About the home
Set on a magnificent stretch of unspoilt coastline near Paphos, Aphrodite Hills is the most luxurious and prestigious golf & leisure resort in Cyprus, regularly winning awards as one of the best in the Mediterranean.
The Penthouse is the perfect place to stay on this gorgeous resort for either sport or relaxation catering equally well for golfers and tennis players as for those wishing to enjoy the luxury of tthe award-winning spa or simply wanting sun, swimming and relaxation.
This exceptional holiday home, a "villa in the sky", has spectacular views in every direction, boasting 4 verandas and panoramic sea views. This great design means you can choose sun or shade at any time of day, plus the elevated position means the West facing terrace enjoys evening sun for a good hour longer than many other properties.
Inside there is an amazing amount of light and space (>65 sq m just for living and dining <-- this is way larger than most villas offer. The total internal area is 141 sq m).
The kitchen is sociably open behind a granite bar area.
There are spectacular sea views inside and out with three sets of double doors opening from the lounge onto the largest veranda and every bedroom has direct access to its own veranda.
The closest of a selection of picturesque beaches is opposite the resort entrance, and Aphrodite's Rock set in its beautiful bay is only 5 minutes away by car. Parking is easy at both.
The Penthouse is luxuriously furnished with comfy leather sofas and two large wall hung TVs and DVD players, one in the lounge and one in the master suite.
Each bedroom has its own adjacent bathroom / WC and veranda, and each sleeps two people with a selection of bed configurations. There is also a quality sofa bed in the lounge for the odd extra overnight guest.
Previous guests have been delighted with our "extras" such as a large DVD collection, games, toys, books and a dock for your own iPod / MP3 player. Wireless internet access is available and the master suite veranda has a private hot tub with spectacular sea and sunset views.

The fantastic views, the huge living space and the luxurious furnishings make this property a truly exceptional home from home.
There is a large American-style fridge freezer with ice dispenser, plus lots of storage around the property meaning longer stays can be comfortably accommodated
Facilities such as a gym and sauna plus tennis, golf and horse riding are all available within the resort, about 5 minutes walk from the Penthouse (horse riding a short drive - around 10 minutes).
Bicycles can be hired from a local firm in Kouklia and there are wonderful trails around the area, with plenty of hills giving you the opportunity to test those muscles!
Further details outdoors:
The Penthouse looks over beautifully kept private gardens and there are play areas in the resort centre, less than 10 minutes walk away, with climbing frames, zipwires etc.. We have happily allowed our two young daughters to walk or scoot unaccompanied from the Penthouse to the play area, much to their delight. They return via the ice cream shop with big smiles!
There is a kids' club / creche available at an hourly rate which have delighted several guests.
There is a large shop, Costa Coffee and several restaurants all a few minutes walk away from the Penthouse plus Segway hire, bike hire and new for 2013 4 seater pedal car hire now available.
This "villa in the sky" is a great option for families with young children as all verandas are well fenced and the whole property is on one level, plus you have two beautiful pools each with paddling and swimming areas a few moments walk away. Plus the resort centre with all its facilities is an easy stroll for even our youngest guests.
Winter guests will love our private hot tub which is a delight all year round both in daytime and under the stars at night. The Penthouse affords stunning views of the night sky, a real "Arabian Nights" experience. We even watched the International Space station fly overhead from the tub one night!
The Intercontintal hotel on the resort also has a heated indoor / outdoor pool which can be used by guests on a day rate during the winter months. That in combination with our private hot tub can be a better option in winter than renting a villa with a heated pool which realistically will be chilly between November and April.
There are two private parking spaces adjacent to the property and a security team constantly monitor the resort so it is all very safe and secure.

As a Penthouse guest you will be met by our British management team at Aphrodite Hills, no fumbling around in the dark for a key box if you book with us! If you have any specific requirements or wish to order a welcome pack for your arrival, please let us know in advance.

From Aphrodite Hills it is easy to explore Paphos and all of Western coastal Cyprus. Alternatively you can head East towards Pissouri and Limmasol or North into the Troodos Mountains for a complete change of scene.
Aphrodite Hills itself offers plenty to do and explore as does the adjacent coastline.
There are some great walking trails both on this stretch of coast and in the hills and ravines around the resort.
There's also a good, friendly mountain bike rental company in the nearby village of Kouklia which delivers quality bikes and safety equipment to the resort, fully serviced and ready for all terrains.
Aphrodite's Rock, one of Cyprus' most revered and iconic sights, is a 5 minute drive away in a wide bay perfect for swimming.
If you fancy a bit of off-road adventure, take a jeep safari over the beautiful Akamas Peninsula National Park to the beautiful sands of Lara Bay, home to a turtle sanctuary.
You could also visit the small town of Polis, with its blue flag beaches, and nearby Latchi, where you can stop for lunch or an evening meze in one of the picturesque restaurants around the old fishing port and maybe take a boat trip or try some water sports while you are there.
Sightseeing
Cyprus' cultural heritage is nearby including several of the most important archaeological sites in the region such as Tombs of the Kings in Paphos, dating from 3CBC, and the Roman villa with stunning mosaics at the House of Dionysus in Kato Paphos near the harbour which also boasts a castle and a museum with Byzantine relics.
The current archaeological sites are being slowly excavated as it is believed that there are still many treasures yet to be discovered.

Shopping
If you simply follow the coast road there is a large modern supermarket in Pissouri, only 10 minutes away. The Resort shop in the Village Centre is well stocked with self catering food, drink and other essentials and is useful should you not rent a car or simply wish to stay local. The Intercontinental hotel also has a shop selling reasonably priced sunglasses and souvenirs.
As you head towards Kato Paphos from the motorway you will even find a Debenhams with a food hall! It also has a café overlooking a pretty fountain.
There is a lively covered market in Paphos Old Town, which itself is worth wandering around. A good spot for lunch whilst looking down the hillside towards Kato Paphos and the sea.
There are often art exhibitions around the area where you can find lovely original paintings and prints in a variety of styles, some of which you will see in our property.
Finally if you really want a retail fix you can head to MyMall in Limassol which offers a range of fashion and food outlets.

Golf and Tennis at Aphrodite Hills
With its stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and its exquisite setting Aphrodite Hills is paradise for golfers of all standards.
The 18-hole championship golf course is spread over 6,299 metres overlooking the site where Aphrodite, the goddess of love, is said to have emerged from the sea. The golf course also has a dedicated 3-hole Golf Academy and magnificent Clubhouse.
Nine floodlit Tennis Courts
The Tennis Academy features four perfectly maintained clay courts and five hard courts (green). All nine courts have floodlights.

On-Resort dining options
Penthouse guests can easily walk to several restaurants in a traditional village square setting less than 10 minutes walk away. Paphos airport is only 15 minutes away from the Penthouse, there are always plenty of taxis available and a selection of car hire companies can be found at the airport. The best deals can be secured by booking ahead (we use Auto Europe)
You can also fly to Larnaca which is about 1hr 15 minutes from the Penthouse.
A wide range of both scheduled and chartered airlines service both airports from most UK airports.

We rented the penthouse for 5 nights and had such a relaxing break. This is unusual since we have 3 boys 6, 4 and 1 but the property was so spacious and well equipped and just a short walk from the swimming pool so everyone was happy! We used the kids club on the complex for the mornings which was very good and the older 2 loved it. We will return soon! |

Just back from an amazing week at the penthouse at Aphrodite Hills. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable. The views from the balconies are spectacular, particularly while sipping a sun-downer in the hot tub. Great restaurants on the resort and plenty of space round the pool to laze the day away. I would recommend coming here with family and/or friends for the ultimate get away. Can't wait to return and start exploring Cyprus. |

Just returned from our second visit this year. Had a wonderful week - the penthouse was amazing as usual and the weather was in the 30s everyday. Enjoyed plenty of barbies on the rear terrace and long relaxed evenings with a cool drink on the front verranda - with the fatastic sea views, watching the amazing sunsets, then soaked in the hot tub on the master bedroom terrace after dark. Highly recommend the Anoi bar for drinks/cocktails and also the Italian restaurant in the village square.The choice and quality of the sunday lunch international buffet in the golf club was also impressive. The staff are all very friendly and approachable throughout the resort. will definitely be returning in the future. |
