous shops including an A.T.M. and Mini-Market.

There is a championship grade 18 hole, par 71/70 golf course with golf academy, driving range, and clubhouse. Designed by Cabell Robinson, it is spread over 6299m amongst olive and carob trees. It is built on two plateau divided by beautiful ravine with views over Mediterranean sea. It will suit varying abilities from beginners to experts.

There is a 350m double-ended driving range including a 3 hole academy. There are resident PGA qualified golf instructors. The luxurious Clubhouse has a bar and restaurant area with a pro shop.

Skiing
There is an opportunity to ski or toboggan on Mt. Olympus in the Troodos Mountains, from January to March.

Easily accessible, the resort is located just 15 minutes away from Paphos International Airport. It is 1 hour 15 minutes from Larnica Airport.

The Intercontinental Hotel, on the resort, offers further restaurants and bars, as well as evening entertainment.

There is a wonderful array of children's facilities on the resort which include: junior tennis, golf, crazy golf etc. There is a children's play area adjacent to the village square. There are four different kid's clubs catering for a range of ages, providing high quality child care with a full range of exciting activities and a chance to make new friends. Teenagers have their own clubhouse 'The Grotto' with computer games, a pool table, and organised activities.

There are many nearby attractions if you feel the need to leave the resort including: Waterparks, Akamas National Park, Paphos ancient sites and monument, UNESCO World Herritage Sites. One of the most beautiful sites is at Aphrodite's Rock (Petra tou Romiou) where the goddess of love reputably emerged from the sea.
